Things are much more organized and a bit more personalized, which I love. Honestly, I don’t have any complaints! I am amazed and grateful there are no commercials to this day! The only thing I do not like is that it doesn’t give me the option to play songs I decide individually like they used to. You have to listen to it shuffled. Other than that I am so glad playlist is still going strong and I hope one day it takes over fb so people will just chill out and connect through music. I think the update is genius. You’re able to share music with just your friends in a private mode, or keep it to yourself. It’s also now organized because when you enter a new playlist you won’t have to worry about old messages because it’ll automatically clear up. I don’t know if it’s just me or it’s happening to other people. But for some reason every time I like my own playlist it deletes what i’ve created and it’s really annoying, and my song like stops at random times it’s just my opinion but overall those “glitches” it’s a really great app! 😄🙃 ### 5/5 — Fun app with music *2019-09-07, version 1.35.7* Music is universal, and for that I love this app. I can listen, share, comment, collaborate and create playlists for my social circle. When a new song comes out, instead of telling my friends about it through text, I’m able to invite them to listen through this app. Or if there is a trip coming up, we can create our road trip playlists (or whatever) to customize based on our tastes. The notifications are useful in case I missed a big release or track to my genre liking. Thumbs up! ### 4/5 — Stick to one playlist *2019-01-31, version 1.21.1* Ok so I try to play my music and put only joji songs on my playlist and then it shows snoop dog and other people and I don’t want that it’s only supposed to put joji songs because I picked the songs and there is no way to change it back so I only wanna listen to my music and the songs that i picked not other creators that pop up on my playlist I understand if u guys want me to listen to different music but please just don’t put any different kind of music that I didn’t put on my playlist , thank you ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Cannot join room error *2022-02-06, version 1.59.5* The app does not work for me at all. Every time I try to join a room it says “Cannot join that room.” I’ve had the app downloaded for a couple of days now and it’s still not working. I’ve deleted it and reinstalled it and it’s still not working. I’ve reported the error with the report a bug icon but still nothing has been done to resolve the issue. Am I doing something wrong? ### 2/5 — Regarding private playlists *2020-08-18, version 1.47.4* My friends and I have always loved this app, we’ve always used it together in school or while gaming. The biggest issue is now, when we join our private playlist it will 1) not allow one of us to skip the song or 2) when it skips, it doesn’t skip for everyone. Sometimes it won’t even let me join the playlist, maybe it could be because my phone is getting old but this is still difficult to deal with. Another issue I have is, I have almost i don’t know maybe hundreds of songs in the playlist, but playlist keeps adding its own songs in... that don’t even have anything to do with the type we listen to. I’m sorry but that’s just annoying. ### 2/5 — Only plays last added or similar to *2020-04-22, version 1.46.5* This app only plays a fraction of the actual songs you add to a playlist. Then it only plays one or two songs from the last three or four artists that you've added and forgets the other thirty or so you added earlier. Mostly, Playlist plays songs by what they call "similar" artists to the actual ones you've already chosen. But the most annoying feature is that after about ten songs, it inevitably stops and says "You've reached the end of your playlist." If this app played the ACTUAL playlist I took the time to build, it would take about four days to reach the "end of my playlist," not twenty minutes. By far THE lamest music app available. Why bother building a pretend list I can't even enjoy? Stupid app, it has been deleted! ### 3/5 — Not enjoying it lately *2020-05-03, version 1.46.6* Lately, a lot of songs that aren’t on my playlist are being played. Even on a playlist with 100+ songs, there are more songs that I didn’t add than songs I did. It used to not do this. And the songs that are being played are ones I hate, and there is no way to prevent them from being played. It’s almost always the same. I used to really love this app, but I find myself becoming frustrated whenever I use it now. ### 3/5 — Great concept, but really glitchy *2020-02-04, version 1.44.1* I love the concept of this app. I have used it a few times, but unfortunately sometimes it is basically unusable. It kicks you out of the app, the audio cuts out, it only plays “similar artists” and nothing from the actual playlist, and says things were added when they aren’t in the list. I really hope everything gets fixed because I really do want to use it. ### 3/5 — Creator pls fix this *2019-10-06, version 1.38* When I went too play old town road it said could not play this song but when I tried other songs it worked and when to help and feedback it said Error so that is why I am writing this and this is for the creators if you are not one of them you can stop reading Dear,Creator this music app is amazing but pls fix this error because old town road is my favorite song so pls pls pls fix it thank you ### 3/5 — Lucky day *2019-01-03, version 1.20.5* This app is an alright app it has some glitches and I believe that this app promotes artists for money because I have been getting songs that I or anyone that follow my playlist have added. One song specifically called lucky day by Dustin Paul keeps getting played when I try to skip it the app will glitch out and bring me to my home page ### 4/5 — Well... 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 *2020-07-07, version 1.46.6* I’m not gonna lie, I LOVE this app which is surprising because my gf showed me this... but to the point, there’s is 1 if not 2 flaws. 1: most of the songs that it plays aren’t even in your playlist like for instance, you can have a playlist that has nothing but rap and at least 30% is gonna give you country music. 2: because it mostly doesn’t give you the song you want you need to skip it, BUT there’s a chance if your on solo it will say “You can’t vote to skip more than once.” And if ur lucky and let’s you skip, after about 2-3 skips it will tell you “no skips available at this hour.” Which I think is BS because you can leave the playlist and immediately join again and then you can skip. Pls fix so I can listen to MY playlist and not some random song made by like Justin Bieber... ### 4/5 — Great app but one problem *2020-06-06, version 1.46.6* This app is amazing but the problem is that when I play one of my playlists it always has random songs that I’ve never heard of. It adds more distress now that there’s a limited amount of skips now, I waste my skips on songs I don’t even know. By far that’s my only complaint I don’t have a problem with the skips at all just that I waste them. Over all great app! ### 4/5 — Minor issue *2020-04-21, version 1.46.5* I love this app I’ve been using it for a while and have about 6.7k listens, but there’s one problem. The playlist I created keeps playing songs that I didn’t add! Riff is a new innovative way to join or create a community. It reminds me of Clubhouse but with video and music. I already signed all my friends up on here and love the fact we all can be on video chat at the same time. I’m slowly joining other rooms and communities and love how the typical toxicity of social media isn’t on here. We hangout everyday in our Riff room to talk about different topics depending on the day. It helps us reconnect and have girls night while we all live in different states. The playlist in our room allows us to wind down from a hectic day and just vibe. I met artist NLE Choppa during a mindfulness conversation! Even stopped by influencer AayanX Celebrity Breaking News room for the latest trends. I love the video and streaming capabilities which sets you apart from other apps similar to this. I love the communities that are building in that I’m a part of. I like the navigation and the streaming for artists to get recognition. So far the only thing I would love to see added is a better layout (or more clear instructions if it is already possible) for the music scheduling.
