### 3/5 — Cant add card

*2026-06-14, version 2.70*

I get an error when trying to add a debit or credit card

### 3/5 — Please allow panning away from current location

*2026-06-13, version 2.70*

Unable to plan my route because as I pan the map always resets to my current location. Please fix

### 1/5 — Why did you scrap the app

*2026-05-07, version 2.69*

Now people can’t even track the bus in real time since they don’t come on time most of the time

### 1/5 — Horrible QR

*2026-05-06, version 2.69*

The Qr scanner is so bad at time it doesn’t want to read phones. Honestly gotten to point I will push quarts down once for a one trip the to use the app Qticking was by far the better app this is a downgrade to an extent. Only good thing about this app is the live feed of the buses.

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2026-05-05, version 2.69*

Number one issue with the app is that it logs me out for no reason. Something about it doesn't sync with the iPhone password app, so I have to type in my username and password.

The bigger issue is that metro spent millions of my tax money to take out a card system that was working perfectly fine, stole the money I had on my card, and forced me to use this app (no way I'm getting another card from the thieves at metro).

All of this for the privilege of getting harassed by homeless people who don't pay to get on and face no consequences if they get caught (all the fare inspectors disappeared after the 'rona and Summer of George),

### 1/5 — Blocked from the app

*2026-05-02, version 2.69*

Tried making a account but when I verify the account im Blocked from the website. Terrible

### 1/5 — Unreliable

*2026-04-26, version 2.69*

The app show you live bus times and the buses either don’t show up or show up late this metro system is horrible

### 1/5 — Doesnt give 3 hr pass

*2026-04-23, version 2.69*

This new system is a scam every time you scan they charge $1.25 for every ride I just put $30 in my card and now only have $10 you are better off buying 3 hr pass from the kiosk

### 3/5 — Why did you take away Apple Pay?

*2026-04-07, version 2.69*

Title says it all.

### 1/5 — Absolute garbage

*2026-03-30, version 2.69*

Congratulations METRO. You guys managed to take a perfect almost flawless app (Q Ticketing) and killed it by forcing this pathetic excuse for an app down everyone's throat. It's clearly half assed and rushed and has downgrades rather than upgrades. Let's start with the "good".

1. You can check your mobile balance at any time. That's really nice for the new virtual card/physical card. No more guessing or using a machine.
2. You can lock funds with ease.

Now for the bad (which is pretty much everything).

1. App that logs you out whenever it wants to.
2. Removal of Apple Pay to purchase tickets/reload.
3. NO OFFLINE SUPPORT (why the f would you remove this???? Hello???? Were y'all dropped as a baby?). You're only able to use mobile tickets while connected online. So if your signal isn't working or high traffic (let's say rodeo time), you're screwed.
4. Scanning technology in the big 2026... I knew Texas was behind and prehistoric with their tech, but wow... just wow... there's NFC technology now you old farts.
5. Unreliable map location / bus data. Google Maps does a better job at showing you bus information than you do - which is sad.
6. Forced minimum $3 reload. With Q ticketing, you only purchased what you needed. No greedy money grabbing like this.
7. No wallet support (again you have to scan your phone like at a grocery store.) Whoever designed this clearly doesn't ride METRO.
8. Obvious data collection schemes. No sense of privacy in the app.
9. You're practically screwed if you don't have a credit card using this. If for some reason you want to buy tickets and accidentally hit the purchase button.... welp you're out of luck. No confirmation, not nothing. With Apple Pay, you had the ability to confirm your purchase.
10. You can shift funds from your virtual card to the physical card and vice versa (BUT ONLY USING THEIR WEB APP??? No app support).

This forced piece of garbage feels like it was programmed by an AI or an undergraduate who just finished his Computer Science degree.
It's SO BAD, that I was pretty much forced to use their (not free but $2 a pop) physical card.

They're phasing out of their old card system by force (forced out of order machines in stations/buses) and practically making everyone shift to this hot piece of shat.

So again, congrats METRO on being "Reliable" on consistently ruining a good thing. (Reference to how they pride themselves on being a reliable transportation system but can't even have a consistent bus schedule/or a decent train system... it's been 10+ years METRO. Red, green, and purple line aren't enough)

### 1/5 — Awful

*2026-03-28, version 2.69*

Worse than the previous apps. Can’t buy tickets for multiple people anymore. No Apple Pay. Must reload a card. What a joke. And you wonder why people don’t take transit.

### 1/5 — QR Scanner - Legacy Method

*2026-03-26, version 2.69*

The QR code size is so small that the scanner never successfully scans it despite of hovering at correct distance. You should definitely fix this issue which is causing delay in commuters trip and an embarrassment when it fails to scan…

### 1/5 — Doesn’t Work

*2026-03-22, version 2.69*

Not letting me log in after dozens of tries creating an account

### 1/5 — Cant pay fare - logs me out

*2026-03-20, version 2.69*

Its ridiculous how the fare option on this app logs you out with no option to log back in. Whoever developed this or gathered the requirements must be a newbie. I get logged out and when you click the log in button it doesnt do anything. Thank goodness the drivers are understanding!!! But this is embarassing and ridiculous. I was enjoying the q ticketting app in peace before this hunk is forced down our throat.

### 1/5 — dogpopo app

*2026-03-18, version 2.69*

I can’t even create an account it never sends verification email. You would think 4th largest city of the US would have some quality app developers but apparently not can’t even code the most basic necessary system if you want to create an account.

### 1/5 — The email verification is not working

*2026-03-17, version 2.69*

The email verification is not working , you guys are messing up

### 1/5 — It’s not working

*2026-03-14, version 2.68*

The app it’s not showing nothing idk if the app needs to update or idk but is bad

### 2/5 — Less than mediocre

*2026-03-12, version 2.68*

Why wouldn’t you allow options to add the old metro card on here? People still have balances on the old card. Why wouldn’t you also add options to pay via Apple Pay or other methods like the older app? Stop scamming people.

### 1/5 — Why innovate backwards?

*2026-03-07, version 2.68*

You original was rudimentary, but perfectly fine, if you wanted to move in a different direction, why not move to integrating apple wallet, accepting tap to pay. instead you moved backwards to forcing network requirements pushing out international travelers that don’t have a local carrier. and moving from NFC to QR? you we from adequate to unusable. Why not use Cubic for the card reader, and Littlepay for software, which would allow direct credit/debit card payment, and NFC payment. bus tracking and eta already exist, Transit app or Google maps had better live information. there was not a need to integrate this. i understand you need to make money elsewhere so you don’t need to raise price, but really data collection and selling?

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — This is not a good app.

*2026-08-14, version 2.71*

Very hard to navigate. Doesn’t have accurate times. You’re better off just going to google and using the transit tab. Don’t even waste your time with this app.

### 1/5 — Piece of junk app

*2026-06-26, version 2.70*

Which fly by night company wrote this app with my taxpayer dollars? They need to be sued down to the last intern and contractor.

### 1/5 — Astoundingly terrible

*2026-06-25, version 2.70*

Led me to 3 stops that didn’t have the bus/route I needed and 1 stop that straight up didn’t exist. Additionally, app went down for several minutes leaving me no access to my “virtual card”. Pretty interesting stuff. Would give zero stars if possible!

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2026-06-14, version 2.70*

Garbage app

### 1/5 — Can’t make account

*2026-06-12, version 2.70*

Couldn’t make an account to upload fares and take the bus. Keep getting “object instance unverified”, will use cash to pay bus instead

### 1/5 — Got it wrong again

*2026-06-07, version 2.70*

Live bus has been around for years on Google and Apple Maps. I feel it’s too cluttered and I also read the terms in full and noticed it’s a GOV created App! Grab some cash because Big Brother is watching! 👀

### 1/5 — Do not trust this app it will leave you stranded.

*2026-06-06, version 2.70*

The bus arrival times and route information in this app have been consistently inaccurate. On multiple occasions, the app showed another bus was coming, only for no bus to arrive. This has left me stranded and caused me to be late for work. The worst experience was missing what turned out to be the last bus of the night because the app incorrectly indicated another bus was on the way. If you depend on public transit to get to work or appointments on time, use this app with caution.

### 1/5 — Scheduling

*2026-05-31, version 2.69*

Whoever is scheduling these busses needs to be fired yesterday

### 1/5 — They Made a Simple Thing Hard

*2026-05-30, version 2.69*

The Q Ticketing app was easy and intuitive; the new app is bloated and unfriendly to use. Nowhere in the new app can you view active fare.

### 1/5 — A Step backwards

*2026-05-13, version 2.69*

Managed to innovate backwards instead of forwards. This app is literally frustrating and unusable

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great service

*2025-08-11, version 2.61*

Hello Metro, thanks for the great App

### 5/5 — For the most part, this app is accurate.

*2019-03-13, version 2.11*

It shows where the busses are located at exactly (the green busses) are the ones you want to search for to know when the next one will be approaching your bus stop. Sometimes, there are delays but it should still be accurate and not far off. I like this app is VERY convenient to get around especially if you are on a time bind. It will tell you specifically when the next bus is coming even if a delay happens. Y’all should get this app if you guys ride the Metro. Super convenient honestly. It shows you the routes the bus number is taking and the path and all the stops etc. If you are lost this is another way to quickly find where you are. It’s like a GPS as well as a bus scheduler put into 1.

### 5/5 — HUGE step change in functionality and useabikity

*2016-11-29, version 2.0*

I can't say enough good things about what you guys have done to this app. Took it out of the stone ages and really make it practical and useable. Thank you! Great work!

### 5/5 — Worked great for me

*2015-04-30, version 1.16.0*

Bus showed up right when the app said it would.

### 5/5 — Real Time Bus Schedule

*2014-10-11, version 1.14.0*

I tried the app today when I got to the bus stop. The real time scheduled was showing the bus would arrive in 3m. Surely enough after 3m the bus was there. This is great! Now I know exactly when to leave the office to get the bus on time. Excellent App.

### 5/5 — Great App!!

*2013-09-28, version 1.10.0*

If you ride the bus in Houston you need this app! Very accurate within a few minutes although it says 'Realtime'. Suffice to say, this city's traffic would render 'real time' useless.

### 5/5 — Best Public Trip Planner, yet!

*2012-06-18, version 1.2*

Very easy to use, very helpful. It is now much easier for me to get around town using the bus. This app gives me more confidents on riding public transit.

I absolutely recommend downloading
The app.

### 4/5 — Almost great

*2026-03-02, version 2.68*

The app needs improvement. Sometimes it scans in the machine, sometimes it takes forever. Imagine that, with a big line behind you. If the QR code is bigger, maybe will scan better.
Also, I know is a new app and will improve but the QR code “window” on the top left is extremely small and confusing at the time of opening.
Other than that, the app is “almost great”. The futures, easy access, options and free rides, definitely a hit

### 4/5 — Good but can be better

*2023-06-11*

Great visualizations of local routes, but should also include Park & Ride Routes. Ideally, this should be combined with the QTicketing app to have a 1 stop app.

**Developer response:** Hello, thank you for your feedback and suggestions. We'll take them into consideration for future updates. Thanks for riding METRO.

### 4/5 — Doesn’t show delays

*2022-12-28*

The app is very nice!
It helps me to know when to start going to the bus stop but Only problem I have is it doesn’t show if a bus is delayed or not. It always lights green when the bus is on time or near but it never tells you if it’s late

**Developer response:** Hello, k. high. Thank you for your feedback. You can subscribe to free route alerts so that you're always informed of any delays, interruptions or detours that may affect your ride. You can sign up quickly by texting your route number to 713713 and you'll be automatically subscribed to receive a text whenever there's a service alert on that route. Thank you for choosing METRO.
