## What is Retro Classics?

Retro goodness X4! 4 games in this collection guaranteed to take you back to your childhood with bright fluorescent graphics, retro blips and bleeps, simplicity and addictive old school gaming.
Before the internet and mobile phones, games of the 70's and 80's were beautifully simple and addictive. Imagine going back in time to see your old games (or your friends' old games you couldn't have!) Now you can own some of the best handheld/tabletop games of that time in this collection. Astro Wars and Galaxy Invader 1000 are highly rated, Invader From Space - a cult classic; and even more retro is the mechanical classic Blip - before even LCD or VFD (vacuum fluorescent display) games! Nostalgic but fun for all ages! Check the screenshots to see how accurate these are!
• Accurate simulations of the machines
• Full retro sounds
• Totally nostalgic
• i-Cade support
• Keep track of scores of all levels on the 3 VFD games
• Scores automatically update to Game Center if logged in
NOTE: To use iCade controller, press iCade button. You can now use joystick and red fire(5) button.
Pressing this without connection to a controller will bring up the keyboard. Press the button again to turn it off.

Galaxy Invader 1000:
Accurate recreation of the VFD LSI game by CGL, Gakken and Tandy. This was a classic and very popular toy back then. Now it is a rare and collectable item.
PLAY:
1. Set desired level. Slide on/off switch to "on"
2. Move Missile Launch lever to aim at Invader or UFO and press fire.
3. Game ends when you obtain 999 points or when all 3 Missile Launchers are destroyed or when Invader captures G-zone or when you have shot all of your 250 Missiles.
* When you obtain 700 points, 1 Missile Launcher and 50 Missiles are given as a bonus.
4. To start again, move to "off" then "on" again.

Astro Wars:
Travel back to the 80's this was one of the most advanced video games of the time with four sub games, coloured fluorescent display and a joystick only seen in the arcades. You could finally have your very own arcade machine in your home.
PLAY:
Turn Power ON (intro music will play).
Select Level (Graphics resemble difficulty).
Press Start
Fire at all enemies while dodging enemy fire on all phases of attack.
If you survive three attack waves, you get the chance for more points if you can dock your rocket-ship.
Press fire, left and right for thrusts to land rocket ship.
Game is complete when you reach 9999 points or you lose all your lives.
To restart, turn off and on Power.

Invader From Space:
This is an accurate replica of the original game with slight modification to the joystick control.
PLAY:
Press Power
Select Level
Press Start
Steer missile launch pad
Fire at UFO or invaders before they reach the ground
Avoid fire from invaders
You win when you reach score 999
You lose if invaders reach ground level or you lose your 5 lives

Blip:
Blip is an accurate recreation of the 1977 electronic and mechanical toy. It can 1 or 2-player. Blip was at the time a simulation of tennis,ping-pong and the early Pong video game made by Atari. You can play against the "computer" ( that never loses) or two opponents can play each other. Blip was a "must have" holiday gift for the 1977 as mentioned in Wikipedia.

This game has a slight modification to give you three speeds from very easy to very hard.
PLAY:
Choose 1 or 2 players.
If 1 player then start serving on the left side.
Ball is returned automatically by the computer.
Choose numbers 1-3 to catch the ball in time, making sure numbered button is held while ball lands, and it will return.
If you fail you serve again, awarding a point to the opponent.
If you choose 2 players then wherever the ball is the player serves first.
The player to reach 10 first is the winner or whoever has the highest score when the timer ends.
To reset counters, touch any counter.
To reset timer, touch timer.
Changing player mode resets everything.

*2020-07-10*

Great recreations of games from my youth. Unfortunately no sound which does detract from the experience

**Developer response:** No sound was caused by the mute switch being enabled. This app is now rereleased and has that mute button issue fixed.
Thanks

### 5/5 — Wonderfully Done

*2015-07-12*

If you're a long time gamer, it's fun to sometimes revisit the more simple but no less fun games of yesteryear. This app does a great job of recreating these classics. I love the way they are all stored on a virtual shelf ready for use. While it would be wonderful to collect the real thing, let's face it, these older games cost a fortune to get one in good working condition. If all you want to do is play the games, this app is a great alternative and even if you do have the real thing you still might find this preferable than adding wear and tear to to your valuable collector's item. So whether you're an older gamer wanting to revisit the past or a newer gamer interest in the beginnings of home gaming, I highly recommend this app.

### 5/5 — Totally retro!

### 5/5 — Exactly like an 1980s game
