## What is RiffAlly Metronome?

Build focused music practice sessions with a metronome that automatically alternates playing and silent rest.

Set your tempo, work time, rest time, and number of rounds. RiffAlly keeps the session moving automatically: steady, unaccented clicks while you play, quiet rests, and a clear three-beat, BPM-paced count-in before the next round begins.

Use Metronome Only for a continuous click with live BPM and volume changes. TAP lets you set the pulse by feel, with audible feedback on each accepted tap. Choose from 10 built-in click sounds, and save named routines for one-tap recall with locally tracked completion progress.

The pedal-style interface keeps essential readouts visible above your hand and large Start/Pause and Stop buttons at the bottom. Metronome Only combines BPM, volume and status in one display. In Intervals, tap a display to open its adjustment controls. Choose common values, drag slider thumbs, or use plus/minus buttons. Personalize the pedal with four finishes and independently saved display colors.

Choose normal iPhone audio output, including Bluetooth, or send RiffAlly's clicks, countdowns and TAP to the built-in iPhone speaker. The small Bluetooth button changes this app's output preference while stopped; it does not turn off iPhone Bluetooth or mute the sound. iOS manages routing, so independent Bluetooth playback from another app is not guaranteed.

Features:
• Adjustable tempo from 30 to 300 BPM
• Audible Tap Tempo in both modes, including live tapping in Metronome Only
• Configurable work/rest intervals and automatic rounds
• Three-beat preparation and post-rest count-ins
• 10 click sounds with automatic selection preview
• Live click-volume adjustment during active sessions
• Named saved routines and local completion progress
• Common values, thumb-drag sliders and precise plus/minus controls
• Rest reminders for hydration, relaxed hands, posture and focus
• Pause, resume and stop in every session phase
• Small LED beat and interval-progress feedback
• Four pedal finishes and independent display settings
• Background audio during active sessions
• Remembered practice settings and mode, with stopped playback on relaunch
• No account, ads, analytics or tracking

Practice steadily. Rest intentionally. Return to the music ready.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.7.3 — 2026-09-29

• A more balanced pedal interface: Start/Pause and Stop now have matching button sizes.
• Beat and progress LEDs sit neatly inside the Start/Pause button's recessed ring.
• Only the small LEDs pulse. Button edges and displays stay steady, with existing phase colors and Reduce Motion support preserved.

### 1.7.2 — 2026-09-26

• Choose every rounded tempo from 30 to 300 BPM in steps of 10, including 150 BPM.
• Browse three clear ranges, then tap a number to apply it immediately.
• Tap the BPM number display in either mode to open the same tempo picker.
• Keep the current BPM visible while choosing. Rails, precise one-BPM buttons and TAP remain available.
• Use the new picker while playing or paused in Metronome Only, with larger-text support and updated Help.

### 1.7.1 — 2026-09-24

• Controls that require a full Stop now show a clear matte-grey appearance and lock icons during playback and pause.
• A ‘Stop to change locked controls’ message explains how to unlock them.
• Volume stays available, along with live tempo and TAP in Metronome Only.
• Clearer Bluetooth ON/OFF indication while locked, improved accessibility hints, and updated Help.

### 1.7 — 2026-09-21

• Set your tempo by tapping, with audible feedback in both practice modes.
• Enjoy a clearer Metronome Only screen with BPM, volume and status together, plus large bottom playback controls.
• Choose normal audio output or the iPhone speaker using the small Bluetooth button beside sound selection. It does not turn off iPhone Bluetooth or mute the clicks.
• Return to your previous BPM, volume, sound, intervals, rounds, output and practice mode. Reopening never starts playback automatically.
• Only the small beat LEDs blink; the displays and button edges stay steady.
• Refined pedal finishes, Help, accessibility and speaker-output reliability.

### 1.5 — 2026-09-17

The RiffAlly Metronome pedal is now more visually coordinated.

• Each metal finish now carries through the surrounding page, panels, controls, sliders, footswitches, and active accents.
• Display style remains independently selectable and remembered.
• Titanium and Champagne finishes have refined contrast and readability.
• The app icon now uses the new blue pedal style metronome design.

Timing, audio, saved routines, optional tips, and practice controls are unchanged.
