## What is Rhythmus?

Rhythmus is a period tracker with a cycle calendar — plus a nutrition and training plan that changes with your cycle.

WHAT RHYTHMUS DOES

• Cycle and period calendar: log your period, see your cycle day and phase at a glance, with estimated ovulation and fertile window
• Nutrition plan: meals and nutrients matched to your current phase – omnivore, vegetarian, vegan – with a shopping list
• Training plan: workouts scaled to your intensity and training days, logged set by set
• Supplements: which nutrients matter in which phase
• Daily energy check-in: feeling low, and the app suggests a gentler session
• Weekly overview, symptom diary, cycle statistics from your own history

WHO IT IS FOR

For women who train and notice that the same session feels easy one week and impossible the next. Menstruation, follicular phase, ovulation and the luteal phase each ask for something different — Rhythmus takes that into account.

NO ACCOUNT, NO TRACKING

No sign-up, no registration, no ads, no subscriptions, no in-app purchases. Everything you enter stays on your device and is sent nowhere. The app works fully offline. From Settings you can export a backup at any time and restore it on another device.

WITH SOURCES

Every health statement in the app comes with a citation you can tap — straight to the study or fact sheet. Among others from the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition, the Journal of Medical Internet Research and the National Institutes of Health.

Available in German, English and Spanish.

Rhythmus is a free passion project.

Note: Rhythmus is not a medical device, not a contraception method, and does not replace medical advice.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.4.2 — 2026-09-08

A backup you don't have to remember

Rhythmus keeps everything on your device only, with no account and no server.
The catch: lose your phone and you lose your entries. So the app now writes a
backup to its own folder by itself, at most once a week. It travels with your
iOS device backup and comes back on a new phone.

Settings says where that stops: without a device backup the file is no help,
and it won't move your data to someone else's phone. "Download backup" is still
there for that.

Also

Small typography fixes in the German text.

### 1.4.1 — 2026-09-07

New: Reminders

Rhythmus now gets in touch on its own — for the energy check-in, on training
days and for supplements. Each of the three can be switched on separately, and
you set the time yourself.

New: History

A fourth tab under "Cycle" makes sense of what you have logged: cycle lengths
over recent months, how regular your cycle is, and how energy and symptoms are
spread across the phases. Only what is actually there gets evaluated — Rhythmus
needs at least five logged days before it says anything.

The setup has been rebuilt

We walked through the setup ourselves and found a few things that could not
stay as they were:

• "Last period start" was pre-filled with today's date. If you missed it, you
told the app your period had started today — and got the wrong cycle phase.
The field is now empty and required. If your phase never looked right: enter
the date again under Cycle and the app will recalculate.
• Weight, height and age were pre-filled with average values — on the very
screen that promises the numbers will fit you. Now empty.
• Clearing a number field put a 0 in it. 53 kg became "053", 168 cm became
"016", along with a wrong calorie target. Fixed, and impossible values can no
  longer be saved.
• After setup, five explanation screens covered the daily plan you had just
been promised. The tour now appears at the right moment.
• The app opened on the website's landing page, including "Get it on the App
Store". It now has a welcome screen of its own.
• Under "Training focus", pregnancy and postpartum were listed as "your focus"
even when neither applied. Special cases are now labelled as such.

Also fixed

• "Share Rhythmus" was sending a link that only exists on your own device.
• "Rate Rhythmus" did nothing at all.
• Your language choice was discarded when you left Settings.
• Opening Settings for the first time showed a red warning that notifications
were off — although you had never been asked.

And new in Help: "Further reading", with in-depth articles on the cycle,
training and nutrition

### 1.0.1. — 2026-09-05

New: Reminders

Rhythmus now gets in touch on its own — for the energy check-in, on training
days and for supplements. Each of the three can be switched on separately, and
you set the time yourself. Until now the prompts only appeared once you had
opened the app anyway.

New: History

A fourth tab under "Cycle" makes sense of what you have logged so far: cycle
lengths over recent months, how regular your cycle is, and how energy and
symptoms are spread across the phases. Only what is actually there gets
evaluated — Rhythmus needs at least five logged days before it says anything,
and it never extrapolates beyond your entries.

Fixed

• "Share Rhythmus" was sending a link that only exists on your own device.
  It now shares rhythmus.app.
• "Rate Rhythmus" did nothing at all. The button now opens the review page
  in the App Store.
• Your language choice in Settings was discarded when you left the screen,
even though the interface had already switched. It now applies immediately.

Also: "Further reading" in Help — in-depth articles on the cycle, training and
nutrition, built on the same sources as the app. And the address in the legal
notice has been updated.
