## What is Riff?

Riff turns anything you're curious about into a podcast — made just for you, on the spot.

Type a topic. Two AI hosts research it on the web, write a genuine back-and-forth conversation, and record it in natural voices. A few minutes later you're listening to a show that didn't exist when you asked for it.

THREE WAYS TO RIFF

• Pick a topic — "Why do we dream?", "The rise and fall of the Concorde", "How does the stock market actually work?" Anything you'd want explained over coffee.
• Paste a link — that 40-minute read you keep putting off. Riff fetches the article and turns it into a discussion you can listen to on your commute.
• Paste text — an essay, a report, meeting notes. If it's long enough to discuss, Riff can riff on it.

MADE FOR LISTENING

• Choose your length: quick 5-minute takes, or 10 and 15-minute deep dives — or let Riff decide what the topic deserves.
• Fresh, researched content: the hosts search the web before they write, so episodes reflect what's actually going on, not stale training data.
• Generation keeps running while you use other apps, and a notification tells you when your episode is ready.
• Episodes are saved on your device — replay them anytime, no streaming required.
• Out of ideas? Riff suggests new topics based on what you've enjoyed.

BRING YOUR OWN KEYS

Riff has no subscription and no account. Instead, it runs on two AI services you connect yourself with API keys: Anthropic (Claude) researches and writes each episode, and Google Gemini voices the hosts and draws the artwork. You pay each provider directly for exactly what you use — a typical episode costs well under a dollar, and Gemini offers a free tier. Setup takes a couple of minutes, and the app walks you through it.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN

Your API keys are stored in your device's Keychain and sent only to Anthropic and Google. Your topics and pasted text go only to those services to make your episode. No accounts, no tracking, no middleman servers — episodes live on your device.

Riff requires your own Anthropic and Google Gemini API keys. API usage is billed by those providers at their standard rates.
