Hidden fees can come back to bite you. 1) Miscalculation of shipping fees is a major culprit. You can set shipping to be calculated automatically based on size and weight, and to be paid by the buyer. But, many times they will under calculate this before the sale, then after purchase, the actual shipping cost can be up to 45% more. Any overage has to be paid by the seller! This comes out of your profit!! 2) You can set a shipping fee ahead of time, then when it comes time to ship, Reverb will suggest a "safe shipping" selection which costs more. Along with that is often a "signature required" selection as well, which both cost more than what you've selected as your original shipping price. This is also, to be paid by the seller. Again this comes out of your profit..... I’ve watched this company Go from the best of the best to the worst of the worst over the last five years since they stopped doing phone support because they’re cheap penny pinchers. They also ruined the Mobile app by moving your purchases down below the screen where you can’t even see them anymore. It all used to be nice and concise on a single screen. I get I sent my feedback when they were asking for it during this changeover and they didn’t even listen. Nobody likes the new mobile app. During Covid we were all making money handover fist and they had marketplace integrity specialists flagging everybody’s account for suspension for the littlest stupid things and now they had to layoff half of their staff because people aren’t buying as much gear anymore and you can share your phone number or email without a problem for trading. They didn’t listen to me then and they still don’t listen to me now. Their customer service is horrible. They used to get back to you right away and now you have to submit an email case and wait two days for someone to finally respond and they always decide with the buyer never their sellers who are their bread and butter. I really don’t like this company anymore ever since they sold it to Etsy. It sucks. ### 2/5 — Cust service is just ok. Change the algorithm or make a setting where you can put in that you’re a left handed player. Must not have a lot of users…. Newest uptake only loads 4-5 pages of a search and then won’t load anything else. Like nothing. Keep these great updates rolling. UPDATE AGAIN: PLEASE FIX YOUR FREAKING APP!!! SEARCHES DON’T WORK. CONSTANT REPEATING OF ITEMS. I’M ALMOST DONE AND WILL TAKE MY SPENDING ELSE WHERE. LOOK ME UP, I SPEND ON THIS FREAKING APP! FIX IT! I’d take away the one star if I could. — If you plan on listing gear on this app, please be aware that they go out of their way to make it hard to sell your stuff. I shop the “new items” list. They have gone out of their way to make this impossible. It used to be easy to scroll through the new items, now you have to constantly hit a “load more items” button and after several pages it takes minutes to load. So, no looking at those items. Good luck selling!!! ### 1/5 — They deserve to go out of business *2026-08-30, version 7.11.0* I went back to eBay after 10 years on reverb. The fees are theft. I would rather give the buyer a $150 discount instead of giving it to reverb. For what? It’s my item I’m selling to another buyer and reverb is the parasite sucking all the profit. Then my account got suspended one full month after my last sale because I owed a fee for “incorrect measurements” so the shipping cost should’ve been more. I OVER measured and OVER weighed, as I always have done for online sales since 2000. UPS accepted my package and it got delivered. One full month after that delivery my account was suspended because they say I owed $3. After the hundreds of dollars in fees I have paid and the successful delivery. ### 1/5 — Order flaw *2026-08-26, version 7.11.0* They need to fix a bug. When you place an order and you try to split payment, it shows a split payment but then when you send it through, it doesn’t do it. I sold three pieces of musical equipment through the platform, purchased and paid for the shipping labels directly through Reverb, and shipped everything using the measurements and information provided at the time. Now, three to four months later, Reverb suddenly claims that I owe almost $400 in additional shipping-label charges. What makes this even more frustrating is that the measurements I provided match the measurements taken by the carrier when I dropped off the guitar and the other equipment. The packages were measured there, the shipping was accepted, and the labels had already been paid for through the Reverb app. Yet months later, I am being presented with hundreds of dollars in additional charges. I find this completely unacceptable and extremely irresponsible. Sellers should be able to know what they are actually paying when they purchase a shipping label—not receive a surprise bill for nearly $400 months after the transaction is finished. Reverb already collects selling fees and shipping costs, so unexpected charges like this make me seriously question whether I would ever sell through this platform again. At the very least, Reverb should provide clear documentation showing exactly where every additional charge came from and why the original measurements and shipping charges were supposedly incorrect. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Reverb to other sellers. If you sell here, keep screenshots, receipts, package measurements, carrier documentation, and records of absolutely everything, because apparently a completed transaction does not necessarily mean the charges are actually finished. ### 1/5 — FEES ON FEES *2026-08-10, version 7.9.0* Go sell on marketplace or eBay. Reverb has an absurd amount of fees. LOADS OF FEES. Let me give you some: Reverb selling fee, Payment processing fee, Shipping label fee, Bump fee, Sales tax, also not including all the shipping you have to spend at the actual post office. Overall I sold an interface for $460 and all this dropped it to around $330. NOT WORTH IT. Go to fb marketplace. ### 1/5 — disappointed *2026-08-04, version 7.8.0* i sold a barely used udo super 6 on this app and was paid $2,900 but the payout was $2,232 after hundreds of dollars of fees taken from selling, payment processing, and a shipping label. and i didn’t know how much the final payout was going to be until after i shipped it off to the buyer. can’t say ill be using this app to sell anymore. maybe im doing something wrong? but i lost out on hundreds of dollars for seemingly no reason at all ### 1/5 — Horrible Experience *2026-08-03, version 7.8.0* They disabled my ability to leave feedback on a fraudulent seller. Plus would not refund me after no product delivery for close to a month.
