## What is Return of the C'waam?

Tend a Klamath lake back to health — then become the c'waam and swim home through the very water you healed.

Return of the C'waam is a gentle, no-fail water game for young children. The c'waam — the Lost River sucker — is one of the first foods of the Klamath Tribes, and this is its journey home.

TWO HALVES THAT ANSWER EACH OTHER
• Tend — heal your stretch of the basin: cool the water, open the channels, bring back the shade and the reeds.
• Return — swim home as the c'waam through the water you tended. The healthier the basin, the clearer and more alive the swim.

Four hands-on ways to help a reach of the basin: cool the water, slow the flow off the farms, put shade back on the bank, and open a side channel. What you do to a reach changes what the c'waam meet when they swim it afterward, so the tending and the swimming are the same story.

A journal that keeps what each cohort did, so you can look back at the basin you built rather than starting over blind.
