I like the Retro Bowl series but honestly? I like the other games better. That saying, I’m not a fan of college football so it may be different for someone rooting for a specific team. You still get to play football, and I like the yearbook feature.

Previous versions of retro bowl have been a wonderful experience. They have elegantly blended the classic eight bit football with some interesting mechanics over the years, but this upgrade ruined the game. The scholarship cap is overly punitive. It punishes you for having too many players get drafted. Your hard earned scholarship money is lost in an ether. Explaining that your money gets shared with other schools. There’s no incentive to win or have highly accomplished players. I’m extremely disappointed and have deleted the game until they can fix the blatant problems and make it realistic to win and enjoyable to play.
