## What is Rhythm Necklace?

See music from a new perspective with Rhythm Necklace, the playful yet powerful tool for improvisation and composition. Tap, flip and rotate simple shapes to explore complex polyrhythms. Gestural control of beat distribution algorithms allows for the step-by-step generation of rhythmic shapes. Layer intricate beats in a matter of minutes, then save them for later or export to MIDI.

- Adjust the length of each individual cycle to quickly create complex rhythmic ratios
- Use a collection of rhythm building algorithms and geometric transformations to create and morph your rhythm.
-Tap your tempo, use a slider for transitions, or manually type the global speed of your song
- Choose from a variety of pitched sounds and percussive sample sets.
- Quickly modulate between notes in four musical modes (pentatonic, major, minor, chromatic) and five octaves.

- Save your sessions and export them as midi. 
- E-mail copies of midi sessions to yourself. These can be opened and edited on most DAWs.

Being able to choose different midi channels for the 4 tracks is great - but it’s the transform options that bring the magic.

I have played hand drums for more than 50 years and have been looking for a graphic rhythm tool. It would be nice to see the instruments in concentric rings but maybe the next release (beggars/choosers). Great work, thanks!!

This app only works from my iPhone speaker.  It will not work with wired or Bluetooth headphones as far as I can tell. 

I wrote customer service and never got a response. Disappointed

You’ll have a lot of fun on this, it’s worth the 3 quid even jus for a tap around when you want but - why can’t it output the audio to earphones or speakers on Bluetooth!

This app provides a marvelously innovative approach to understanding and creating rhythmic patterns. It has profoundly changed how I think about music. 

 It’s hard to overstate the value and simplicity of the insights the app provides using these rotationally symmetric patterns.

It takes a little mind bending to wrap your brain around the possibilities, but it has now become an essential tool for me.

The mail functionality is broken and there isn’t an option to save/export a MIDI file to your file system. I tried my iPhone 13 with iOS 16.1.1 and an old iPad mini 2 with iOS 12.5.6. 

The app itself is fantastic aside from not being able to use the fruits of your labor. I really hope the original developer addresses these shortcomings or passes the app on to someone that can.
