### 4/5 — Great App but

*2026-01-25*

I think this is a great sounding app. I just recently purchased the app and I’m still learning its functionality. I gave it four stars, because it would be great for the app to have a stage preset selection for live playing, like most other amp sim apps. Also, it would be great if the developers add a setting where the app stays open and prevents the iPad screen from locking.

### 4/5 — Grande app , mas.....

*2025-06-07, version 1.7.5*

### 5/5 — Best apple amp sim

*2024-12-03, version 1.7.5*

I have expensive ones and some more affordable this performs as good as any.

### 4/5 — Great sounds but unstable.

*2024-12-01*

I’ve tried all the guitar apps on the App Store but, out of the box, this gives me the exact sounds I’ve been looking for. However… it seems to crash regularly when switching through presets, on loopy pro and in AUM, and I presume others.

Developer, if you read this, I’d be happy to beta test for you and send you the crash reports if that would help development. I would love to see this stable as it could be used more confidently in live performances then.

### 5/5 — Un bijou

*2024-11-26*

### 5/5 — Great ITB tone for endless possibilities

*2024-08-21*

Like any rational guitar player, my GAS for amp sims will be never ending but this comes really close to making me rethink buying them now. I try out a lot of good ones but keep coming back to this, it really has all the tools I need to get some great tones and the IR implementation is probably my favorite on iOS. The EQ is very useful as well and the convolution reverb is great so I can throw some spring reverb at the end of the chain. Excellent work.

### 5/5 — Still having issues after issue keeping Rhino on GB/Logic iphone13 IPad Pro (2024)

*2024-08-07, version 1.7.5*

My favorite amp by far will no longer load on my iPad Pro ‘24 Running Latest update… Nor on iPhone 13 with latest update? I have tried every amp and they NONE compare… and all my guitars use it as an Auv3 … but WILL NOT load!!!! I’m not sure why they changed the icon, even though that doesn’t make any difference… but I thought the original icon was perfect!!! If this isn’t on them but something Apple did then; Why does apple keep forcing devs to change??? This sucks… need to work and have to look for another amp!!!

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2024-07-31*

I’ve tried almost every iOS amp app there is and this seems s hands down the best as far as tone and all of the options. Even the default rig is amazing. Thanks guys

### 5/5 — O melhor disparado

*2024-07-29, version 1.7.5*

### 3/5 — NO SUPPORT

*2024-07-28, version 1.7.5*

There is no app support. App support button opens a blank Safari page.

### 5/5 — Epic

*2024-07-17, version 1.7.5*

Super cool thanks for updating app I use it on an iRig and fender gtx100 sounds way better now

### 4/5 — Sounds great, but…

*2024-06-17*

Rhino is a great, simple amp sim that does what it says on the label. No complaints, there. My issue comes when I use it as an AUV3 plugin for LoopyPro. It takes up about 40 percent of my iPads ram. So I have to ditch it. If I just needed an amp sim to play live, this would cover it!

### 5/5 — une merveilleuse découverte !!!

*2024-06-15*

Rhino m'a envouté.

### 5/5 — Why hasn’t the Devs at Aurora DSP allow Rhino on the “Mac” store

*2024-04-16*

Why can’t Aurora DSP release their AMAZING IOS “Rhino” amp sim app on the “MAC” AppStore?
It is a simple check mark on the developers side to ADD this app to

1: IOS iPhone (check)
2: iOS iPad (check)
3: iOS Silicon M1-M2 chip Mac (NOT CHECKED)

Why not just check that for M1-M2 users!
Because when working on my 2024 iPad Pro, and then if I jump to my MacBook Pro M2 …I have NO Rhino in my plugin list!
So it gives me a pop up that says
“Rhino is not available for Logic Pro X”

So I have to find a plugin to match. I have to use something that I don’t want to, so WHY not release the Rhino app?

So with Apple releasing the new silicon chip, making a laptop “MacBook pro” have not only the capabilities of a normal laptop but the M1-M2 chip allows the laptop to use ALL THE APPS from the App Store that our iPad and iPhone IOS uses!!!

This takes music production to a WHOLE NEW level…
Three things in any product model is:

Need
Access
Cost

Apple has hit all the markets and checks all the boxes! Access and ease of use, as well as cost has made the APP STORE the number one place shopped! Even more than the grocery store!
Apps are very inexpensive compared to their “software” counterparts!

Is this why Aurora hasn’t checked the box to allow the app to be used on the M1-M2 AppStore?

Is it that the Aurora DSP developers think they will lose money if they allow the M1-M2 users to use the “Same” app from the App Store?
If so that sucks… and is a torn off!

The love I have for Rhino amp simulator makes me NOT WANT TO USE any other “Amp Simulator” but pushes me to make a decision to use ANOTHER amp! Ugh!!!

Please allow the Rhino app to be released to the MAC App Store!!!

### 1/5 — Previous projects don't work after update (1.7.5)

*2024-07-28*

All my GarageBand projects on iOS that use this plugin don't recognize that this app is installed and doesn't load. I have to manually reload it for each instrument across multiple projects and it doesn't remember the presets that I set! My songs will never sound the same. SMH|

**Developer response:** I'm sorry that you encountered this problem. We have developed a solution that restores settings if the project hasn't been reloaded yet. If you experience any issues, we recommend contacting us through our main website auroradsp.com or via private messages on Facebook. We have added many new features compared to the old 2022 version, which might have caused issues with loading projects.

### 1/5 — No output sound, crashes with Focusrite

*2024-04-25*

If I start up the app with my Focusrite Scarlet 2i4 plugged in, it crashes and stays at a black screen forever.

Aside from that, there’s no way to control where to output sound. I want to use my iPad as a speaker but I’m only able to if I do not plug in an interface at all - which of course means it’s unusable as I would have to use the microphone and create interference.

A waste of $10.

### 1/5 — CONFIRMED: Doesn’t Work with Axe IO

*2024-04-22, version 0.9*

I thought perhaps that the user review mentioning that AXE IO doesn’t work with maybe a problem with user error. I bought the app and and can confirm that it is indeed broken. The AXE IO does a couple of power cycles and then the app crashes. When I disconnect the I it opens up just fine.

### 1/5 — Great app…

*2024-03-28*

…but seemingly abandoned by the developer. Crashes constantly in Logic. Best to avoid.

### 1/5 — Do not buy, this is now 100% DEAD

*2024-02-22*

DO NOT BUY this is abandonware now. Used to sort of work ok under earlier versions of iPadOS although it was always glitchy. The developers only released it to get traction on the desktop and then left it to die. No updates in years, no responses. It no longer works - in standalone mode, it hangs on launch with a black screen; as a plugin it crashes either instantly or within seconds.

**Developer response:** The new version 1.7.5 supports all DAW releases and adds several new features and IRs.

### 1/5 — Too bad..

*2023-11-08*

Was really digging the massive sounds…now Rhino will not load in
Garage band…it worked ok for a couple weeks. Now strangely dead on iphone 8 and ipad mini. How could it become unstable and stop altogether? Bizzare. The developers support link from app store is a blank page.
Consider this a refund request…please direct me on how to process.

**Developer response:** The new version 1.7.5 supports all DAW releases and adds several new features and IRs.

### 1/5 — Won’t work with Axe I/O

*2023-06-08*

This app works fine with my other audio interfaces, but not IK Media’s Axe I/O. This is the only app I’ve found that the Axe I/O will not work in. It works fine in TH-U, Bias FX, AmpliTube and others on my IPad Pro running the latest IOS. Asked for support and got a response that a ticket was created. Almost a month now and no follow up. Customer support doesn’t exist. Beware.

### 1/5 — Sounds like four bucks.

*2022-07-29, version 0.9*

Possibly the worst tone I’ve ever had.

### 2/5 — Ok - working again for now

*2025-02-01*

When this first came out, I thought it was unique and a steal for the price. A reimagining of the guitar “amp” app, without visual skeuomorphisms and taking things into new sonic territory (although it is still based on a conceptually skeuomorphic chain). Not simulating the old, more like a different and fresh take. Sadly, the app has been glitchy from the go, and unusable for well over a year (two?), despite a flood of complaints. After the last update, this is working ok again, but the concerns about support and developer engagement remain.

*2024-06-08*

Doesn’t currently work with Logic

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — My new favorite plugin

*2026-03-08, version 1.7.5*

This is the best sounding amp sim I’ve ever used. I’ve used many others that sound good, but Rhino and mammoth sound fantastic! It’s so responsive

### 5/5 — Essential iOS guitar multi amp

*2025-10-18*

When you outgrow tonebridge, tonex, GigFast, and primo, get Rhino. There’s lots to learn here before moving onto a multifx app (I recommend yonac's) and the open world of auv3 and hosts (AUM/audiobus/sessions/loopy). Suggestions: ability to lock input and gate settings (or any section) when changing presets, and easier to tap on/off buttons. (I have to turn off the input each time I use a built in preset because the gate/input settings don’t fit my pickups.)

### 5/5 — Still my go to Guitar Amp on iPad iPhone and iMac

*2025-09-30*

Back when issues were happening with all DSP iOS apps, I had to find something bc Rhino wouldn’t load… I searched high and low, I downloaded almost every NEMBRIN metal amp, BIAS, and all the IRloaders and NONE matched the KILLER sound that I could get from Rhino!
I’m so glad that they got their issues resolved!

**Developer response:** We sincerely apologize for the issue with AUv3. We highly value your work and thank you for using our tools. Aligning the Rhino iOS version with the desktop version was very labor-intensive, and we encountered some technical problems. Since yesterday, version 1.7.5 is available, which has fixed the AUv3 recognition error. Once again, we apologize. 🤘

### 5/5 — Incredibly good value

*2025-08-12*

This punches far above its weight. It reminds me a little of Polychrome DSP’s McRocklin suite which cost a darn site more than $6. I like the interface that allows you to expand all the relevant elements. Sounds great though the stock presets have needed a little tweaking for my tastes - which is easily done then saved in user presets. Reverbs and echos sound excellent and works seamlessly with loopy pro. Best value $6 I’ve ever spent.

### 5/5 — Surprisingly Exceptional

*2025-08-04*

This is imo, the fastest, easiest, most economical way to get a highly configurable high gain, high quality guitar sound. The richness of the distortion is thick and complex. A fantastic new design interface. Highly recommended!

It might be a bit tricky to get a chimey AC 30 sound that dirties up when you raise the volume on your guitar…but I’m working on it, lol.

### 5/5 — Endlich

*2025-07-06*

### 5/5 — Amazing Bang For Buck

*2025-07-05*

As as professional player for 25 years, checking out modelling since it was a thing I gotta say that this is an amazing bang for a buck. I was actually looking for something that would replace my gear on „cheap“ gigs. Honestly this one does not though (still looking), BUT especially the Metal Sounds are incredibly well done. The cleans..well they are always an issue if you are used to the premium league like axe fx and other high tiers.
At this pricepoint it‘s a steal and easily keeps up if not better with any of the other 10+ apps I‘ve tried so far.

### 5/5 — Kobraa

*2025-04-02, version 1.7.5*

Waiting for Kobraa on ios

### 5/5 — Great app for guitarist

*2025-02-19, version 1.7.5*

Spent hours on it. Great sound

### 5/5 — Awesome!!!!

*2025-01-13, version 1.7.5*

OMG!!! Everything that I needed to do fire guitars on GarageBand.

That was a really good surprise!
