### 2/5 — revo scan 6 for new pop4 scanner?

*2026-06-30*

documentation for the new pop4 scanner indicates that revo scan 6 is necessary to use the scanner on the go with a phone. is there any info as to when that will be available?

### 2/5 — Crashes WAY to much

*2025-11-23, version 5.4.2*

Just connecting is already an issue

But the fact that the app is crashing way too much already says its not fully passed the trial and error stage but still put on the store shelves…

### 3/5 — App could use improvments

*2024-02-22*

I noticed when you use the app with the scanner, and also use it to convert it to a Mesh, it is very low quality, as compared to the Desktop App , and also there is no way to change the Mesh settings to be able to create a higher quality file. I hope in next update , you add the function of being able to save the file in higher quality Mesh file.

### 1/5 — Disappointed at best

*2024-01-27*

Note: This version of the appliation is a universal application for ipad/iphones, as such it has lmited functionality compared to the full product. If you want the full version of the product you MUST download it from the revopoint web site.

Because this is a universal application USB does not work when running it on a Mac.

### 1/5 — Does not work on iphone 15

*2024-01-27*

Junk , does not work on iphone 15

### 1/5 — Disappointed at best

*2024-01-25*

My first issue is the App store version is not the same as the the web site (5.3 vs 5.4). and all the videos are based on 5.4 which appears to have a completely differnt GUI . Version 5.3.2 on the Mac has very little if any configuration tools.

My second issue is that the scanner simply does not work when connecting it directly via a USB cable on a Mac Mini M1 running Sonoma 14.2 or 14.3

Lastly when using wifi the connecction is intermittent at best even with the unit 5 feet from the Mac. Each time the network connection drops I had to reboot to reestablish a connection.

The hardware itself seems to be of very high quality but without functionaing software its not useful as a tool.

### 1/5 — Kopplung Range mit iPhone klappt nicht

*2024-01-07*

Leider ist das alles nicht intuitiv, sondern gebastel…

### 2/5 — Works to a degree

*2023-12-10*

The scanner works fine on a laptop, but I bought the portable scanner to use with my phone. I have to connect the scanner to the app via WiFi and it barely works, or more often simply doesn’t. The iPad Pro, iPad Air, and iPhone 15 add have USB C, it’s high time that these guys modify the app to use USB support so we don’t have to try to rely on the extremely spotty WiFi connection to the app.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your comment, a stable power supply leads to a more stable connection, and a wired connection is in our subsequent development.

### 1/5 — Very Disappointed. Software Basically Unusable

*2023-10-19*

This app is terrible. I have issues with connecting to the scanner, then performing the scans.

I connect power to the unit and wait about 30 seconds. Then I connect to the scanner’s WIFI. Then I open the RevoPoint app. Fir a very, very long time, up to 7 minutes, the app says, “No scanner detected. Connect a scanner.” Finally if/ when it connects, I get to the section where you set the scan settings. Once i do that and then press the button to start the scan, I get 4 spinning red dots, and one of two things happens:

1. In up to 5 minutes, the 4 round dots go away, and I can scan.

2. The spinning red dots never go away. Then I force close the software and start all over again. Sometimes I’m not able to get it to scan no matter what I do.

This does not happen on the computer app. I’m running IOS 16 on an iPhone 13. I do not remember this happened when I first got the device. 2 things changed since then, a scanner firmware update, and updating to IOS 16.

Once I do get a scan going, the phone app does have significantly more trouble keeping tracking of the object than on the computer. I tested this by scanning the same object using both methods.

Also, not related to this app, but it seems this device in general, works much better when the scanner is stationary, but the scanned object is placed on a rotating platform. Unfortunately this isn’t always feasible unless you are scanning a small object.

### 3/5 — Kein USB-C Support

*2023-10-02*

Bitte für eine stabile Verbindung den USB-C Support der neuen iPhones freischalten! Das ist mir 1000 mal lieber wie über Wlan! Per Usb einfach einstecken und loslegen! Viel besser!

### 1/5 — What a useless application

*2023-08-27, version 5.2.2*

Using an iPhone 12 Pro, which though not the latest model is a very powerful mobile.

Firstly the WiFi connection is close to useless, the WiFi SSID of my POP 2 is found and accepts the password on the third attempt. The phone connects out the connection is propped every few seconds.

I can see in the app my scanner has connected, but start a new project and the connection have been dropped. Repeated exiting the app to reconnect and if your lucky you will get to the point where you can scan.

The scan rate is then pathetically slow with maybe 1 or 2 frames per second, this is unacceptable. You will have no hope to move around an object to scan it. The apps stutters and burps, the slow update means it is hopeless to scan and mesh and object.

I am now going to delete this app and look to sell my POP 2 which and miserable failed to work and complete waste of money.

Shame on you Revopoint !

### 2/5 — Not working with IPhone 13 Pro and POP 3

*2023-07-10*

The app doesn’t detect the POP 3 with an iPhone 13 Pro.
Please solve this issue.

### 1/5 — Is anyone there…?

*2023-06-03*

Literally everything for the Pop2 is non-functional. I cannot get the Mac software to work at all, so I decided to try the iPhone software… dude, huge mistake. I’m glad I haven’t thrown away the box yet, because this paperweight is going back.

### 2/5 — Gravity sensor - hardware issue

*2023-04-18, version 5.0.3*

I purchased the range, I am frustrated with the product movement sensor accuracy, so far none of my model (I even tried a simple mug)can be scanned fully, you could only take freeze scan, once you start moving the sensor slowly, the scanning returns on the screen with a sudden drop or fast movement like jump into a limbo and kept rotating itself, as a result, my model flies everywhere. I don’t know how this can be solved?

### 3/5 — Cannot connect to hand held stabiliser and

*2023-03-19*

Dear Revopoint Support Team,
Please could you adress following points?
- handheld stabiliser is not being recognised
- no option to not post processing the point cloud. I only want to transfer the point cloud to computer without having fused or meshed it.
How Can I please get the old app which have better worked?
Many thanks,
Ignacio

### 1/5 — Not Worth It

*2026-07-02*

When I first got this it might connect it might not. I was able to use the scanner and app once in the almost 2 years I’ve had this. Recently it wouldn’t connect and the troubleshooting they give you is way out of date. Don’t waste your time and money on the scanner and app.

### 1/5 — App is garbage

*2026-06-25*

Can’t connect the scanner at all

### 1/5 — Software is garbage

*2026-06-24*

Connected to the new Pop 4 via WiFi, double checked all of the settings and it still won’t see the device. Try and launch the app on my laptop and all it ever brings up is ogre engine rendering set up and that’s it.

### 1/5 — Do not buy the Pop4 it does not work

*2026-06-23*

I did the Kickstarter for the POP4 when I plug it into my computer it says there's a surge and it's not enough power to run to run the scanner from my computer USB ports. Not one single port works. When I connect to the Wi-Fi through my mobile app. It does not work. It always says it's disconnected. It's not even Revo scan six which is what the instructions say to download. There's no troubleshooting. There's no customer support. There's nothing. It's a pointless. Pointless. Waste of time. Do not buy it take it back immediately.

### 1/5 — POP4 won’t connect.

*2026-06-20, version 5.4.2*

App is sparse and badly designed

### 1/5 — Does not seem to work with MetroX scanner

*2025-08-05, version 5.4.0*

Tried to connect my MetroX scanner but nothing appears in any WiFi or Bluetooth settings. Only device it finds is my turntable which is pointless as I can control that from the pc software which it seems I have to have the MetroX connected to. Was hoping for a mobile solution using iPad which should be possible as it’s using an M4 chip so a port of the macOS software should be feasible

### 1/5 — Just don’t

*2025-07-29, version 5.4.0*

Horrible doesn’t even connect

### 1/5 — Useless to me as it wont connect to scanner

*2024-11-27, version 5.3.8*

As the title says, this app is useless to me as it wont connect with my miraco plus. First thought was that miraco (as its a standalone scanner on its own) dont come with the functionality to connect to the mobile app. However quick google search suggests that connection is possible. I followed the online tutorials and guides but none of them seems to work for me. Hence the rating and the review.
I'll give it a couple of more tries and if i manage to get it to connect I'll update this review and rating.

### 1/5 — No asking for local network

*2024-07-07, version 5.3.5*

Works on my iPad where it asks permission to local network but not on my iPhone 12 mini where it's not getting that permission so it just refuses to find the scanner. Fix it

### 1/5 — Ça ne marche pas

*2024-02-23*

Le scanner n'est pas détecté (Mini 2)

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Inspire 2 user

*2026-05-10, version 5.4.2*

Been using the app for a couple of weeks now. Seems stable and scan results have been very good.
I’ve also found customer service to be very helpful.

### 5/5 — Klasse

*2025-01-24*

Klappt alles wunderbar, natürlich sollte das KnowHow vorhanden sein.

### 5/5 — iPad Pro and USB C

*2023-05-31*

When will this app be available for the iPad with USB C compatibility? I believe the next-generation of iPhones will also have USB C connections so why wait? I really want to use this app on my iPad Pro with USB C support. Thanks!

### 5/5 — Language

*2023-04-12*

Developers, Russian will be?

### 5/5 — Easy to use for modeling

*2023-03-18*

Unbelievable for me, the first time I could scan the object within such limited slot and create amazing modeling, very nice experience^~^

### 5/5 — It is unique software!

*2023-01-19*

Amazing! It is easy to use and have a magic function “ undo”. It provide very good quality of scans, I like to use it more than PC version!

### 5/5 — Works for me

*2022-07-24*

3D Scanning on the go with my own portable battery pack

### 5/5 — Bad directions but works as should

*2022-03-26*

I bought the pop2 Kickstarter version so at the time of receiving mine, directions on connecting to the app were a little confusing. I recommend connecting to a pc first and trying the computer program version downloaded from the Revopoint site to verify the camera works. Afterwards disconnect the camera from the pc and plug it into a wall charger. Go to your WiFi settings on your iPad/iPhone and look for the Pop address to show up. Type in the camera password. Launch the app and it should connect to the camera when you tap the New Scan button.

To save out the scan, make sure the cloud point data is fused and then convert it to the mesh( I found the buttons on the left hand side after completing the scan.

You will need to have something like Dropbox installed in order to save the scan off your device so you can access it. To save out tap on projects, select your scan, then share it to a file share.

### 5/5 — Getting there.

*2022-03-25*

Early app, has a lot of promise. 3D scanner has lots of potential. Works very well if you take your time and set things up properly.

### 4/5 — So Far ok

*2022-04-16, version 1.0.3*

Run a few scans from mobile and so far it seems to work pretty well with Pop 2. Still a little rough here and there and a few glitches but mostly works ok
