Retroville is world’s only platform designed for seniors who simply want to socialise and make genuine friends. We know that it gets harder as you age to meet like-minded people, who care about the same things as you do. For that reason, we simplified the entire process.
Retroville, is a free and simple way for you find someone to talk to about what’s important to your community without revealing any personal information. We protect the safety of all members by automatically connecting them with their match without using any personal information other than your first name.

WHY WE CREATED RETROVILLE?

Currently, more than 2 million people in England aged over 75 live alone, while more than a million say they live without talking to friends or family for a month. Such social deprivation, loneliness and lack of interactions can lead to mental health problems such as depression and dementia as well as decline in physical health. Currently, one in four of aged 65 and above suffer from depression. WE WANT TO CHANGE THIS.
We created Retroville with the intention to provide a safe platform for lonely elderly people to meet, socialise and engage in a more integrated lifestyle. Our platform facilitates users to form new bonds with their peers based on their interests. Retroville aims to be the 24/7 go-to companion for elderly living alone to feel supported, socially included and purposeful in life.

Retroville is built by two biomedical engineers graduated from Imperial College London. The team is backed by experts in social psychology and loneliness and supported by a consortium of UK’s leading academic institutions, AgeUK and Research UK.
