## What is Retrospect?

Reimagine the way you meet people in person with Retrospect. Chat with people you see or pass by in real life without needing to approach them in the moment. Just create a Retrospect account and go online whenever you are out and about. Later, open the app to see the people you crossed paths with, even briefly. From there, you can connect privately and without pressure. If they add you back, you can start chatting instantly and securely.

Missed opportunities and uncomfortable conversations are a thing of the past. Retrospect is a new, private way to meet people in real life, making it easy to start a conversation without sharing your phone number or Instagram with complete strangers.

Privacy by Design:
Retrospect opens the door to relationships that might never have started and makes it easy to open direct lines of communication. No one, including nearby individuals and the user you followed, will know how you interact with others on the app.

Opportunity
From concerts and conferences to everyday moments on campus, opportunities to meet new people are everywhere. But turning those moments into real connections is often difficult or impossible, leaving countless opportunities unrealized. Retrospect removes those barriers and unlocks a new world of social potential. Stop wondering, What if?

How it works:
Using Retrospect is simple. Just press Be Seen and spend time around other users. There is no need to stay on your phone. In fact, we designed the experience that way, with a strict two-hour minimum wait before you can view the people you encountered. This removes the pressure of being seen in real time and lets you go about your day without constantly checking your phone.
Once the two-hour minimum has passed, open the app to see the people you crossed paths with at least two hours earlier. Keep in mind that not everyone will appear at the same time. The two-hour window begins from the first moment you encountered each individual, so every person becomes visible on their own timeline.
From there, you can choose to follow someone, like their profile, or indicate that you would prefer to see them less. If they add you back, you can start chatting right away.

Retrospect works best when more people around you are using it in real life, so spread the word and help unlock its full social potential.
