Losing all ride and route data after finishing a ride is frustrating, please fix the reliability issue ### 2/5 — OK if you never ride of mobile data range *2026-06-12, version 1.33.1* This is an example of an app which has a completely needless requirement for you to create an account and login so you can access your local property that you have just paid a large amount of money for. If when you launch the app it cannot connect to the servers. It complains that connectivity tells you your login has expired and demands that you login. This is of course utterly impossible if you are mountain biking anywhere exciting where mobile phones have no connectivity. This completely fails to understand mounted biking and the needs of their customers. ### 2/5 — Apple Watch app *2026-06-09, version 1.33.1* Really lacking a app for a Apple Watch like Bosch specialized the other mainstream bike manufacturers ### 2/5 — Recent update spoilt app *2026-05-06, version 1.33.1* This app worked ok 2024 then update 2025 made it worse, with connection issues especially when connecting when on WiFi app crashed when you left home WiFi. Recent update is terrible now it’s not recording distance travelled. When you pause for a stop route is lost. You can check for updates, perform system check, etc. You can lock and unlock the bike, and setup Apple “Where’s my…” Haven’t found anything that doesn’t work, so have concluded that this app is pretty good. ### 1/5 — No reading of distance. *2026-02-23, version 1.32.1* I have had my Liv in the shop twice to try and fix my app or upgrade as I do. Continual disappointment to track my ride when connected but works when not connected. Any help out there or please contact me. Not a good restart ### 1/5 — Very Far From Impressive *2026-01-26, version 1.32.1* Not seeing much benefit from this app, marketed as being something worth having. Firstly Giant don’t give any useful guidance on their e-bike display or app . I learnt more from YouTube than Giant on my £3.5k Explorer. Incidentally the bike lasted three days before a manufacturing defect left me bleeding on the ground and the supplied tires are not up to off-road tracks . The app complicates the on-bike display settings. Quicker and easier not to use the app. The navigation element is not worth bothering with, far better systems on my phone . You have to be Bluetooth connected to the bike to even try to add a route . You can’t review data available on the bike display . Apparently you can adjust the power delivery from the battery, not tried that. To be useful this app needs a lot of work, preferably a complete rework. ### 1/5 — Possibly the worst app I have ever used (if you can ever log into it). *2026-01-13, version 1.31.1* If there was a set of instructions for writing the worst app ever then this app would be the demo they use. Sometimes you can add constructive criticism but in this case it’s throw it out and start again. I just purchased a $10k bike….. do better. ### 1/5 — Totally Broken *2025-12-18, version 1.31.1* Unable to login, can’t reset password, doesn’t recognise account. Awful app. *2025-12-15, version 1.31.1* It almost makes me angry that the £1k Chinese ebike that got replaced by a £5k 2026 Explore E+0 Giant bike had a MUCH better app. My home screen doesn’t show distances done this year etc as in the app screens on the store page. My bike doesn’t have a nice image on the app just a coming soon screen. Why can’t I plan a trip without being connected to the bike? The linking of mobile number to Giant ID didn’t work for 4 weeks - it seems fixed now but I had zero responses to messages I sent in the app. The AI chat seems to do nothing for every query I’ve asked apart from saying ‘contact us’. And then nobody responds. Why did it tell me deleting my account would delete all data when now I can’t link my bike to my new account because it’s still linked to my old one? This is stopping me using the ELock functions on the app and could affect the Find My integration. Why did nobody reply when I’ve sent numerous messages through the app? It took 3 weeks and they unlinked my bike so I can register it again. But the elock function is not working on the app and I get errors all the time. 2 weeks on and they haven’t helped me with this so I’ve removed another star. 🥺 I feel like I’ve bought an amazing bike but the shine is taken off the experience so much by the app experience and service being so terrible. 😞 Hopefully the app gets updated to support the MY2026 bikes and the new on-bike software better and if it does I’ll come back and update the stars. ### 1/5 — Truly dreadful *2025-12-04, version 1.31.1* What a disappointing part of owning a Giant bike. I have tried to register on the app for 3 days now with no luck. Apart from data mining why do we need to register? We have spent a huge amount of money buying the bikes - surely that is enough? Most of the negative comments seem to relate to connectivity - just make it work as an off-line app which only connects to the bike within 5 seconds of switch or some such for security, ### 2/5 — Small text *2025-12-02, version 1.31.1* If you plan on using RideControl while riding- good luck. The fonts are so small you’ll need “readers”. If you’re planning to swipe, tap, or use any other input you’ll need to take gloves off since the buttons are tiny. This app will never get you back again but simply repeat you're off route. Thanks. I know that. Removed the App and reloaded many times - still no access. Don’t buy and make sure you get a discount on you Giant Talon E + EX, as it advertises that this function is available. It will not recognize my info so logging on is not possible and then all of a sudden the next day it kicks in and I can control my bike that I paid good money for. Strava doesn’t have the integration that this app has. I have a Trance E+ 3 Advanced. Works great. I like the battery percentage feature. Ability to tune the power levels and ability to name bike courses. I use this app with my Garmin watch. Works great! I think that others need to ride their bikes more and then they will realize the value of this app. ### 5/5 — Connects everytime - great app *2023-04-22, version 1.18.0* Had my Giant Reign E 3 years and the app connects with zero problems. Updates are easy. Data retrieval easy. Power settings easy …. Everytime!!! I am only interested in mileage and battery level, although the map feature is decent.
