You now need an account to use the app (and ‘Sign In With Apple’ doesn’t work at all). And, now, I’ve not been able to play a single video on my Apple TV. ### 3/5 — Used to love it- now it doesn’t work *2021-07-22, version 2.7.3* For years I’ve adored this app. Great content and easy fast clips. The app was easy to use and my go to for a long time. Now there’s nothing but issues. I hardly open it anymore just knowing when I do It’s going to freeze up or not play at all. It cycles through a ton of videos without playing them- and sometimes it’ll play audio from a different video. Or it’ll just stop working and I’ll have to again and again grab the remote and forward through. Stupid. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling so many times. No luck. I also have friends who have had the same issues. What is going on?? ### 3/5 — Almost... *2020-11-02, version 2.6.1* The idea of the app is brilliant but I feel they’re letting a great thing slip away. I’ve been using Rheo for about 3 years now and Lately it’s been unwatchable and crashes 3 seconds into watching anything. Sometimes it doesn’t crash, when that doesn’t happen, I’m stuck with the same news stories from America repeating over and over (with only 5-6 of them being different from each other). Including world news and centrist news would be ideal rather than just liberal news media outlets like Newsey. Pls fix the app ### 2/5 — End of videos are cut off *2019-11-25, version 2.1.4* Many clips don”t play to the end, so mid-sentence the next video plays, and you can’t go back to see the last bit because videos aren’t isolated. If I open app and tap the second icon, funny, it takes me to, move, EVERY TIME!! Music videos are not comedy. Loses your place if you minimize the app. No PiP. On AppleTV, if you leave the app audio continues to play. The play/pause button is too small, I click to pause and the video backs up instead. ### 4/5 — Daily use just 2 complaints *2019-09-14, version 2.1.4* I love this app in fact it’s where I get most of my news. However, that being said, I do have 2 complaints and the first I the pause button. I was Rheo at work where I have down time and just have to watch a camera but if someone comes up I too have to get up and go which is super hard when it’s hard to press the pause button I end up missing several stories by the time I get back to my phone. And the second it The is a little bug when I try to select a type of video example is when I select inform it takes me all the way to taste and sometimes it does it over and over. But those are my only complaints and really I can live with them but I kinda feel like the maker should know. ### 2/5 — Liked the concept, that’s it. *2019-07-10, version 2.1.3* I don’t know if this app is for another niche sector a lot of people seem to like it but I couldn’t bring myself to finish any video I was presented. Shuffled content from the internet Reddit, YouTube and whatever’s trendy mixed in with current events. At the end of the day catered content is always going to be that vs searching for something you are actually interested in and not something you “stumble upon.” I frankly thought the vids where going to be way shorter than presented for my first vid I got some 8 min nonsense which I didn’t really care for and I was trying to tie it with the mood they sold me and I just couldn’t figure it out. 😵👎🙃 ### 4/5 — Vimeo issue *2019-03-31, version 2.1.2* I already really enjoy the app, but I have one problem; I don’t understand why when a Vimeo video pops up, it won’t play? Did I miss something? Do I need to also have Vimeo downloaded to play those videos? Other than that, I think this app is awesome. ### 4/5 — UX mars a brilliant, innovative way to watch TV *2019-03-07, version 2.1.1* Rheo might be the best new way to watch video. Its new interface allows you to choose moods, and its AI can surface deep cuts, run a basic emotional sequence of three or four videos, and generally keep you happy for 5-min to 12-minute video bites. It's worth making the video scroller interface larger and pause / FF / RW better touchfeel. ### 4/5 — Speed control and subtitles *2019-02-05, version 2.0.6* Wish the app had speed control, within the app. I don’t have much time so speeding up videos would allow me to see more in less time. Now u need an account (that doesn't bother me) but if you wanted to exit the app only way is force exit, back button wont work as it will keep bringing you to the login screen and if your using a smart remote,(i.e samsung smart tv remote) good luck trying to force exit. ### 1/5 — Update 2.8 broke everything! *2021-11-14, version 2.8* Was working fine until I just updated. Now, no videos will play! This the app is useless! Also, hate the new layout. What happened to the “Mix” category? Within seconds of choosing “funny” setting, I am assaulted with what the left calls “comedy”. Continuous stream of Colbert, Noah, and an army of deep state cronies. No thanks. ### 1/5 — Not actually funny *2019-05-25, version 2.1.3* I only downloaded this app in hopes to watch some funny videos that will make me feel good. However there is only a very small selection of “funny” clips, and since they are 99.99% late night shows and political stuff, none of them is actually funny. (I am neither “left-wing” or “right-wing”, I came here to watch feel-good funny videos, not propaganda. I mean, I‘m not a Trump supporter either, but ask yourself: does making fun of him honestly makes you happy? Or do you laugh on the surface but actually feel bitter and angry on the inside? Big fail on the developer’s part if they honestly want to make people feel good using their app.) Also saw one “funny” clip with three black girls arguing with each other in a parking lot. How the hell is that supposed to make people feel good??? If that’s supposed to be “funny entertainment”, no wonder the world is so full of angry, negative people nowadays. ### 1/5 — Don’t trust this app for clean content. *2019-04-30, version 2.1.3* While there is a setting within the app to disallow adult content, within probably only two minutes, I was served up some very sexually explicit language in one of their presented videos. Most unappreciated. I have quickly gone elsewhere. ### 1/5 — Propaganda *2019-04-11, version 2.1.3* Read all the 1 star reviews about politics and propaganda. They are true. Keep this garbage. ### 1/5 — Assaulted with offensive content on 1st app open *2019-01-27, version 2.0.5* Opened for first time and I’m assaulted by offensive Stephen Colbert content running in the background that i can’t turn off. Truly distrusting that your app would push users into such hateful and distrusting content without me even logging in or turning something on. It really does what it says it does, I love it :-) ### 5/5 — My favorite app for surfing Apple TV *2020-11-15, version 2.7* I Highly recommend rheo! I am constantly introduced to new content and interests. The videos really are impressively curated. AND No commercials. Some glitches appeared months ago on the Apple TV. There's no way to exit the slideshow once you get to the final slide. Can't even use the app. Update: This happened after an update. Uninstalling and then reinstalling the app fixed this. That’s surprise is quit refreshing yet I’m not sure of this one request. Which to add in a option to select channels and keep them in a list to go there occasionally and naturally the reason for not being firm with that thought could defeat purpose of this being a box of chocolates.
