Was genuinely excited to stumble across this game again and realise it had been updated and brought back to life. 

Rimelands was one of the first iOS games that I truly fell in love with.

I used to LOVE this game back in the day!  Today I went to see if I could download it again through my purchased apps and discovered it was updated and rereleased! Awesome!!  Text is kinda small on my iphone 15 max pro (would be nice to have an option to increase text size), but otherwise works great!

I don't want to keep repeating one battle ad nauseum because of completely capricious dice rolls. What part of that is fun? Have given this game MANY chances but it's far too tedious.

This really is a superb turn based RPG. The graphics are very beautiful and the setting complex (the Fae, Norse mythology, Steam Punk- see the trifle guys review). Nice music and sound effects, and the dice rolling makes for a very tactile experience. I'm about half way through after a good few hours play. It does get difficult as a magic user (stealth and warrior classes also available), and you really need to think, use strategy, and use everything at your disposal to win the battles. Oh and use the save function. Very satisfying.
