Most notably is the “Phrases”. It’s not on the app. Also “Related Words” is absent from the app. Will they be added in a later release? Thank you. ### 4/5 — Great app but one suggestion... *2025-02-02, version 2.7* I love this app and have found it really useful for songwriting. I do have one suggestion though: I would love to see a mode where you can type in a word, and it brings up a table (like the one I see on the web version) that lists rhymes and near rhymes in order of closeness. Not sure if I just haven't found a way to do it directly on the app yet. I don't like how, whenever I want to find near rhymes, I have to switch to the web version to bring up the table. It just feels clunky and would really appreciate if it were implemented into the app itself. Now the same thing happens on my paid version! It makes the app impossible for me to use. What’s going on? ### 3/5 — Not bad. If you’re a lyricist, get something better. Lacks nuance. Feels like someone just made a few lists around phonetics and then never updated it or refined it. I regret paying for it. ### 4/5 — Great! Except for one thing… *2024-06-05* I was always using the Rhymezone website, and it seemed worth buying their app after a while. It is set at a reasonable price and has several features that I believe are absent from the website. However, the main reason I loved the Rhymezone website was that you could go into the “advanced search” for rhymes, and there, you would have all the rhymes listed according to their rhyme rating (how accurate of a rhyme they were). It would give you the meter, the popularity, the category, you could filter them and search inside search results. Honestly, it was beautiful. But the app doesn't have that. You can click a link to go to the website from the app, but my entire reason for buying the app was for the “advanced search” feature. It’s still a great tool and the best out of most of the rhyming apps I've tried. This app is probably the most valuable app on my iPhone tbh 🙏🏾 ### 5/5 — Not Just For Mimes, I Mean Rhymes! *2023-10-18* I spend a good deal of time writing, or in attempts to do so. RZ [and an etymological app, Etymonline] are two mobile apps I often use on my phone while writing on my computer. I like using RZ as both a personal and professional tool. About half my writing and editing time is devoted to journal articles, social media posts, course manuals, etc. The other half of is in working to write good poems, even for those in which rhyme is unimportant. Recently I noticed once again that I keep using the app to go back and forth between RZ and the others applications I use to edit or compose text. RZ lets me choose to search for words that rhyme with the word I’m starting with, certainly. (This may be especially fun for those who like their rhymes slanted). But you may also select a search based on any of the following criteria: Rhymes, Near Rhymes, Same, Consonant Sound, Homophones, Similar Sound, Synonyms, Antonyms, Related to Meaning. I found that last criterion to be surprisingly useful. You may also sort by combinations of criteria! RZ updates over time have been useful. I especially like the pop-up choices for where to retrieve and display definitions from within the app. ### 5/5 — Cheat code ! *2023-09-28, version 2.7* Amazing tool. The best . I tried using Chat gpt Ai to give me rhyming words and this app does way better . ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Not an ad free experience *2026-06-11* I bought the app with the understanding it would be an ad free experience. There’s even an instruction that indicates you merely need to click on the logo for an ad free experience when going online from within the app. These are not my results. When going online, they are an intrusive amount of ads that render the experience rather useless, particularly if you are looking to keep the creative juices flowing– having to constantly avert your eyes from ever-changing advertisements really kills the flow. Am I doing something wrong? ### 1/5 — False advertising *2026-06-09, version 2.7* “We also updated the browsing of rhymezone.com within the app to make it more ad-free” Only trouble is, it’s crawling with ads - 4 at a time. I’ll just delete this and use the web page directly, at least I can block the ads then ### 1/5 — After searching for words, affiliated with blizzard *2026-03-08, version 2.7* I couldn’t help but notice there was a 8 letter word “blackout” yet the word “whiteout” wasn’t. This app does virtually nothing the website does not already give you for free, AND it has banner ads directly in your field of vision and a cluttered interface. I was hoping for enhanced features or a more useful presentation of the data. When I search for rhymes in the app, it narrows the search results down to a fraction of the rhymes available and simply offers a link to check online for more.
