The location based information on your rights is excellent, the help section isn’t just technical assistance for the app but actually connects you to local resources such as legal assistance, organizations, and local organizers and press. I’m so happy this is like a one stop shop for rights related issues. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Will not record audio or video *2023-01-29, version 1.5* The legal information contained on this app is pretty general, but it will help people and also remind you that you have the right to remain silent at all times and request a lawyer. As far as the ability to record interactions with the police or audio conversations with them if that is negligible, because these features do not work. If they did, I would’ve given it another few stores. ### 2/5 — Not functional without location services and lacks legal citation *2022-05-31, version 1.5* Could be an incredible app but it is rendered nearly useless if you don’t share your location. Why it matters; if im traveling out of state i cannot lookup information to guard myself. I am only capable if seeing my local area. After sharing my location the app doesn't specify whether this is state specific law or nationally accepted practice. The app also doesn’t cite specific code. This makes it difficult to determine if it’s actual legal interpretation or someone who wants to be a lawyer. At the time of this writing, I would NOT rely on this app to understand my rights. ### 2/5 — Pronunciation *2022-05-31, version 1.5* The first time I looked at the name of this app, I thought it would be pronounced phonetically, with two syllables, as something like Riots. Then I got it, there is the word "eye" in the middle, so it may have been intended to be pronounced with one syllable, as Rights. So that we can lock our phones and it still records? **Developer response:** If you go to settings, you can set it to record audio on lock, this will allow you to continue recording audio while your phone is locked. Apple does not allow apps to record video while the screen is locked, if that changes we will include this feature. I cannot control the recording and worse yet I can not play what was recorded. Terrible ap. I would like Ed a refund so I can get another Update. I didn’t have my location on, my bad sorry. I really wanted to film something and have a hard time bringing the video up. But one problem was the location was off. It still is a good thing to have once I figure out how to work it. It also provides community resources that are catered to your needs, you are also able to fill out a report either if you are a witness or a victim of any sort of crime, the team then reaches out with information solely based on your situation.. talk about white glove service!
