A playlist that has thousands of tracks in Gerbera server. Rigelian can display the playlist, but Play or Shuffle buttons do not start playing. Possibly let user configure the page size, like 50 tracks per page, and send tracks in current page only to player.

Rigelian does one thing and generally does it very well indeed. It’s the best app for playing files on the SD card slots of a Chord 2go or Poly.

The interface is nice and clean. That and I t’s ability to pull in artist information and make links is a nice touch which puts ahead of MConnect.

It only loses a star because other apps include streaming integration from Tidal, but I keep Rigelian for playing local files as it’s the best app for that.

Great app but some bugs need fixing. Repeat function does not work on tracks when selected from playlist. Pressing back button skips to previous track instead of restarting the current track. Internet radio track info does not refresh if player was minimized.

This app has great MPD support. I use it to connect to my self-hosted MPD server and it’s great that it also supports outputting my MPD http stream audio directly to my iPhone. The UI is very nice and feels as polished as a consumer app like Spotify. Keep up the great work!!

Love the potential of the app! Hope there can be implemented some extras like Qobuz, Tidal, etc… integration via UPnP. I’m having some issues with the experimental UPnP features(but that’s understandable for now), for instance, if I modify the volume it’s working fine, but the Moode web interface won’t recognise the change, even after restart. I’ve changed the mode from UPnP A/V to OpenHome protocol, otherwise won’t work at all. Keep up the good work!

Solid app with a clean, native UI, that’s well laid out / nicely designed. Does everything you’d expect and works flawlessly with my headless MPD sever.

Happy to pay a few quid a year if it keeps this app going.

Pulling the cover art from the metadata is probably the only issue I’ve found so far. UX is clear and simple. It just works! This app should be the defacto recommendation for all Chord Mojo/Poly users!

Rigelian is an intuitive, well-supported macOS app (and companion iOS app) that I've been using to control my mpd-based music library and stream internet radio stations. Thanks to Rigelian I will be cancelling my Roon subscription, which is overkill for my needs, less user-friendly, and now costs $120/year. Rigelian costs less than $6/year and has provided trouble-free performance and great sound quality. Highly recommended!

### 1/5 — Complaint – Misleading Qobuz Integration and Non-functional App

I am writing to formally complain about misleading information regarding Rigelian’s Qobuz integration.

According to your description, signing up provides access to the entire Qobuz library. Based on this, I purchased a subscription. However, after installing and using Rigelian with my Chord Poly/Mojo setup:
	1.	Qobuz is not visible anywhere in the app. There is no menu, settings, or way to log in.
	2.	Many buttons and menu items are inactive and unresponsive.
	3.	Rigelian does not stream Qobuz to my Poly in MPD mode.
	4.	Attempts to contact support have failed; there is no response or accessible support channel.

This is extremely disappointing, as the advertised functionality is not delivered, and the subscription is effectively unusable for my setup.

I formally request:
	•	Either clear instructions on how to access and play Qobuz on Poly/Mojo via Rigelian,
	•	Or a full refund, as the advertised service is not provided.

Please respond promptly. Failure to address this issue appropriately may lead me to escalate the complaint to consumer protection authorities.

I paid for Mpad and enjoyed using it. But now it has been removed from the App Store to be replaced with this, I have for a new iPad and cannot control my hifi any longer. 

Considering I have already paid for your MPD controller app do you think you could give me access to this new version?

App in free mode has almost no functionality. Only list by Album. Everything else wants a subscription! I subscribe to Services, not a music player app!
And as soon as the developer decides to stop development the user has to pay for nothing just to use basic features.

„Some features in Rigelian require a subscription“ actually means almost all. Of course I don’t mind and understand the need to have an income to continue developing software, but the app is useless without a subscription. So please communicate it this way.

I was encouraged by positive opinions, but my experience wasn’t great.
My local network MPD server wasn’t automatically discovered. Entering host name or IP address manually didn’t help - can’t connect and app does not report any error.

I connected to other MPD server in public network. But here on-device playback ends up buffering forever, also without any error.

Sad to say, but app is hardly usable at least for classic MPD.

Since I cannot revise my last review, the issue with manual addition has been fixed and the app is functional again. Thankfully no need to readd the information.

UIが最高。
ライフタイムプランがないのは残念だが、無料版でもプレイヤーとして必要な機能は使える。
あとは歌詞表示ができれば最高だが、現状MPDサーバー側がUNSYNCEDLYRICSタグの読み込みに対応していないため仕方ない。

I was looking for an attractive and intuitive control point for OpenHome streaming and was glad to find this app met my needs. Thanks to recent bug fixes, Rigelian now meets my needs and wants as a daily driver for music enjoyment. I like its UI design and that it is actively developed and improves over time. The only feature that I currently miss is Tidal integration, which I understand is no trivial task.

On n’osait plus attendre le remplaçant de Glider ! Rigelian fait mieux. C’est simple, c’est beau, c’est fonctionnel, je redécouvre avec bonheur mon chord poly et toute la bibliothèque musicale hd, avec en prime un affichage des couvertures hyper qualitatif ! L’abonnement annuel est dérisoire, franchement il n’y a pas à hésiter !

I’m having trouble playing audio locally on my device. I’m only able to specify the http host and port, while I was able to get this working in another app using only the host and port, I am unable to figure out how to get mpd to play within this app using only those two fields. I believe I may need to include the filetype (possibly the specified mount point) within the url; e.g., http://192.168.1.247:8000/mpd.ogg (or .mp3). 

If I do not, could you point me in the right direction to figure this out?

I tried enabling ‘connect to IP’ in the settings, also didn’t work. I have configured both mp3 and ogg encodings to try and debug this, but cannot.

**Developer response:** Rigelian only supports streaming mp3 format encoded by mpd via lame. Here are settings from /etc/mpd.conf that are working:
