### 3/5 — Pronunciations Incorrect

*2026-06-03, version 1.0.16*

I like the stories, but as a convert, the bad pronunciations are frustrating. I want names and everything pronounced correctly. It’s supposed to be a Jewish app, but in the story of Hannah, the narrator is pronouncing her name with a hard “ch” instead of the Jewish pronunciation of “ch.” Disappointing.

### 4/5 — Out of order?

*2026-06-01, version 1.0.16*

I was hoping for the option to listen to the stories in chronological order but there isn’t an option I could find for that in the app- is there an order? I don’t know enough to know- I think it would be great to have that option.

### 1/5 — SCAM/ARNAQUE

*2026-05-14*

The app charges you illegally when you sign up for the free trial. They refunded me 50% after I harassed them; and then they silently charged me the 50% again. TOTAL SCAM.

### 1/5 — Scam Charges

*2026-05-12, version 1.0.16*

Spam/scam fake charges

### 1/5 — Unauthorised continuation of subscription payments despite cancellation request

*2026-05-11, version 1.0.16*

I have emailed to request cancellation of my subscription multiple times to the provided email that the company says to email both on their website and also in these responses to reviews, yet I have still been having the payments deducted from my account, despite the cancellation request.

I will be taking this further if my cancellation is not taken seriously as this has become fraudulent

### 1/5 — SCAM - DON’T BUY

*2026-05-08, version 1.0.16*

THEY CHARGE YOU EVEN AFTER TRIAL PERIOD EVEN IF YOU CANCEL. THIS IS MY THIRD MONTH IN A ROW HAVING TO CONTACT THEM AND DISPUTE CHARGES.

### 1/5 — Don’t use this app

*2026-05-07, version 1.0.16*

They will take money out your account without your knowledge and refuse to refund it.

### 1/5 — Scam

*2026-05-02, version 1.0.16*

Scam

### 1/5 — Buyer beware

*2026-04-21, version 1.0.15*

This is a scam,I’ve been excessively charged

### 1/5 — Do not get this app!!!

*2026-04-17, version 1.0.15*

Do not trust this app, the keep deducting money from your account even after you have canceled.

### 1/5 — Warning

*2026-04-17, version 1.0.15*

Total fraud set up by a person who isn’t jewish to take people’s money

### 4/5 — Good overall, some room to improve

*2026-04-15, version 1.0.15*

I am happy with this overall. It gives a quick overview of some favorite stories in easily digestible chunks. I’m neutral on the voice of the narrator, but I like the background sounds. However, I have two changes I’d suggest. First and most important to me would to have an option where it will let you move through a playlist without having to prompt it after each story. This would be even better if this could have some degree of customization, such as choosing the amount of time before it stops (30/60/90/120 minutes), or a set number of stories, or a list of stories (maybe preselected sets like the groups already available, or with the ability to choose stories or themes to add to your playlist), etc.; there are many ways this might be set up that would allow the listener to get more out of this. Listening to these really helps me when I’m struggling to fall asleep, except that having to select a new story every 7-10 minutes wakes me back up. And I have similar issues when I’m listening to these while doing chores, in that the frequent need to stop and select new stories gets frustrating.

The other recommendation is to have more organizational options, preferably with at least one that would allow for moving through the Torah in order for people who want to use this to learn more, or get a condensed version of the weekly parsha, etc.

### 1/5 — Read Reviews Too Late

*2026-04-09, version 1.0.15*

If I had read the reviews first, I would absolutely not have signed up for a month. I am recording this fact here on 9 April 2026. I do not consent for further debits to be made from my account after this one month subscription. I noted during the sign up process that it was indeed very difficult and confusing to get past signing up for additional premium content. I am recording here that I did not choose or consent to further charges for premium content or indeed any other charge beyond the first and only month.
If this app has indeed addressed the many complaints shown in these reviews and the content is worth the monthly fee and is not ‘monotone AI’ narration, I will sign up again. I will do so manually. I do not consent to this app/creator debited anything else from my account. I want my account cancelled after the first month, please. I am VERY disappointed to have given this app money only to see these incredibly disappointing reviews describing unethical behaviour which is completely counterintuitive to the service you are meant to be providing. I am hardly going to sleep better tonight after reading these reviews.
I will absolutely be back to update this review fairly. If any of the behaviour described by other reviewers happens to me, I will be recording it here and going straight to my bank or authority to report it. This behaviour is just way too common and REALLY disappointing in this space!

### 1/5 — Deeply regret

*2026-04-06, version 1.0.15*

This might be a great app, however the narrator’s voice is grating, raspy, and not pleasant at all. It should be soothing and calming. It sounds like AI voice. I think you should be able to hear the voice before purchase. Really disappointed

### 1/5 — Don't sign up- very difficult to cancel

*2026-03-26, version 1.0.15*

You have to sign up for the free trial to access bland AI voice stories that will either put to you sleep or make your ears bleed.

I thought I cancelled then got billed again. They refused to refund the charge because-get this- there are TWO subscriptions: licence and app, and cancelling one doesn't cancel the other (verbatim from the email).

It's a setup to overcharge people who didn't cancel both. Read all the reviews and be forewarned. I wish I had. And I still want a refund. I may have to block the charge on my credit card.

On the welcome email it clearly says a person can cancel on the app.

I strongly encourage people with the same experience to"report a problem" then report a fraud on the app page under the reviews.

### 1/5 — Revayah

*2026-03-26, version 1.0.15*

It’s a scam. They will charge you 4 times in a month. When you contact them they tell you that you signed up for that. They will tell you they’ve cancelled but will keep charging you every week until you block your card. It’s fraudulent

### 1/5 — RIP off artist

*2026-03-25, version 1.0.15*

Buyer, beware I ordered this. I tried it. I cancelled it and this company is still charging me. I would like these charges reverse please.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Continually being charged after ending subscription!!!

*2026-08-18, version 1.0.16*

Very sad to see I am still being charged after I stopped the subscription. Be warned.

### 1/5 — Scam - Beware!!

*2026-08-04, version 1.0.16*

Ordered trial and they installed year subscription - I cancelled yet they never responded & they still took my money. When blocked by my bank they changed name to RevayahAppstoria to confuse the bank and started taking money again. Note: company is based in UAE.

### 1/5 — Don’t Trust

*2026-07-22, version 1.0.16*

Initially looked good but they tricked me into a subscription I didn’t want.

### 1/5 — Bad customer service

*2026-06-18, version 1.0.16*

Awful customer service. Cancel your membership, don’t pause it because it’ll automatically recharge you. Despite writing the company the same day they wouldn’t refund. Why ethical company would ever do this. The stories were just fine.

### 1/5 — SCAM

*2026-06-09, version 1.0.16*

ITS A SCAM!!! THIS APO WONT STOP CHARGING ME!!! HAD TO CLOSE MY CHECKING ACCOUNT TO GET IT TO STOP!!!!!!

### 1/5 — Ges…

*2026-05-30, version 1.0.16*

Be very careful, i was charged £29.83 as soon as i signed up for the 7 days of free trial, struggling to get the refund, sincerely, be very mindful…

### 1/5 — False and deceptive advertising

*2026-05-29, version 1.0.16*

In Hebrew we call false advertising גניבת דעת. They say that “as of today, Revayah is FREE.” It’s a free download like everything else on the App Store, but you can’t get past the first page without subscribing.
A M-slim trying to deceive people using Jewish symbols and names is vile.
Shame on you!

As it turns out, the developer is a fraud and has no ties to the Jewish community:

“Fazeel Jabbar Kadalakkaran is a United Arab Emirates-based app developer and trader operating out of Sharjah. He is best known as the registered developer of various AI-driven and audio-based mobile applications on the Apple App Store, including Revayah: Jewish Stories and Transcriba: AI Lecture Notes. His most prominent application, Revayah (which purports to offer short Torah and Jewish wisdom audio stories), has faced significant controversy and public backlash. Users, community members, and media outlets have heavily criticized the app as potentially fraudulent or misleading, citing inaccurate AI-generated Hebrew pronunciations, unauthorized use of AI-generated likenesses of Rabbis (such as Rabbi Manis Friedman), and reportedly deceptive billing practices.”

### 1/5 — *SCAM*ALERT*

*2026-05-27, version 1.0.16*

Do not give them your credit card information. Even though I canceled this app for $6.99 for one month I have been billed every month since August 8 2025, either $24.99 or $39.99. This will not show up in your Apple receipts only in the spam portion of your email.

### 1/5 — NOT A JEWISH APP!!!

*2026-05-23, version 1.0.16*

First, this is not a Jewish app, it is a messianic app. Second, they keep billing me, despite the fact that I canceled six months ago. Third, customer service is impossible to find and they make it very difficult. DO NOT PURCHASE!!!

### 1/5 — Fraud

*2026-05-21*

They are taking money you can’t cancel anywhere, fraud

**Developer response:** We’re sorry for the experience. Please contact us at support@revayah.app with your purchase details and we’ll help you cancel and review the charges as quickly as possible.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Wonderful

*2026-08-04, version 1.0.16*

I listen to one story before I go to sleep every night. The stories are calming and put my mind at ease if the day has been difficult. Listening to these stories reminds me that life is a struggle and our people have always overcome hardships. The struggle to remain righteous and resilient is stressed and this helps put things into perspective.
