### 4/5 — Good game

*2023-11-17, version 1.07*

Perfect, down the the minuscule detail but one. WHY CANT WE PLAY THE FULL REVOLUTION WAR

### 5/5 — There is a problem

*2023-04-24*

When I get to the mandatory task called ‘Diverted Shipments’, it is not letting me select the option. This is the only task that I have to do to move on to the next phase and it is mandatory. I’m at a roadblock now because of this bug. I simply cannot click on the option like it’s frozen. Please fix this bug so I can keep playing because it’s a very good game.

### 4/5 — So close to brilliant

*2023-03-27, version 1.07*

Fantastic political simulation that falls short because it gives the British historical numbers but not the American forces. You can only bring two generals to a battle and most of them are capped at 1000 men. Washington can have only 4000.

The really odd part is there is a total army available amount on top of the screen which probably is too many. But not enough army space with the generals to use them.

I am not suggesting that Washington should have enough men to stop Howe from taking New York but when 1777 rolls around even if you have been keeping your armies as close as you can to maximum you will not have anything close to the numbers that Washington had to counter Howe’s Philadelphia campaign and Gates had to fight Burgoyne.

The battle system is a bit goofy too. Taunting an enemy is actually one of the ways to score a some hits on the enemy. But I could live with that if they fixed the army cap numbers.

If someone has lasted past 1777 I would like to know how. :)

### 5/5 — Outstanding game (and very possible!)

*2023-02-27, version 1.07*

I saw a lot of reviews saying that the game is really hard, and that can be true. I was wrecked the first time I played, I ran out of money and supplies, everyone was starving and after a string of losses everyone lost faith in the revolution and that was the end of that. I learned some lessons though and did manage to beat it with the best ending on my second full playthrough, so it IS possible.

First, while I’m militarily incompetent, it’s fortunate for me that the actual results on the fields of Mars aren’t necessarily crucial to the outcome in many cases as much as the propaganda and economic war. Though of course that helps if you can pull off crazy wins. Even if you lose so long as you have the support of the states, you can get more money, supplies and volunteers to fight back later and maybe take back that city… so don’t just give up cities without a fight as that causes a huge loss in support! You need to stand up to the British and do something to show you aren’t just taking their money to stand around playing soldier. But you may say, well how do I stand a chance against a massive horde? Frankly, you probably don’t. But George Washington is your best friend for facing big armies because he has a special ability after a battle is started to retreat without suffering (m)any more losses where other commanders would have options to do something else that would get them ground to a fine paste. I guess the optimistic way to call it is preserving your forces to fight another day. This can help you contest cities without losing much so you can keep the confidence of the states so they’ll still give you money, supplies and volunteers while still keeping enough of a military intact to later clash with the British in actually winnable battles. Though more aggressive commanders like Nathaniel Greene or Benedict Arnold (there’s a certain issue with him) are better in those clashes.

Aside from that, try to get the support of the states as much as reasonable. Also, try to stand up for people’s rights as much as you can; it can be tempting to see the immediate benefit from seizing loyalist properties, keeping things easy with the southern states (that you desperately need the support of as they are rich) by supporting the institution of slavery, engaging in piracy, etc., but while it may be necessary to do something questionable from time to time to keep things from going bust completely if you build up a negative pattern of behavior over time then groups that might have been swayed to your side or at least to not be a pain might decide to make your life very difficult and they can be VERY effective in twisting that knife to see you get your comeuppance when they have the chance.

And also be sure to keep your armies swapping around to where they’re useful, and I recommend taking the options to discharge some soldiers in areas where you don’t/won’t need them. You can only attack with two armies, one in charge and one as reinforcement, so I’d recommend only recruiting soldiers for those two in any one of the three regions for most of the time as a bunch of middling staffed armies does NOT have the same performance as a couple of big ones and others that are atrophied but does cost about the same.

This is a great game, really engaging and well researched and helped me to get a better sense of what was going on where during the revolution and for how desperate the whole thing was. Even in my good game there was a lot of anxiety leading up to Yorktown and I came close to botching it at the end… but it CAN be done, so don’t be discouraged!

### 5/5 — LOVE IT

*2023-02-05*

(And before I start im not a bot). I really love everything about the american revo but this game is so so fantastic keep up the good work. From noah

### 4/5 — HHEELLPP

*2023-02-02, version 1.07*

This game is the best revolutionary area game but it is so hard to beat and I still haven’t so if any who has any tips sees this please right a review with some tips

### 5/5 — Best American Revolutionary War game hands down

*2022-10-22, version 1.07*

I finally just beat this game after almost a year of off and on playing. It wants you to really balance your stats to ensure longevity. Always think about both choices at Critical moments, although if you are doing it right you will often have one option.
You will also have to move your armies around quite a bit to be effective.
This game makes you analyze the events and choose the proper course of action. Same with combat, I like how the moves can interact with the opponents in different ways.
I like the update so far, it adds to the learning aspect.
A few things that I noticed: When topping off on troops, I think that you should only be charged for what you need. The 300 standard is fine, but if my army requires less than that, I want to pay the correct price.

I was surprised to hear that this game was made by an educational institution rather than an independent studio. Everything is of amazing quality and I cant wait to see future updates

### 5/5 — Fun but how do I beat it!

*2022-09-05, version 1.07*

It’s fun and I like to play itEvery time I get to YorktownI can never beat it. I don’t even know how it’s possible

### 4/5 — TOUGH

*2022-08-03, version 1.07*

One of the toughest games I’ve played, but besides that its amazing. History is fantastic, choices are fantastic just please maybe make this an impossible mode and have another one be a little easier

### 5/5 — I’m stuck in a part

*2022-06-23, version 1.07*

So I’ve been stuck in the part where it says capture Wilmington and when I press mobilize it won’t work

### 4/5 — Great Game!!! Should be different difficulties though as the game is extremely hard to beat

*2022-02-23, version 1.07*

This is the best game you are going to be able to find on the American revolution. You get to make tough decisions and play through historically accurate events whilst having a lot of fun. My only flaw with the game is how hard it is to beat. This is why there should be different difficulties so that it would be easier to progress through the game and a normal or easy difficulty instead of it always being hard.

*2023-07-13, version 1.07*

### 3/5 — Best strategy game

*2025-11-17, version 1.07*

This game is good but you should update it to make it better and add more campaigns of that era like napoleonic wars , French Revolution wars and give us a chance at both sides of this game let us be the British

### 3/5 — Please

*2025-10-13, version 1.07*

You should make a game about the Napoleonic wars

### 3/5 — Good but a lot of bad

*2025-01-20, version 1.07*

It’s to difficult in my opinion I have played this game for 2 years and have never beaten because I get no help from anyone make this game more realistic by letting your allies actually help and give you stuff you need please it will make the game 1000 times more enjoyable for everyone

### 3/5 — To Hard

*2022-08-25, version 1.07*

Though it is quite realistic, it’s way to hard. Has anyone actually ever completed the game?

### 3/5 — You can’t win

*2021-10-02, version 1.07*

This game is a lot of fun because it weaves strategy with actual historical events. Unfortunately, there is no way to win. Even if you have the British nearly wiped out on the continent you’ll runout of time. It’s a huge flaw.

### 4/5 — Great game, unreasonably hard though

*2025-11-03, version 1.07*

The game is amazing, and is surprisingly accurate but I wish there was a easy mode since I have been
Playing it off and on for 3 years and still haven’t beaten it, if anyone has any tips please share them in a review

### 4/5 — Better Than i Thought It Would Be

*2025-10-12, version 1.07*

Being an old-school, hex and counter wargamer, I have learned to have low expectations when it comes to iPad wargames but this one is really good. You are making decisions on the course of the war while hoping you can keep the Revolution alive long enough to win.

The game presents you with a situation and you choose how to deal with it. Sometimes (like fighting battles), you decide what to do and then you do it. Other times, you are dealing with the Continental Congress and you all vote to decide what you will do.

All in all, the game is a very good educational tool for learning about this conflict and you can play the British too, if you want. Recommended!

### 4/5 — Regarding artwork

*2025-03-23, version 1.07*

Guys, thank you for this enticing experience, submerging me into the country’s history. Every step of the game is accompanied by the beautiful artwork which look like the real paintings, though I’m not sure. If it really so, please, make it possible to enlarge it and see the name of it, the author, the year and maybe some story behind it. These images look deserving some credit.

### 4/5 — Good but one major problem

*2025-01-02, version 1.07*

I would recommend you download this app if you like war/history themed games I loved it personally the only thing that I didn’t like is when in the middle of the game it just says ‘’end of demo’’ and I can’t play anymore

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Good but very hard game

*2026-06-07, version 1.07*

Played this game for at least 5 years now and haven’t came that close to beating it but it is very fun and accurate

### 5/5 — Engaging Gameplay

*2025-12-22, version 1.07*

I never write reviews but this one deserves it. Great historical accuracy and engaging strategy. Highly recommend for any history/strategy buffs out there!

### 5/5 — A ton of fun

*2025-03-26, version 1.07*

Very fun game. If you are a history buff you will love this game.

### 5/5 — Good game

*2024-11-07, version 1.07*

It’s a good game but why is it saying end of demo

### 5/5 — wow

*2024-07-09*

brilliant illustration of the revolution

### 5/5 — Amazing strategy game, and educational too!

*2024-06-21, version 1.07*

My history introduced this game to my class, and I’ve had lots of fun playing and learning. I’ve finally beaten it after 2 years of on and off playing

### 5/5 — Awsome

*2024-06-14, version 1.07*

Awsome game guys also if or when you do pls create a civil war version of this American civil war to be precise

### 5/5 — Reminds of Kings Dragon Pass

*2024-04-28, version 1.07*

Along the vein of dragon pass and it’s sequels sixty saga or something.

But this.. this is not fantasy and hits hard, has all the political intrigue like Franklin TV+ series or TurN

And it’s free? A damned shame the mainstream game journalists have not covered this.

Beautiful game, beautiful artwork, Dolby level sound effects, masterful gameplay mechanics, Intuitive tutorial, Immersive, seductive because it seduces you to think about it when you’re not playing it - the main factors of the seduction being artwork and sound effects imprint onto your mind and how they all mingle with the game mechanics.

I would had gladly paid for this! Will remain in my collection for eternity.

This is how education (gamification) should be done. 👏 👏 in the future when we are all digital, future edutainment courses will copy this concept.

### 5/5 — The best phone strategy game I’ve ever played.

*2023-11-05, version 1.07*

This game is so fun, very detailed and very good with the small details. I love the pictures the use, I love everything about it. My only knock would be the battles could be a little bit more strategic, the options are strategic but it usually just comes down to having more guys but other than that this is a 10/10 game. I played it for two weeks, it took a few tries to beat it. Would definitely play anything else this dev team kicks out. Download it now if you like strategy games or the rev war.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2023-08-08, version 1.07*

Game is amazing and I have been looking for something like this forever. Maybe you could make games in the same format but with different situations like ww1 and 2 and maybe the Napoleonic wars
