If you buy rockets or rainbows, sometimes when u go to use them they won’t show on the board but it takes them off your count. If it wasn’t for them taking things you win and pay for and shorting you on them, I would’ve gave 5 stars. ### 3/5 — It used to be better *2022-04-03, version 1.8.3* This game has evolved over the past year but not in a good way. Some of the freebies, such as getting 2 free moves periodically , have been eliminated and I’m unable to accumulate any stars as I win games. The riddle game is as lame as it gets, so I seldom bother especially since I no longer get awarded any stars. Get Homescapes instead. Similar games, better storyline,, and they award you stars to help restore the mansion. ### 4/5 — This game is fun but… *2022-01-12, version 1.8.3* I really enjoy this game except for a few issues. First of all when you have finished the story line so far, you can’t earn stars or coins while you play. This is infuriating since you need so many stars for the stories once they are released. Also updates are very slow to release. I’ve been playing “competition” mode for weeks. I wouldn’t mind except for that fact I can’t earn stars or coins now either!! Does it have a limit on how many lives you get per session? Yes. Can you buy more lives using in game currency that can be purchased with real world money? Yes and yes, it is a free-to-play game and the developers need to make money. My issue is with the story. Every time you beat a level you get a star. Collect stars to progress in the story. Except I find the story an inane hand holding chore to progress through. The characters are awful, the plot discoveries are spoon fed at a predictable rate, and the story arcs are unsatisfactory. The main character you deal with Cyril from Archer, a grandiose chicken, a whinny kid, a grumpy guy, an arrogant guy, and the sheriff. All of whom are amazed at your ingenuity and dealing with the spoon fed discoveries. Simply awful. **Developer response:** Hello! Which is fine for a while, then get frustrated. I am in the competition and it hard to win the individual goal, to get rewards. Also, don’t get coins or stars any more! ### 3/5 — I want to keep playing but the game won’t let me! *2021-01-30, version 1.8.2* I like playing this game but now I’m stuck. My screen is stuck to one spot and I can’t pan the screen to go to my next location (which is off screen). This is relating to the “Who is the Murder” side quest. This error now makes the game unplayable. I tried to contact the developers but I need my support ID which I can’t access with the screen frozen! So developers, please fix this error!! ### 3/5 — Don’t leave the game or you’ll loose your progress!! *2020-11-11, version 1.7.2* Don’t leave the game or you’ll loose your progress!! When I’m playing the match 3 part of the game if I leave the app for even a second to respond to a text I loose all my progress because it resets the whole game! I’ve been a few moves away from winning and loose everything. I even lost all my progress on the police car challenge because it said I had used all my badges and moved me all the way from spot 9 to the beginning. I like this game a lot but I’m getting really fed up with this aspect. Also that the game stops giving coins once you complete all the match 3 games is super annoying and is an obvious tactic to have us buy in game coins with real money that I’m considering deleting the whole app in general. ### 3/5 — Forces close too often *2020-10-18, version 1.7.1* Be in middle of a level and it forces close making me loose either a life or time against my infinite lives. Wish that the timer/clock for infinite lives would pause while outside of game (while not playing). Also wish that when there’s 2 playing fields in a level and you create a booster and you don’t activate that booster before getting to the 2nd field that those boosters would transpose to the next field, if that makes any sense. ### 4/5 — Game is fun, but... *2020-10-15, version 1.7.1* I enjoy playing, but lately the game has been lagging and sometimes I don’t get the stars I earned. Other than that, great strategic game! Also, minor complaint. I feel the boosters are a little on the expensive side as well as adding additional moves. I would be more inclined to spend the money if they were cheaper 😊 UPDATE: Still 4 stars, but wondering why you’re not collecting coins in the story anymore? ### 3/5 — Ho hum game with glimpses of greatness. *2020-10-14, version 1.7.1* I wish I could give this more stars but I cannot. All uniqueness in this game is avoided fairly quickly. Standard Match-3 game. The difficulty ramps up, and that were the game get expensive if you get addicted, as the player is presented with a paywall to play more better. Underhanded but again fairly standard. The unique parts are sidestepped often. The story is pretty interesting, at least for a while, and I wish I could just focus on that, but it does not dive deep enough, and the candy-coated cut and paste puzzles and interface do not match the theme at all. I want Olivia to stop asking me if I want to turn on the notification for when my lives are refilled. 2. Why is it that I can have a full set of lives when gifted unlimited lives but at the end of the time I only have one life remaining? Most other games leave you at a full set. ### 4/5 — Here’s why-UPDATE *2020-09-30, version 1.6.1* The game is quite fun but the fees to get coins to pay for boosters is a bit steep. It will take some time to build “900 coins” for 5 extra moves/lives. There should be at least a ‘watch videoI’ option for 3 extra moves like on other match 3 interactive games. Is li my e to make more detective games then the matching part. Too many other games are doing that. Most ppl download the game thinking it’s the mystery part. Make that the key part. You won’t run out of the mystery games too quickly if you do that. & can spend more time designing and less time thinking of games. Also I think that this game is way to far ahead like in the puppet one you can’t find them that easily they should add like, how to track them and stuff. In order to advance, you need stars. In order to get starts you have to play a matching game. If you’re into games like that, by all means, download this app. You’re guaranteed to have fun. If you’re like me and don’t care for those types of games, avoid this at all cost. I gave this game 3 stars because, although it’s well put together and interesting, it’s just not the kind of game for me. ### 3/5 — Fun Game *2020-09-07, version 1.6.0* The game is very fun, and you want to keep playing. The only problem I have with the game is there are certain levels that are nearly impossible to pass unless you have power ups or get lucky with the way your pieces are laid out. I have been stuck on a level for two days now and it’s really just irritating at this point. Also with how many stars are required for certain parts of the story. It takes awhile to get them especially when you’re stuck on a level and don’t have any stars you feel like your endlessly playing for nothing and it gets very irritating. **Developer response:** Hi! It’s literally been maybe two weeks or more of on going competitions where players involuntarily participate in these events where we have to play levels and complete objectives for chances to win bonuses. However when the challenge events are enabled, players aren’t allowed to earn coins or stars in order to unlock the storyline chapters. Most matching games I’ve played at least allow you to do this while participating in the challenge. These challenges have been going on nonstop for two weeks or more and I am not getting any further along in the story which is unfair and just another way their pushing you to play more and more levels and use money to get coins used to purchases lives and bonuses rather than allowing to to earn them after completing each level. We will take it into consideration. ### 1/5 — One issue has ruined the game for me *2020-06-10, version 1.4.2* I enjoy the gameplay and the storyline. The levels are not overwhelmingly difficult and they give you several opportunities to earn power-ups. Yesterday I would have given 5 stars. However, last night I ran out of lives. No big deal I thought; I will just close the game and come back tomorrow. Today when I launched the game I still have zero lives. The countdown only works when the game is running! Each life takes 30 minutes to regenerate so you need to let the game run for 2.5 hours to get your lives back. If you switch away from the game to another app, your phone may decide the game is idle and close it which then stops the timer. I have many mobile games and this is the first one that has done this. The others reset the lives counter while the game is not running. At this point, I have no idea if I will play this again since I don't know when I will get more lives. I strongly encourage the dev team to fix this. I am hoping this is a defect and not a monetization feature (you can spend 900 in-game currency to buy more lives). **Developer response:** Hi! To get a refund you have to provide all this info from your purchase invoice that should be in your email. I never got a purchase invoice either, but I sure did have the money deducted from my account instantly. I had really been enjoying the game, but this instantly soured me. Also when you click contact us in the app support that doesn’t do anything either. I am done with this game, as I don’t like being taken. ### 2/5 — Very well made game, but it’s pay to play *2020-11-15, version 1.7.2* So this is a very well designed game. One of the best. The problem is, unlike similar games, there are specific levels where you have to pay in order to have a chance at beating the level. So you get about 100 levels for free and afterwards, it’s around $2 for every 20 levels. The good news is, there are literally hundreds of similar games in App Store. ### 2/5 — Frustratingly Difficult Levels *2020-09-10, version 1.6.0* The “Hard” and “Very Hard” levels are just way too difficult. There’s not enough going for it for me to persist at trying to beat these levels. I’ve been stuck at level 131 for over 3 1/2 weeks & I will be deleting the game. Why would I want to continue playing at a game that creates angst, frustration & madness? Also, as other players have written, the completion of the harder levels should definitely award more stars than the easier ones. There are many points made by other reviewers that are right on the money - speaking of which, perhaps that’s one reason levels are made impossible to win -one must spend money to pass levels! First, it suddenly took five wins to advance the “story” even a little bit, with severe difficulty spikes; the five more turns extension, which one is heavily steered towards, costs in game currency that accumulates slowly and must otherwise be purchased with real money. The characters were in the game offer disappointing looks otherwise (seriously? Thats just cheap!). Second, the story puzzles (find a clue, put together this or that doo-dad) looked promising but it soon became clear that they would never pose a challenge beyond sometimes featuring small interaction regions, requiring one to poke at the puzzle randomly. Third, the story and writing are dumb, not fun campy dumb, just either written by dumb people, for dumb people, or both. Finally, there is little to nothing gameplay-wise to distinguish this is game from myriad similar ones; even the power ups are basically the same as in various blank scape games. Even bought the $1.99 starter pack. Some levels you could get through and some you keep trying until you clear it. The thing that I didn’t like about the game is that to get to the next story line, you have to collect stars to spend. As you go through the levels and stories, the star level keeps increasing. I would have liked to complete the game, but I don’t have the time or patience. ### 2/5 — Upset *2020-08-06, version 1.5.1* I really like this game but they’ve changed it and now instead of getting like three or four puzzles that you have to do to move forward you have to do like 8 to 10 and it’s taking longer and some of the puzzles are really hard and the daily prizes generally just as our coins and not good things you can use on the puzzles and I don’t know if that so you have to purchase stuff which is kind of sad because I like this game and all I might end up deleting it with the change ### 2/5 — Was fun, but not since newest update *2020-07-19, version 1.5.1* Downloaded this app about 3 months ago and played pretty consistentlyn some levels are more difficult than others but nothing overly frustrating. Since the update to version 1.5.0, it’s now 6 stars to do complete certain tasks to move forward in the game? And if an task is in 2 parts, that’s 12 stars I gotta use. If the game is going to have different levels of difficulty for game play, make the more challenging levels have more stars to earn when completed. Earning one star per level, yet using 6 stars to complete one task makes ZERO sense. At least let players earn 2 or 3 stars for the hard and very hard levels. Love the extra goal oriented activities but there should be rewards along the way instead of it taking so long to get through all the levels. Would give the game 5 stars if the game gave you more opportunities to earn money and tools without purchasing. Also now noticing it’s giving me the same games over and over. I’ve gotten pretty far into it, and I have spent only a handful of dollars (Not because I HAD to, but because I wanted to keep progressing without waiting for hearts). This game’s story is interesting. Though a bit easy on that aspect, the actual levels you play to earn stars gets more and more complex the higher the levels go. The game alleviates the toughness with throwing a couple of easy levels your way, then going back up to its higher difficulty again. The only downside (which isn’t big and doesn’t deserve it to lose its 5 star rating) is that there’s not a lot of weekly or monthly events. It’s mainly just story mode, which, to me is cool. There’s episodes with plot. You need to fix objects, unlock trunks, put together torn paper, and collect important tools and clues. This is my new favorite game. I’m already on stage 391. Lots of fun events. Story is wacky but keeps you invested. I Iike how the mystery parts actually give you something to do as you follow the story, even if the clues are really simple to decipher, it adds another layer. My one request would be able to turn off the “hint” prompts that show up at crime scenes, I think it would be more fun to figure it out than just reading what to do. This game is different, the levels are just hard enough to be entertaining but not frustrating. I’ve been playing for about 4 months and have never hit a pay wall. The story is pretty interesting but if not super important if that’s not your thing. The puzzles to solve the crime are fun but not too challenging. So far it looks like there’s some paranoia activity going on in this game. We started playing it day before yesterday and I already love it.
