## What is Rientro?

Dementia safety with intelligent wandering protection

When movement changes, every minute matters.

Rientro helps protect people living with dementia by detecting wandering early, understanding movement patterns, and alerting caregivers before a situation becomes a crisis.

Built for families, caregivers, and memory care teams, Rientro combines real-time location with behavioral intelligence to help preserve ordinary life by reducing uncertainty before emergencies unfold.

HOW RIENTRO WORKS

1. Connect a cellular smartwatch (Apple Watch or Samsung Galaxy Watch)
2. Set the home or care location
3. Rientro continuously monitors movement and behavioral patterns

When an unexpected departure or unusual movement is detected, caregivers are alerted immediately.

With an active subscription, if the person cannot be located within 15 minutes, Rientro can automatically escalate to emergency response.

BEYOND GPS TRACKING

Knowing where someone is is only part of the picture.

Rientro helps answer the questions that matter most:

• Is this movement unusual?
• Is risk increasing?
• How quickly should someone respond?

By learning daily routines over time, Rientro helps identify meaningful behavioral changes, including:

• Unexpected departures
• Unusual nighttime activity
• Restlessness or pacing
• Movement away from familiar areas

KEY FEATURES

• Early wandering detection
• Personalized behavioral intelligence
• Real-time GPS monitoring
• Automatic 15-minute emergency escalation
• Live location sharing
• Incident history and movement insights
• Support for 12 languages

BUILT FROM LIVED EXPERIENCE

Rientro was created after years of dementia caregiving and a real overnight wandering emergency.

It began with one simple realization: knowing someone's location is important—but understanding their movement is what helps people respond with confidence.

Because dementia care is about more than finding someone.

It's about reducing uncertainty, preserving dignity, and helping ordinary life continue.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.5.21 — 2026-10-14

What's New in 1.5.21

- National Family Caregivers Month: new In-app Event
- Added support for opening Rientro directly from this month's special event link.
- New "Just tell me what to do" quick-start screen, linked from the welcome carousel — the same seven-step shortest path already in the Family Guide, now reachable before setup instead of after.

### 1.5.20 — 2026-10-12

What's New in 1.5.20

- New `Restore Purchases` on the Rientro Pro screen: if you already subscribed on this Apple or Google account, tap it and your Pro access comes back.
- After you subscribe, your account now updates from the store's billing confirmation, so Pro unlocks reliably and can't be switched on by anything else.
- Accounts that are already on a full-access plan no longer see an "Upgrade to Pro" prompt.
- Enrolling a resident with a facility code takes you to the Rientro Pro screen first if you haven't subscribed yet, then back to your confirmation.
- INTEL place cards now show the alert radius, the risk level and the place type.
- Better layouts on iPad and foldable phones: content stays in a comfortable column on wide windows.
- Apple Watch now tells you when location is switched off instead of looking healthy.
- Android: the app no longer restarts when you fold or unfold a foldable phone.
- Security and stability updates.

### 1.5.18 — 2026-10-04

What's New in 1.5.18

- Your watch now gets set up automatically. When you sign in and choose a loved one, Rientro sends their profile, home location, safe-zone size and your distance units (miles or kilometers) to your paired watch — no manual setup on the watch.
- New Watch card in the INTEL tab shows whether the watch is connected, waiting for its first signal, or has gone quiet, with Send setup to watch, Reset watch access (for a lost or replaced watch) and Remove watch access.
- The watch shows "Open Rientro on your phone to pair this watch" until it has been set up, instead of offering a Start button that couldn't report anything.
- Signing out no longer switches off the watch. A resident's watch keeps working on its own, even if the family signs out or changes phones; access ends only when you choose Reset or Remove.
- If your loved one lives in a care facility, the facility can now send you a short reminder to open Rientro and check the watch. Tapping it opens the Watch card.
- Apple Watch now reports its real battery level.
- The watch's "Not authorized" message is available in Spanish.
- The Family Guide and FAQ (all 12 languages) describe the new setup and Watch card.

### 1.5.17 — 2026-10-02

What's New in 1.5.17

- Fixed a timing issue where the free rescue drill's siren could sound earlier in the simulation than intended.
- The rescue drill now resets fully back to its starting view when it ends — no leftover search-area circles or distance readouts from the simulation.
- The guest drill no longer suggests entering your loved one's real information before you've created an account; your data stays private and local to your device until you decide to sign up.
- Fixed on-screen confirmations ("Saved to Moments to Review," etc.) briefly overlapping the bottom navigation on some Android devices.
- Fixed a rare case where the post-alert "What actually happened?" prompt could appear twice in quick succession during a fast-moving alert.
- Corrected the in-app Family Guide to match the drill behavior above.

### 1.5.15 — 2026-09-30

What's New in 1.5.15

- Switched to our own custom domain for backend connections.
- Corrected an in-app Family Guide description in 12 locales.
- Removed unused legacy code of the map feature.
