## What is Riding Places?

Riding Places is your all-in-one cycling companion, whether you're commuting to work, exploring new trails, or chasing adventures far from home. Built for every type of rider, from first-time bike commuters to seasoned gravel enthusiasts, it pairs powerful navigation with a rewards system that turns ordinary rides into something more. Create routes, record rides, navigate offline, and ride together with the communities that matter to you, all completely free.

RIDE TOGETHER WITH RAMBLES
Rambles are how groups ride together. Join a cycling club, employer, or local shop and you're automatically part of its Rambles, with nothing to sign up for. Each Ramble gives your group a shared way to ride: explore a new place, rack up visits, chase your best ride, reach a group goal, raise money for a cause, or climb the leaderboard. Take part and you can earn real rewards from the group that set it up.

DISCOVER GEOZONES AS YOU RIDE
GeoZones are our patent-pending, location-based rewards. Local businesses, employers, cycling clubs, and event organizers place them around the places you ride, and you complete them automatically as you go. No manual check-ins, no stopping to scan codes, just ride through and earn points.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.24 — 2026-08-20

Rambles look better, and your rides now show what they added

RIDE DETAIL
See what each ride contributed to the Rambles you have joined, including distance covered, rides logged, and money raised.

RAMBLES AND GROUPS
Redesigned cards show a Ramble's full banner image, or an illustrated scene when there is no banner. Every kind of Ramble now has its own animated illustration. Prize and reward descriptions are no longer cut off.

MAPS
A new Show and Hide GeoZones button on the Record and Route Builder maps. City sized GeoZones now draw as a clean outline instead of shading the whole map, and zone names are easier to read. Tap a GeoZone to open the Ramble it belongs to. Rambles that span several locations now fit every location on screen.

GROUPS
The Groups tab opens on Discover, and a group's banner image now appears at the top of its detail card.

Plus a number of smaller fixes and refinements.

### 1.0.23 — 2026-08-15

A big update to Rambles and discovery:
• New Rambles hub: your progress on every Ramble at a glance, plus a rewards area that shows what is waiting on you
• Discover public Groups and Rambles to join, right from the Groups and Rambles tabs
• Clearer turn icons in route details and easier offline route status
• Logging out now warns you about unsynced rides
• New health data privacy controls for US riders
• Bug fixes, including ride deletion improvements

### 1.0.22 — 2026-07-30

Route and navigation quality improvements:
• Turn-by-turn instructions now correctly show turns wherever your route changes direction, including turns at route control points
• Routes downloaded for offline use are verified to include complete turn-by-turn instructions
• Route Builder now asks before discarding an unsaved route when you leave the screen

### 1.0.20 — 2026-07-21

• Take routes offline: download a route and its map, then navigate turn by turn with no signal at all. GeoZones come along too, so you still earn completions and points offline.
• Choose your units: miles & feet or kilometres & metres, in Settings > Profile. Applies across the whole app, including turn distances.
• More accurate ride start times, and a fix for rides occasionally saving twice.
• Reliability and bug fixes.

### 1.0.19 — 2026-07-16

- You can now join a private group from a Ramble by entering its access code.
- Reward photos now display in full.
- Minor wording fixes on the Ramble screens.
