If I could give 6 stars I would! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Critical bugs left unfixed for weeks *2026-07-20* A serious Retool Mobile bug suddenly caused every raster image in our app to appear two to four times larger than intended, breaking the UI for mobile users. Retool support confirmed that the issue was on their side. More than two weeks later, it is still not addressed. For a business platform that charges premium prices, leaving a confirmed production-breaking bug unresolved for this long is unacceptable. In my experience, Retool platform cannot be considered reliable or mature while behaving this way. ### 1/5 — Unstable and unreliable for large organizations *2024-08-31* We depend on retool for our organizations operations, automatic alerts are sent to customers, employees, then comes one developer at retool who consistently pushes bugs that destroy our reputation in front of customers and employees. The most recent bug runs queries over 25 times. We have automated emails being sent out over 20 times! This isn’t the first time an update pushes a bug, but if this company is to become something the backend software team has to be replaced , otherwise this is unreliable to depend on. The worst is that you got no one to speak to !!!! ### 1/5 — broken *2023-06-22* Didn’t seem to load or do anything ### 1/5 — Cannot login despite correct credentials *2022-12-02* Retool is a great piece of kit, we’ve recently implemented it in our business to manage large pieces of data in a great system. So, given that i am out and about a lot, Ive downloaded the app. Trying to log in with the same credentials as those i can access the website with proves unsucessfull on every occasions. I don’t see the point in settling for a much worse user experience, no good offline support (even on the expensive plan that “supports” offline), and ridiculous workarounds to reload data, delete selected rows, etc. Maybe for someone who ONLY knows JavaScript and SQL this could be useful, but there are so many workarounds required to build an app with basic CRUD functionality, I don’t see the point. I’m not even good at Swift — I’ve been using JS much much longer — but this is ridiculous. Even a cross-platform React-type framework would be easier to work with and result in better apps. Even a web-only app would be better. This is game changing *2023-02-25* I’ve been using Retool for several months on my desktop and I’m OBSESSED. It’s an incredible tool for speeding up the development of internal tools, and proving to others in your organisation that blue sky productivity thinking is actually achievable. When I discovered that they’d released a version for native mobile app development I was super excited, it may be early days but it doesn’t disappoint. In just a couple of hours I was able to build a simple barcode scanning app that lets me scan the barcode of a book and in the background looks up the book’s details and adds an entry to my Notion database. There are so many potential use cases, even with fewer features than for desktop it’s already an incredibly powerful tool!
