The Richmond Police Department serves a diverse community of approximately 102,000 residents over a large geographic area that includes 32 miles of shoreline, numerous residential neighborhoods, an active port, significant industrial and technological resources, major retail and business centers, and several thousand acres of park land. Our department is dedicated to building strong relationships and partnering with the community in order to improve public safety. The men and women of this department are committed to high quality customer service, embracing technology and social media to maintain transparency and provide valuable and timely information.
