### 2/5 — It’s not T9

*2026-07-09*

It makes the keyboard *look* like T9, but it’s not. It’s predictive and it’s limited in its capacity to do so. Typing “old school” abbreviations is impossible because it guesses what you’re trying to say and gets it wrong. T9 texting meant pressing buttons several times to get the correct letter and that isn’t how this app works. The only things it has in common with old texting is the layout and the fact that is in fact more time consuming. But it doesn’t feel nostalgic either. So it fails at being useful or fun.

**Developer response:** Hey,

The app also has the press the button "2" three times to write the letter "T" T9 mode, you can just turn off predictive text in settings or by holding down the "#" key.

I hope this helps, please reach out to me via support so I can help you.

Cheers
Andy

### 4/5 — small bug

*2026-05-02, version 2.9.0*

Id like it to default to number pad and it won't, even though it's in the settings

### 4/5 — SO close to the original T9, but not quite!

*2026-03-28*

I absolutely LOVED T9 “back in my day”, and this app is so close to how it was! It was incredibly nostalgic to use again.
I do, however, wish that it was like the old T9 keyboards where it allow you to switch to “multi-tap” mode for individual spelling of words that isn’t in the typical “predictable text” options. Maybe I can’t figure it out despite having read the directions, but I can’t get the keyboard to allow for individual letters.
I also wish it had the typical key that “set” a word in and then the word could be manipulated after rather than it deleting the whole word/changing the entire word again like the old T9 had. If you hit “>” then it would set the word. Removing the middle-of-typing blue highlight IYKYK 😂
Overall I love the app!

### 4/5 — Almost Perfect!

*2025-12-29, version 2.7.0*

One thing that needs to be addressed,

When I click the uppercase key, only the first tap registers as capital letter when it should it should be all capital as long as I'm not yet finished cycling through the letters.

### 3/5 — m

*2025-12-11, version 2.7.0*

prediktivní text kliknu na 2 a napíše to Be jak to vypnu

### 2/5 — This has potential but isn’t ready yet

*2025-11-19, version 2.7.0*

The guessing the word is a cool feature but is prone to guessing wrong. The functionality to only guess words corresponding to the number of times the keys are tapped is hidden in the beta features but isn’t reliable. I look forward to using this more in the future when the bugs are ironed out.

### 2/5 — Great but please custom keyboards free and the pre-made ones not

*2025-11-13, version 2.7.0*

Plz plz plz plz plz plz plz

### 4/5 — Haptic feedback notworking

*2025-10-26*

I love it, plz give me vibration when typing, and it will be perfect.

### 3/5 — Desactivar T9

*2025-10-19, version 2.7.0*

Esta super el teclado solo que si tengo que escribir siglas o algo donde no requiero el T9, no esta la opción para escribir letra por letra. Eso le daría un super pluus. Por favor añadanla

### 4/5 — Need two features to make it better

*2025-10-05*

It needs a GO/ENTER button and second a long press should give access to all the letters and symbols of that key.

Full access can also be added but i don’t find it necessary

### 4/5 — Great alternative to an T9 keyboard

*2025-09-29*

Personally, I do like the T9 app. However, is missing a lot of punctuations like the “!?@&” button. If y’all can somehow implement this to the keyboard, then I would’ve gave this app an 5/5 stars :)

### 2/5 — Not too impressed

*2025-06-23*

It lacks an emoji or symbols board (I'm using the free version) so if I need a ?!$&@' I have to switch to my other keyboard which seems like a huge oversight. Doesn't seem to be an option to take off the T9 prediction so I don't have the option to tap out my words, only use their predictions which misses basic words like Covid and names. If I wanna tap 633 to type out "me" thats my prerogative and I should get to if they want my $4.99

### 3/5 — Need some UPDATES

*2025-06-22, version 2.6.0*

the app is amazing cause it giving retro vibe but in the down side, u cant used any of these (-/:(/₱;@:”’?,. ) theres no buttons for that also emojis button they need to add that app🤷🏻‍♀️

### 2/5 — No option to “go”

*2025-05-30*

The prediction is really aggressive and makes you type words you don’t want or adds spaces in “predictive” mode and changes one word into two different words. Can’t “go” when using a browser keyboard. Must switch to another keyboard and go and switch back. Works ok for abc texting and messaging but not for regular use. Would have rather bought a glass of sauv. Haha!

**Developer response:** Hey,

Thanks for you feedback, I'm actively working improving predictive text, but for "go" long pressing the zero key is enter or return and should also act as go, you shouldn't need to switch keyboards for this feature.

Cheers
Andy

### 2/5 — cant turn off autocorrect without turning off text prediction.

*2025-04-10, version 2.5.5*

i cant stand autocorrect, makes it impossible to type anything especially on a t9, but text prediction would make using a t9 so much faster. awful setup to have them linked

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Full Access Non-Optional

*2026-06-11, version 2.9.0*

Most keyboards have an option to turn on/off full access. This one inserts itself into iOS list off keyboards with full access enabled and no way to turn that off! That means those keyboards can capture everything you type she send it to a third party. Absolute non-starter... you are crazy if you use this!

### 1/5 — High hopes for this app

*2026-01-04*

Really wished it worked better than claimed. Pressing space 2times did not give a period. Can’t access your emojis. $4.99 for not getting a functioning keyboard. Will be asking for a refund. The app was not designed well unfortunately. Added some words to my dictionary and they weren’t being picked up. Trying to type “Happening” not happening lol. I loved using that type of keyboard and wanted to use it again but this app was a dud. Don’t waste your money on this one. I really wanted to like it.

### 1/5 — No enter key

*2025-12-23, version 2.7.0*

Look, it’s fine if I can’t customize it, that really sucks butt, but I wouldn’t care, if this keyboard had an enter button. i can type all I want on it, but it doesn’t matter, because I cant even enter it.

### 1/5 — Not what I expected

*2025-08-04*

This app surely need an update on its features. There’s many things I find a problem with. Hepatic features don’t work, and no various symbols and punctuation marks, sure it has a dictionary so it will recognize words you want in place , but that doesn’t work .. I got to keep switch back to my original keyboard to add these words or symbols that I need . Hopefully you will update all this.

### 1/5 — 1

*2025-06-05, version 2.6.0*

I am tired of subscription apps

### 1/5 — doesn't work at all

*2025-05-12*

This is not how a 9T keyboard works at all. Not to mention it won't pull up in the messages app. not worth the purchase nor download.

**Developer response:** Hey Charles,

Can you please contact me via the support page in the app, it should be working I need more info to figure out what the issue is and fix it for you.

Cheers
Andy

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2025-04-14, version 2.5.5*

Lies

### 1/5 — Useless app

*2025-02-02*

The app looked interesting, but as soon as I opened it, it asked for ₹499 to use it! There was no mention of this upfront. Feels like a complete waste of time. Definitely not worth it. Avoid this app!

**Developer response:** Hey Azaz,

The app/keyboard is free to download and use forever, however there are some extra Pro features that are paid but these are entity optional and you don't have to pay for them to get full access to the keyboard, if you don't wish to pay you can simply skip that screen at the start of the app, I hope this helps.

Kind regards
Andy :)

### 1/5 — .

*2024-11-15, version 2.5.3*

Нет русского языка. Очень хорошая клавиатура, но нет русского языка.

### 1/5 — Rubbish

*2024-10-17, version 2.5.0*

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — good

*2026-04-08, version 2.9.0*

I FOUND OUT HOW TO FIX THE PREDICTIVE TEXT THING 5 STARSSSS

### 5/5 — As described!

*2026-03-19*

I'm not sure what any of the bad reviews are about (and I’m glad I didn’t pay them any mind) because this app is exactly what it set out to be! If you need any help understanding how to get to the other characters (such as ?,!,&,@, etc.) just click on the FAQ link in the settings. There, they have a nice reference chart. All the characters can be used on the keyboard. Great, simple app!

### 5/5 — Ya

*2026-01-19, version 2.8.0*

Ya

### 5/5 — Read the instructions!

*2025-10-15*

This app is great, even the free version on its own which should have everything you need! Yes, you can type ?!@& and so forth. Yes, you can enter. Yes, you can turn predictive text on and off from the keyboard itself. Do not listen to the bad reviews mentioning these issues, as they simply have not explored the full capacity of the keyboard.

My only thing is that the predictions are very assertive and I wish there was a simple button to cycle through them (such as #) rather than having to manually select from the above bar. Maybe this also exists and I haven’t found it yet…

### 5/5 — Clasico

*2025-09-13, version 2.7.0*

Espectacular, lo extrañaba desde el 2005 🥺

### 5/5 — Simple

*2025-06-04, version 2.6.0*

Sangat cocok untuk ip 13 mini

### 5/5 — Functional and sends you back to a different time

*2025-04-12*

It truly feels like I'm texting on my first cell ever (Nokia 5160), yet here I am on a newer iPhone. A handful of bugs here and there (toggles not fully working, haptic not working), which does break some of the immersion (I submitted an email with feedback). Not all regular symbols — such as slashes — are accessible, but the guide in the settings does a great job in explaining the shortcuts that have been implemented for ease of use (such as long-press 0 to press return). Is it a perfect recreation of T9? No; it lacks a few nuances that the OG T9 phones had. But, it is a phenomenal recreation for the digital phone era and I love that about it. I don’t have the paid version (the bells and whistles aren’t as important to me as the overall utility), but if you like how the app runs and want customization bonuses, I feel like this app checks all the boxes. I think it being free and a labor of love is what sets it apart from other alternatives; I definitely appreciate the work and care that’s gone into this app, and I look forward to seeing where it goes from here.

### 5/5 — Amazing app

*2025-04-01, version 2.5.4*

Please add Russian language❤️❤️❤️

### 5/5 — Great!

*2025-03-20, version 2.5.4*

I can finally type again without having to look at my screen. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Good job

*2025-02-27, version 2.5.4*

Boleh lah buat ip mini series. Ngetik 1 jempol tanpa lihat keyboard.
