I have to delete app and download it again just to listen to it. Otherwise all you get is tap OK to restart error messages on repeat. ### 3/5 — Tap ok to restart *2025-12-07, version 1.1.4* Since the last update, I haven’t been able to get the player to work. There’s an error saying “tap ok to restart” but when I tap ok, the error reappears over and over again. Hoping you fix the bug in the countdown. I listened to the countdown every weekend and they are starting over on their own. The problem I am having is that when I tried to skip to the next track, it just keeps starting from the beginning of the countdown or playlist. It will not go to the next track and the pause button is not showing on the screen. Please fix. otherwise good app. ### 2/5 — Resume from last listened point?? *2024-01-16, version 1.0.59* It’s been years so I don’t hold out a ton of hope, but I really wish you could simply resume from the last played point in a channel. If the number of skips wasn’t limited to 6 this would not be an issue, but I almost never get to the end of a countdown because at some point I stop listening and when I resume it’s back to the beginning. *please please please* either remove the skip limit for Rick’s replays or figure out a way to remember the last played point! ### 2/5 — Disappointing *2023-03-04, version 1.0.54* I love listening to the Rick Dees countdowns from the 80’s. This app would be perfect but for one issue. If I don’t allow it to access the microphone, I get ‘Access Denied’ pop ups and the app will not play. I don’t give any app unfettered access to the microphone on my iPhone. I even tried turning on the access to start it and turn it off after the audio starts. Alas, that does not work. Two stars for the content, otherwise it would be Zero stars because of the microphone issue. Why does an app need microphone access in order to play music? I have deleted this. I’ll just listen to the weekend relays they do on my local radio station. ### 2/5 — The newest update *2022-10-16* With the newest update I have not been able to listen through a full show in order. on countdowns it jumps all over the place. ### 2/5 — Love the 80s edition—App is buggy and unreliable *2022-09-08, version 1.0.50* I am having significant trouble getting the app to work reliably. For some reason, it often freezes at the login page, causing me to close it and attempt to re-open it because it gets stuck. When it finally allows me to login and I go to the Rick Dees weekly top 40 80s edition it will frequently play two segments at the same time which is impossible to listen to. I end up having to delete and reinstall the app and go all the way through everything to get it to begin to work again. This is extremely frustrating for obvious reasons, especially considering my great excitement over the fact that this show is available after 40 years. I am so happy to be able to revisit these shows, but the app experience (and the inability to choose individual shows on demand) has been a HUGE letdown. I tried to send this message through the in-app feature but even that didn’t work, due to an “Internal Server Error.” ### 2/5 — Privacy issues *2021-07-12, version 1.0.43* While I love being able to listen to replays of the 80s and 90s countdowns, why in the world did you think it was necessary to require people to turn on their microphones in order to use the latest version of the app? Sorry, I don’t find this acceptable. ### 3/5 — Problems with channel playlist *2020-06-16, version 1.0.41* While I love the app for the 80s, 90s and 2000’s weekly top 40s, this app isn’t working properly when it comes to building your own channel. I have add over 100 songs to my new channel and I will playback the channel and I only hear a song I added play once every 4 or 5 songs. All the other songs I did not add to my channel. So if this issue isn’t fixed, it’s not worth listening to my channel as most of the songs are not ones I added or even know. ### 2/5 — No way to pick your countdown or pick up where you left off *2020-06-13, version 1.0.41* I like listening to the 90s countdowns. There doesn’t seem to be a way to pick which countdown you want to listen to. 1. Does the app always make you listen to the same countdown (in this case 6-12-99) anytime you want to hear a 90s countdown before you move to others? 2. Why can’t it pick up where you left off? 3. If I want to hear 90s countdowns, do I always have to listen to the 1999 countdown first? 4. Can’t I pick which countdown date from the 80s or 90s I want to hear? ### 3/5 — Great app...when it works *2020-02-26, version 1.0.41* I love listening to the old shows from the 80’s, 90s, and the 2K but this app crashes a lot and resets back to the beginning with no way to skip ahead to where you were before. ### 2/5 — Top ten for September 4 1987 *2019-09-07, version 1.0.40* I normally don't have any problems with the app but the current 80's show has errors in the top ten. It only played number ten. It played part of numbers 9,5,3 and 1. Quite frustrating for someone who spends 12 hours a week listening. Too many bugs on this app. How do you explain that after being on hour 3 part 2 the app suddenly goes back to hour 1 part 1 and you only have a limited number of skips to play with which means you have to hear parts of the program again? More control by the user would be great and a back button better. I love Rick’s program but it’s extremely difficult to listen with all these problems. Utter shame cause I love the countdown/show ### 1/5 — Waste of Time *2020-02-24, version 1.0.41* I write this review out of frustration with how it’s set up but after twice over the last few days I have been left with little choice. The interface of this app is horrible. Two days ago I made it to Hour 3 Part 1 then I accidentally closed the app which meant that I had to start from the beginning with limited skips. Finally restarted the countdown this morning on my way to the office, while using Apple Car Play and Waze to avoid traffic. Between the car and my desk the app closed itself which means that I have to start over once more. But this time I don’t have any skips as I used them this morning to get back to where I was or near, but now I have none. So I’m left with two choices, either start over again or just give up.
