## What is Reverie?

Reverie is a curated library of the great sensual literature — Colette,
Radclyffe Hall, Kate Chopin, D. H. Lawrence, and works being translated into
English for the first time.

Every title is complete. Not extracts, not summaries: the whole book, with your
place kept and the bookmarks you chose.

One passage arrives each evening, at a time you set. Tap it and the reader
opens at exactly that paragraph of the full text.

Chosen and introduced by people who have read them. Every work carries a note
on what is inside, so nothing arrives unannounced. Nothing appears on your lock
screen that you did not ask for, and the app can wear a different icon on your
home screen.

Thirteen new books, and three new shelves.

Eight of them are by women, which is what this release is really about. Emily Brontë's Wuthering Heights. Edith Wharton's The Age of Innocence. Christina Rossetti's Goblin Market. Sappho, in the fragments that survived her. Mary Wollstonecraft's Maria. George Egerton's Keynotes. Elinor Glyn's His Hour, and the diary Mary MacLane published at nineteen and scandalised America with. They have a shelf of their own now — In Her Own Voice — as well as their places on the others. More than half the library is written by women.

Four are short, for the evenings you have twenty minutes. Heloise writing to Abelard from her convent, refusing to say she was sorry. Mary Wollstonecraft to the man who left her. Keats to Fanny Brawne, in the year he was dying. And Short and Explicit — twenty-one poems by Donne, Herrick, Aphra Behn and Emily Dickinson, chosen and set together for this library. Two more shelves for them: Letters, and Read in One Sitting.

The Song of Songs joins the Devotional shelf, in the Jewish Publication Society translation of 1917 — three thousand years old and still the frankest love poetry in the canon.

And every book now has its own evening passage, chosen by hand rather than taken from the opening page.
