### 3/5 — App Crashes in IOS 12

*2019-04-07, version 1.0.6*

Just purchased these on Saturday and saw they had Bluetooth. Downloaded App and was able to pair both batteries. However, one of the batteries doesn’t show the serial number or info on it and then the app crashes ever time I launch it. Deleted the app, shut down the iPhone XSMax, restarted and reinstalled app, added batteries again but still crashes app. Great idea and good review on YouTube on a Samsung but not Great on IOS.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2018-07-11, version 1.0.5*

Can’t login or register so you can’t use the product that you pay for like it’s meant to be used. Get with it Rigid!! You are already behind Dewalt on your batteries so now you make a crap app!

### 1/5 — It doesn’t work

*2018-07-10, version 1.0.5*

It doesn’t let me sign in or register so what good is the battery if you can’t use its features I will have to return the batteries back to Home Depot

### 1/5 — Update, now it’s not working

*2018-07-02, version 1.0.4*

Just did the update and the app doesn’t work.

### 1/5 — Buggy App

*2021-09-20, version 1.0.9*

Signing up for a RIDGID account was flawless and had no issues. The pairing however creates some discrepancies. For one, attempting to pair a battery to the app will freeze the app completely and never pairs the battery. This may be a personal issue but my battery cannot be discovered from the Bluetooth section in Settings. Ultimately after some attempts, I decided to uninstall this app for its unresponsiveness. After completely deleting this app, my entire phone had gone unresponsive and couldn’t shut down until a minute has passed after holding the power button. tl;dr DO NOT RECOMMEND

### 1/5 — Seems like a good idea but I wouldn’t know because it crashes as soon as I pair a battery

*2021-02-19, version 1.0.8*

Seems like a good idea but I wouldn’t know because it crashes as soon as I pair a battery.

### 1/5 — App no longer works

*2020-07-09, version 1.0.8*

Went to pair a new battery today now the app crashes ever time I open it. Uninstalled reinstalled restarted device tried on different device and same results. It used to work great fix soon please

### 1/5 — Needs bug fixes

*2020-06-02, version 1.0.8*

App crashes every time I attempt to pair my 3ah Octane battery. Pairing worked fine for my 6ah battery.

### 1/5 — Incompatible with octane 3Ah batteries

*2020-05-19, version 1.0.8*

I downloaded this app after purchasing the 3.0 Ah starter pack (2x batteries + Charger)

After downloading the app and pairing the batteries, the app stated both batteries are locked by a previous owner (although these are both brand new). The batteries themselves do not appear to be locked because they run my tools and charge as expected.

So I’m going to go on a limb here and say these batteries aren’t compatible with this app at this time.

Update your app, and I’ll change my review.

### 1/5 — I would love to use this app but it won’t let me register

*2020-01-21, version 1.0.7*

I would love to use this app but it won’t let me register. When I click register it behaves as if I hit login and asks for my password...which I can’t have because I haven’t registered!

### 1/5 — Bluetooth turned “off”

*2019-11-03, version 1.0.7*

App kept saying Bluetooth was turned off when it wasn’t. Looked for app under Bluetooth permissions but it wasn’t listed. Deleted app because it was too frustrating.

### 1/5 — Did anyone actually test this software before releasing it?

*2019-07-13, version 1.0.6*

It won't let me register because it says my email address is malformed. Thus I can't login. It let me skip the login, but then it doesn't find the battery.

This app is a huge swing and a miss...

### 1/5 — DO NOT USE

*2019-07-04, version 1.0.6*

I used this on some new tools that I bought just weeks ago. I connected the battery and played with it for a few days. I thought I could trust the app. I now have 2 useless tools, the batteries are locked, I cannot reconnect to them and cannot get the batteries unlocked. I now have 2 useless tools.

Use at own risk, Ridgid has not been helpful. I am annoyed enough that if I end up replacing those few week old tools, I will not just by batteries, I will buy another brand. Buyer be ware and proceed at own risk.

### 1/5 — Crashed my iPhone repeatedly upon installation. Immediately deleted the app from my phone.

*2019-06-06, version 1.0.6*

### 5/5 — Trailblazing app circa 2017

*2022-01-14, version 1.0.9*

This app made history by introducing bluetooth uses for rechargeable bats. It allowed user to see health of battery, statistics of use, search for the battery nearby, and block the battery.

Ridgid - please continue to maintain the app. Ridgid apps are an important step in an attractive echosystem for the powertools.

I will talk about the company, octane batteries and address some issues i see with the bats, app, tools and of course the many naggers complaining about ridgid.

Ridgid powertools are currently made by TTI, which licenses the ridgid brand. It also makes Milwaukee and Ryobi tools among many other well known brands.

Ridgid had Gen 5x, then octane(all brushless), and now 2021 they introduced max power. The app is for octane batteries only.

Battery design for ridgid octane batteries is the best and has not been surpassed by any other manufacturer(as of 2022). They help stabilise the tools, are well made, protected and have anti-fire features making them some of the safest anywhere. Next generation of ridgid batteries has no bluetooth and generally appear to be not nearly as good of a product as the octanes were.

Ridgid tools vary greatly in quality based on generations. Some are best tools i have seen(better than milwaukee and dewalt - exaple is the gen5x and octane recip saws) others are on par with the competitors and some are worse. For battery powered tools i advise having one brand as much as possible: makita, ridgid, milwaukee, etc. See which tools are best fit for you, and stick w the company through thick and thin.

Ridgid has the best warranty on the planet earth for powertools and batteries(usa and canada only), yet people complain non-stop. Warranty does not apply to all tools and bats, only those 1)properly registered,
2)with unique serial number clearly visible and
3)not abused. If you fit this criteria they will fix your tools and batteries.

Now about the naggers who mostly leave 1 star reviews. I can see how painful it must be to have high expectations and receive no service or an unsatisfactory answer. Understand please that you are not entitled to service by just owning the tool.

1) You need to buy it at a correct location(HD or Direct Tools) and register it.
2) Have your registration accepted and only then qualify for service.

If it did not work out for you first time, feel free to choose a different brand OR do better on your next purchase and actually register your tool. Speaking of that, i still got a new octane recip saw i need to register.

I actually seen a complaint that a 10 yo tool got replaced for free with a newer tool. The whole process took some time(a month perhaps) and a person still complained. At some point lack of gratitude is the problem not Ridgid powertools.

### 5/5 — Bluetooth battery

*2019-04-25, version 1.0.6*

Awesome 👏 that’s all I have to say

### 5/5 — It works great

*2019-03-14, version 1.0.6*

All these negative reviews seem irrelevant. The app works great with my Octane batteries. Never failed me yet after 200+ uses.

### 5/5 — Great concept!

*2018-12-13, version 1.0.6*

I just got my first 9ha battery and I love everything about it. The app works just fine for me so I’m not sure what other people are doing wrong. I like how there is a link in the app to register my stuff as well, it make life easier and we all know how important that is haha.

### 5/5 — App/6ah battery

*2018-02-13, version 1.0.1*

This is a great piece of technology to have for accurate levels of battery life. This will make me more efficient as I work and ultimately lead to prolonged battery life. The 6ah batteries are beasts!

### 4/5 — Fix the app please

*2022-01-23, version 1.0.9*

I like the app and it gives the info I need for the batteries, but I try to get on it now and it will load for a second and shut down.

### 4/5 — Needs TLC

*2020-07-26, version 1.0.8*

Great app overall. One suggestion is that I would make a widget available under shortcuts on iPhone. This would make accessing the unlocking features easier and this a 5-star!

### 4/5 — Can not log in

*2019-07-26, version 1.0.7*

I think this is a great app, but for some reason when I am using iPhone 7 the log in button is not visible because the keyboard is on top of it. And there is no way to hide the keyboard. You can use the app without logging in, but some of the functions are not available.

### 3/5 — Some issues

*2019-08-30*

iPhone X max
Cannot rename. Issue of pulling back keyboard.
Saving

Alone issue

Registration distance would be nice. There is no practical registration ethos of my tools.

### 3/5 — Ehhh

*2019-08-26, version 1.0.7*

Can only connect 8 batteries at one time. I own 11. Also nobody uses maps for the iPhone. Google maps to locate would be nice.
