## What is Rhomboard?

Rhomboard is a keyboard based one a simple principle: larger keys are just plain better.

Using rhombic shaped keys, Rhomboard keyboard packs more keys and bigger keys than a traditional rectangular keyboard to deliver a typing experience which is more fluid and more consistent.
With Rhomboard keyboard you can type faster and more accurately.

Features:
- big keys!
- rhombic keys
- auto-correct with or without prediction (and yes it can be turn off), with spelling and composition rules for 50000+ words
- resizable, from very big to very small
- themes, change color and style
- per-language keyboard allowing your device to remember which language you use for each conversation

MORE ACCURACY
Large keys means less mistake while typing, pure and simple. Rhomboard keyboard diamond shaped keys are 20% larger than keys on a typical keyboard.

The keys are also perfectly aligned both vertically and horizontally. This is important when typing because with touch keyboards the finger inevitably hide the key you want to type. With Rhomboard keyboard diamond alignment, you can accurately guide your finger using the rows and columns.

Finally, keys have a long touch effect so your eyes can see which key you just typed while your finger is moving to the next key.

MORE SPEED
Rhomboard keyboard space efficient layout allows to display numbers and most common punctuation symbols at all time. So you can type most messages and sentences without ever having to switch layouts. And for those extra symbols that you are always looking for, like currencies, Rhomboard presents them all in one logically organized layout. No more layout jumping to find the #, & or @ characters.

MORE CONTROL
Is the keyboard too big for that app you love? Or do you want even larger keys? Just resize Rhomboard keyboard by panning up and down with two fingers.

Don't like the color? change Rhomboard keyboard color and style with one of the built-in theme.

MORE SECURE
Rhomboard keyboard does not require the "Open Access" privileges. This means that it cannot send your keystroke to a remote server or to other undesirable destinations. Your text go to the only place that matters: your app.

### 1/5 — Please add an azerty layout and swipe ability

*2022-10-03*

It looks like the developer no longer supports the app.

### 5/5 — Excellent!

*2020-11-11, version 1.299792.458*

I think this is a work of genius. The developers seem to have thought of everything. I thoroughly recommend it.

### 1/5 — Waste of time and money.

*2019-03-04, version 1.101010*

Thinking this keyboard would be a benefit, I found that it wasn't as the pre-emptive function was way off and the auto spelling was absolutely annoying as it didn't function correctly. Also it had a mind of its own and couldn't access emojis without going back to the original keyboard. Too many gimmicks which hinder rather than help. Avoid.

### 3/5 — It was okay but can't learn words.

*2018-09-18*

I could not find a way to add words to its dictionary. It turned Google to boogie thirty times and that was it for me.

### 4/5 — This is the best free keyboard for people with mobility impairment on Iphone

*2017-11-17*

I am disabled and have extremely limited use of my hands. From day one with my iphone I have pined for a larger predictive keyboard. .My only request for the developers (okay 2) are:1. Please add intelligent next word prediction and key echo.

With those 2 added features it would address nearly every major disability category.

I am very impressed that it has word completion because most free large keyboards don't have it.

I am dyslexic as well, so the lines under each symbol are helpful (even if my brain inverts some letters, the line indicates where the bottom of each letter is meant to go).

The spell checker needs some work in that it missed some of my mistakes.

Also, the symbol key stays on until you turn it off it (it would be better if the layout switched back to letters after the needed symbol was selected). Still, it is a great keyboard.

App designer please note: I would be willing to pay up to say 15 dollars for intelligent next word prediction and key echo( eg where each key is spoken as it is typed)

My reply to what the developers said in response to my review

Thanks for the reply!
An alternative to next word prediction might be an abbreviation expandor that the user can set up and define the abbreviation.

I have one on my desktop computer. It took a lot of time and effort on the front end but I put a modified version of the abbreviations that are used in contracted Braille.

Now if I am on my computer and I need to type " can you come tonight? "... I input: " c y cm tn?" My computer expands each abbreviation when I type space.

Hopefully it is clear how an abbreviation expansion feature could allow for fewer key presses, the way word prediction would. However I think it would be be easier to it is a dialog box with 2 colloums 1 says "abbreviation " on top. The other says "expanded word or phrase"...

The main reason why I think it is perhaps easier than prediction is that there are a lot of free ones for windows but prediction always costs a lot.

If you did go with the abbreviation expansion idea it would probably help people if you say something about using Braille abbreviations and link to a reference list of those because most people would be unaware of how to use the expansion feature to shorten almost all typing

**Developer response:** Thank you for your kind feedback. Next word prediction is definitely on my roadmap but it is a particularly challenging feature. Sticky mode for the symbol page is significantly easier, I could add that as an option. When it comes to key echo, I believe this can be done easily. It is definitely a very interesting feature.

### 4/5 — Good keyboard

*2017-03-15*

Any updates? This keyboard is a good alternative of the stock one. But it will be awesome if it has the swiped options.
More power.

### 2/5 — Resize keyboard

*2017-03-15*

How in the name of sanity can,the keyboard be resize. Swiped every where. Went to thing can't see what I'm typing Hate it. Ready to can itevery possible setting. Covers ever

**Developer response:** This is an issue with older apps (those not updated for iPhone 6 screen size) where the keyboard will be cropped on the right side. Unfortunately, there is no workaround but I have fixed this now and it should be on the App Store in 2 weeks.

### 4/5 — Good

*2017-03-15*

Good app, please add Vietnamese (Telex)

### 3/5 — Needs a little work

*2017-03-14*

At first glance I really liked the idea but unfortunately it doesn't feel natural typing with this layout. The up/down, zigzag motion would take time and patience to become accustomed.

I'm running into a problem where the right side of the keyboard is cut off (number 8 all the way down through the return key). It appears to happen ONLY with older 32 bit apps but it's worth noting.

Autocorrect has frustrating glitches despite double clicking the space bar to ignore. Sometimes it adds an unwanted character or refuses to leave a word as-is. These problems are more frequent when you go back later to rewrite something. It also has more trouble when symbols are used.

The shortcuts and features offered by this keyboard are very useful! I wish it had an option for square keys and played nice with my other apps :)

iPhone 6s+, 10.1.1

### 1/5 — Way too awkward

*2016-05-31*

Will probably end up deleting this app. Too awkward. The layout does not work well in portrait , which is pretty much how I use my phone.
