## What is Rigging Bridle Calculator+?

This application allows you to calculate the length of the legs, the angle between them, and the forces acting on the bridle and the elements of the structure to which it is suspended.

Thanks to additional calculators, it is possible to calculate the Apex height and the position of the bridle point, changes in the load on the beam between two points, as well as the forces acting on the cantilever load, breast line horizontal forces, and several other calculations useful in arena fields.

The application accepts all units of measurement, both metric and imperial (cm, m, in, ft). Whether you input values in feet or meters, the results will be accurate and consistent with the unit you used.

## Key features

- Calculate bridle leg lengths
- Determine angle between legs
- Calculate forces on bridle and structure
- Calculate apex height and bridle point position
- Analyze load changes on beams
- Calculate cantilever load forces
- Supports metric and imperial units

### 1/5 — Not helpful

*2025-03-27*

This app does not save time for calculating bridles on the fly. It does not allow for the optimal workflow, which is to select the short leg as a fixed length, the point distance as a fixed length, and calculate all of the remaining information.

I would suggest the following:
Allow the user to manually enter and “lock” one of the leg lengths, and have the calculator solve the remaining numbers. When we calculate bridles in the field, we need to solve for the apex height and the length that uses the STAC chain, usually the long leg in most scenarios. So we enter the two beam heights, the span between beams, the span from the short leg point with no adjustable STAC chain and then finally solve for the apex height and the adjustable leg. I built a spreadsheet calculator to do this since there no longer exists an app to help.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the feedback, but you are mistaken—the application is helpful for performing the calculations described in its description.

Regards

Thank you for your suggestion.
You can perform these calculations using my calculator. The minimum apex height is determined by the installation trim height, plus the motor and sling, while the maximum is defined by the bridle opening angle. The minimum apex height comes from the project documentation, and you can find the maximum using my calculator.
In the second section of the bridle calculator, if needed, you can calculate the apex height from the bridle leg lengths.

### 1/5 — Really? Inches or CM only?

*2024-05-13*

It is ridiculous that there isn’t a unit of measurement option to work in FEET AND INCHES. Having to convert every measurement into inches only and then convert back to feet and inches is a huge waste of time.

**Developer response:** Hi.
The application accepts all units of measurement, both metric and imperial (cm, m, in, ft).
Whether you input values in feet or meters, the results will be accurate and consistent with the unit you used. Use the cm/in switch if you want to convert between centimeters and inches, and the kg/lb switch to convert between kilograms and pounds, and vice versa.

### 3/5 — Looking good app but needs upgarde

For the bridle calculator you should be able to lock the lentgh of each legs and an ajustable apex

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback.
