## What is RiiS?

RiiS is a global platform where people share photos, videos and first-hand information about events happening around them.

Explore reports on an interactive world map, discover what is happening nearby, and follow situations developing in other parts of the world.

Become a RiiS Reporter and share what’s happening where you are. Your photos, videos and first-hand information may also be valuable to media organizations looking for original content.

With RiiS you can:

• Explore reports from around the world on an interactive map
• See what is happening nearby through content shared by people on the ground
• Publish photos, videos and first-hand information
• Add updates as a situation develops
• Help verify information by marking reports as reliable or unreliable
• Send information confidentially to the RiiS team
• Be contacted if your content may be of interest to media organizations

Public reports can be viewed by other users on the map and in the feed.

Confidential reports are sent privately to the RiiS team. If selected for publication, they may be published without revealing the author’s name or personal details.

Reports captured directly with the RiiS camera may include location and time information, providing additional context about where and when the content was created.

RiiS helps turn local perspectives into a global view of what is happening.

From community events and travel disruption to severe weather, accidents and unexpected situations, RiiS connects people on the ground with people who want to understand what is happening.

Media licensing pilot program

If a report attracts media interest, RiiS may contact the author to request authorization and discuss possible licensing conditions, including potential remuneration.

Not every report will be selected or licensed, and publishing content on RiiS does not guarantee remuneration.

RiiS will always contact the author before agreeing to any licensing or commercial use of their content.
