### 1/5 — Unusable

*2025-06-12, version 2.8.5*

The app doesn’t control the unit. I can only guess that its soul purpose is to Hoover your phone for data.

### 1/5 — Not for iphones i guess

*2024-05-27, version 2.8.5*

The iPhone will connect and play but none of the controls work from the app to the actual console.

### 1/5 — Doesn't support PMX-2

*2024-05-25, version 2.8.5*

How is it possible one of their devices (PMX-2) is not supported by the App?

### 1/5 — Serious lack of compatibility.

*2024-05-11, version 2.8.5*

It’s ridiculous that Rockford Fosgate would design an app that only works with their lowest tier of radios. I mean, come on! It works with the PMX-1, but not the upgraded models, like the PMX-2 or PMX-3. It’s just mind blowing. Even their Bluetooth remote for these models relies on connecting to your phone, and then to radio. Rockford Fosgate needs to get with the times!

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2024-04-25, version 2.8.5*

If I could give it a zero I would. We have it in our RV and we have to manually adjust the sound 99% of the time. Useless.

### 1/5 — Horrible app

*2024-03-08*

90% of the time it doesn’t work. It’s useless.

### 1/5 — If possible to leave 0 stars I would

*2023-12-28, version 2.8.5*

Bought a Jeep from the dealership and it had products already installed. App worked for 2 day and hasn’t been able to find products to connect. Done every troubleshoot option available to fix issue and nothing has worked. Need to fix the software asap

### 1/5 — Device for lights

*2023-12-03, version 2.8.5*

This is a crappy device. Never works, been back to the dealer 5 times. Terrible product, don’t bother buying it

### 1/5 — Junk. Volume control on iPhone doesn’t work

*2023-11-12, version 2.8.5*

PMX-1 system on our RV. Every other Bluetooth system we connect to, there is no issue with using the physical volume buttons on the phone to control volume. RF Connect though? Does not work. You have to go into the RF Connect to control volume. Makes zero sense, at all. So you can change your playlists and everything from within Apple Music, but if you want to turn the volume up or down a touch, you have to reopen the RF Connect app, wait for it to recognize what is going on, and the use an antiquated slider button to move the volume up a notch.

GIVE US BACK INDEPENDENT VOLUME CONTROL. 😬

### 1/5 — Nearly useless

*2023-04-30, version 2.5.9*

Just downloaded the app onto both of our phones. So excited. Well I have volume control and he has music/channel selection. Turned off our BT and only let him turn it back on. Still the same issue. So I guess we’ll have to both delete the app then only on of reinstall it. Totally stupid.

### 1/5 — New RFConnect app no longer can find and connect to my PMX-1.

*2023-03-22, version 2.5.5*

Appears there are issues with the updated version connecting to PMX-1. Previous version worked, this new version doesn’t and will not connect via Bluetooth. Update the app to this version at your own risk. Update: Found a way for the new version to work … and stay working after 1 use. This is what I did to get it to work: - Deleted the app from my IPhone 13 Pro. - Shut down my IPhone - Rebooted my IPhone. - Upon completing the reboot, went to the Apple App Store and did a fresh download of the app. Have yet to have the RF Connect fail to connect to my PMX-1 and operate since following the above. Scratch the Update… not connecting to my PMX-1 … again. Have sent multiple emails to RF with info on my IPhone and PMX-1 details as requested…called RF on all that I have experienced so far with these last 2 updates. Suggest that the old version 1.4.0 be provided on the Apple App Store until these new versions 2.x.x get addressed. Update: RF released version 2.5.5 today. Downloaded and installed the version on my iPhone. Tested. Have yet to have this version 2.5.5 fail in communicating and working with my PMX-1.
UPDATE: Be Aware! Appears that anyone with the RF Connect app and within Bluetooth range of a PMX-1, (and potentially any other RF device that support RV Connect remote control), can access anyone’s PMX-1, ….turn it on, and/or control anyone’s PMX-1 without authorization/ permission (no authorization paring or pin controls access controls).

### 1/5 — Latest update broke it

*2023-03-10, version 2.5.3*

The latest update broke an app that had been working without issue. Now the app completely forgets what it is connected to and no longer controls the head unit until you have it search and refind it. Not sure if triggered by Bluetooth usage, but that is what we use it for most - play fine, but can no longer control it when done.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2023-03-09, version 2.5.3*

Won’t connect, it’s not even formatted for the phone. Buttons are out of view.

You can manipulate (zoom in/out) the view to make it connect. Once connected it will work.

### 1/5 — Not connecting

*2023-03-08, version 2.5.3*

New version doesn’t connect to device anymore.

### 1/5 — App won’t open now

*2023-03-08, version 2.5.3*

Great QC just updated and app won’t open at all now.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No longer works

*2026-07-26, version 4.0.3*

App used to work to control audio for aux, BT etc but now the app is broken.

### 1/5 — Used to work

*2026-07-03, version 4.0.3*

Had this app in my phone to control the audio system in my RV, worked ok for the most part for 4+ years and yet today it decided not to connect, at all. Deleted, reinstalled app and won’t even “find” the PMX1. My phones Bluetooth shows ROCKFORD PMX and connects, but will NOT show in app. And since there is no stand alone remote for the PMX1 this is my only way to control it without standing in front of it.

And to top it off, I click “Contact Support” in the app, nothing. Absolutely nothing happens.

In the 90s ROCKFORD FOSGATE was top notch in car audio, what happened?

### 1/5 — Can not connect to PMX-1

*2026-07-03, version 4.0.3*

Title says it all. Phone connects, but cannot connect with the app to the head unit to use as a remote.

### 1/5 — Needs work again

*2026-06-24, version 4.0.3*

I cannot even open the app anymore

### 1/5 — Terrible App

*2026-06-13, version 4.0.3*

It is so lame and useless it does not connect even though it finds the app it constantly shows “OFF”. This is the preferred app for a fire tv hate it absolutely hate this app

### 1/5 — PMX-RGB

*2026-05-26, version 4.0.3*

No where in this app does it let you connect to the LED controller.

### 1/5 — Sucks!

*2026-05-20, version 4.0.3*

Absolutely won’t connect to PMX 1

### 1/5 — IPhone 17 pro issues

*2026-03-29, version 4.0.3*

I just upgraded from the iPhone 14 Pro to the IPhone 17 Pro and cannot even get this app to open.

### 1/5 — TMA-1000x4I not recognized???

*2025-10-26, version 3.0.35*

I have a TMA-1000x4I, but the app recognizes it as a TMA-800. This is creating all sorts of playback issues. Is there a fix for this???

### 1/5 — It’s absolutely worthless

*2025-07-22, version 2.8.5*

I totally understand the 1 star reviews now. This app is worthless. All it does is power on/off my RV stereo. I’ll get up and walk the 2 feet to do that. Waste of space on my iPhone.

## Most praised reviews (5 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works great

*2026-04-03, version 4.0.3*

App has worked consistently to help change the speaker lights

### 5/5 — It does the trick

*2025-09-28*

I needed this app so I wouldn’t have to keep opening the drawer to access the speaker control knobs. At first I was concerned based on the reviews, but though this app is very basic, it works!

### 2/5 — Not User Friendly!

*2023-09-28, version 2.8.5*

Difficult to set up unless you have a PHD in Rockford! The hoops that you have to jump through are crazy for the setup! Then they do not stay when you go to use it again!

### 2/5 — Need to update software

*2023-04-15, version 2.5.7*

I’m have the same issue referenced in previous review. This app was working a week ago, but now has become unstable. It’s not able to maintain a Bluetooth connection. Please repair and release an new update.

### 2/5 — Waste of time good potential

*2021-04-06, version 1.2.34*

Apps would not hook up to my phone or my dads. Concerned the app doesn’t work.
