## What is Ricasso?

KEEP A GRIP ON YOUR COLLECTION

Ricasso is the catalog app for serious knife collectors. Every blade in your roll, organized the way a collector actually thinks about them: by maker, by steel, by acquisition, by what it's worth on the open market right now.

THE VAULT
Your full collection in one screen. Filter by status and sort by maker, model, value, condition, or vault number. Every piece carries its own page with photos, specs, acquisition record, and current estimated value, and the vault banner totals what you own at a glance. Now built for iPad, with a layout that uses the whole screen. Every knife earns two IDs the moment you save it: a personal vault number (RC-0001, RC-0002) and a globally unique serial (RCSO-XXXXXXXXXX) that follows the piece on every Bill of Sale.

REGISTER A PIECE
Add a knife with a UPC scan or by hand. Capture maker, model, variant, blade steel, blade length, country of origin, handle material and color, lock type, deployment, condition, acquisition price and source, proof-of-purchase image, and notes. Box-aware condition grades, BNIB, LNIB, LN no box, and clear used grades, read a piece's state at a glance. Rotate and straighten photos right in the app.

EBAY COMPS AND LISTINGS
On any piece, pull live eBay comparable prices: a low, median, high, and average with the underlying active listings as evidence. Free covers 5 knives; Collector-Lite and up are unlimited. When you are ready to sell, Collector posts a knife straight to your own eBay store, or generates a marketplace-ready listing for BladeForums, Whatnot, Facebook Marketplace, or r/knife_swap.

INSURANCE VALUATION (COLLECTOR)
Generate one clean PDF valuation of your whole vault, every piece and its value in a single schedule, ready to hand to your insurer.

BULK IMPORT (COLLECTOR)
Bring a whole collection in at once. Drop a CSV, paste a list, or import a spreadsheet, and Ricasso's parser maps the columns, normalizes the steel grades, and lands the rows as drafts you review one tap at a time. Your photos, prices, and serial numbers stay on your device.

BILL OF SALE, FREE
Hand a buyer a real PDF the moment money changes hands, generated against the piece's serial so the receipt and your ledger reconcile. Free on every tier.

DISPOSITIONS
Mark a piece Sold, Gifted, Traded, Lost, or Stolen, with the sale or trade record attached. Realized gain or loss rolls up on the dashboard. Archived pieces stay searchable but stop counting against your live vault value.

PLANS
Free: catalog up to 75 knives, one photo each, with live eBay comps on 5 of them. Collector-Lite ($9.99/yr): 150 knives, three photos each, unlimited comps. Collector ($29/yr): 400 knives, twelve photos each, plus bulk import, eBay posting, the Listing Builder, insurance valuation, and the web companion at ricasso.app/app. Need more room? A one-time +100 vault expansion tops up any paid tier. Export your full roll to CSV on any tier, any time.

YOUR COLLECTION, NOT THEIRS
No ads. No tracking for advertising. No data sale. Per-user security rules mean no other account can read your vault. Export to CSV any time. Delete your account in two taps.

FOR THE OVER-EQUIPPED
Built by a collector for collectors. If your top drawer outweighs your sock drawer, this is for you.

SUBSCRIPTIONS AND PURCHASES
Ricasso Collector: $29.00 per year, auto-renewing subscription.
Ricasso Collector-Lite: $9.99 per year, auto-renewing subscription.
Vault Expansion +100: $9.99, one-time purchase, not a subscription.
Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. A subscription renews automatically for the same period unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in your Apple Account settings.

### 5/5 — Exactly what I needed

I used to use a spreadsheet to track my collection. With this app it has everything I need plus more. It makes sorting my collection so much easier. The dev is super responsive. Love the app. Thanks Disco.

### 5/5 — Mandatory

*2026-08-01*

If you’re a serious collector and need to keep track of your collection and want an up to date valuation on your investment then this app is a must have. Easy to use with more features being added all the time. The paid features are well worth the cost.

### 1/5 — Paid for premium, got nothing

*2026-07-15*

I paid for the premium features, which are allegedly unlocked after 7 days after purchasing premium. It’s been a few weeks and still nothing. There’s no way to contact support except by sending “feedback”. Despite several attempts, no reply at all.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.5 — 2026-08-06

Speak to Add, rebuilt.

• Fix what it heard. The transcript is editable now — correct a mis-heard maker before you identify, and tap a suggestion when a brand comes back wrong.
• Identify a knife and the whole spec sheet fills. Steel, lock, grind, blade shape, country, weight — not just the two or three fields it was surest about.
• Everything you say gets captured. Where you got it, what shape it's in, the serial, the story behind it. Anything without a field of its own lands in Notes, in your own words.
• See it before it fills. A new review screen shows what was heard, what it matched and how sure it is, and every field it wants to write — marked as your words, catalog data, or an AI guess. Keep the lines you want and drop the rest.

Keep a grip.

### 1.4.3 — 2026-08-03

Post to eBay, unstuck.

• Fixed the "Finish eBay setup" dead end. eBay requires a shipping location that its own settings pages never let you create, so Ricasso now sets it up for you. Enter your ZIP once, then publish.
• Speak to Add, sharper: say a model number ("five three five") and Ricasso finds the exact knife from the catalog. Steel names and specs come back clean and consistent.
• New chips show which details came from you and which are AI suggestions. What you say always wins.
• Reliability fixes throughout.

Ideas or issues? Settings > Send Feedback. A real person reads every one.

### 1.4 — 2026-07-21

AI Capture is here. Describe a knife out loud and Ricasso drafts the whole entry for you to confirm: maker, model, steel, handle, lock, what you paid, and where you got it. Made for the customs and boutiques that never had a barcode. A Collector feature.

It's a first run, so it drafts and you confirm. Every AI-filled field is marked, and nothing saves until you review it.

We also sharpened steel and maker matching across the app, plus the usual round of fixes.

### 1.3.1 — 2026-07-12

SMARTER PRICE COMPS. Comps now match your exact knife, not just the name. Ricasso scores every eBay listing against your piece, filters out accessories, wrong models, and wrong versions, pulls in more listings, and shows a confidence score on each match.

NOT MY KNIFE. See a comp that isn't yours? Tap the X on any listing and it leaves your comps, and your prices, for good.

PHOTO ROTATE, FIXED. The rotate tool in a piece's Photos works again, no error.

MORE MAKERS. Forty more brands in the maker list, including DreamTech, so more pieces catalog by name on the first scan.

Plus fixes to email verification, eBay posting, and barcode scan data.

Keep a grip.

### 1.3 — 2026-07-02

Log offline. Add and edit knives with no signal, and everything syncs the moment you are back online. That is the headline for 1.3, but it is not the whole story.

- Copy to Drafts: same model, different scales? Duplicate a piece and tweak what is different. Specs carry over, photos stay behind.
- Weight, retail and links: log weight (oz or g), retail price (MSRP), and a link to the product page.
- Gain or loss at a glance: every piece now shows your lifetime gain or loss against what you paid.
- Filter your vault by maker: jump to one brand's pieces in a tap.
- 1,100+ makers: the list nearly doubled, from production houses to custom smiths.
- Smaller polish: "Blade Style" is now "Edge Style", clearer password rules at sign-up, tap to copy your Vault and RCSO IDs and serial, and a short guide on the comps screen explaining what the values mean.

Most of 1.3 came straight from your feedback. Keep it coming.
