## What is Riff?

Your best thinking happens out loud — on a walk, in the car, pacing the kitchen. Riff is where it goes.

Talk. Riff turns what you said into a clean transcript, then a short recap with the action items pulled out, right in front of you. The rambling was the thinking. The recap is what you keep.

And if the recap isn't quite what you meant, say so — every riff comes with its own agent. "Focus it on the budget." "Add an action about the dentist." "Shorter." It reshapes the recap while you watch, tells you exactly what it changed, and keeps versions so one tap steps you back. Ask it questions, too; it answers only from what you actually said. This update makes recording tougher to lose and saving instant.

• Interruptions no longer end your recording. The 60-second auto-stop is retired — a paused recording now survives up to 4 hours, and Riff notifies you the moment a call or another app pauses your audio.
• The Riff Agent is stepping back until we can release a better powered version of it in iOS27.
• Saving is instant and sure: "Saving riff" finishes in seconds and always lands you on your transcript.
• If iOS ends a recording in the background, Riff tells you within seconds — no more frozen timers ticking on the Lock Screen or Dynamic Island for a recording that already stopped.
• Your audio file is now deleted as soon as its transcript is safely saved — even less on your device than before.
• Your riffs are kept forever by default (auto-cleanup is now strictly opt-in), and the update includes database-migration hardening so your history stays safe across versions.
