### 2/5 — Nope

*2024-12-17*

Didn’t work, no recording at all. After 1.5 hrs of “recording” and despite the message I got after I sent customer service emails that “they respond with 24-48 hours” or something similar (it’s been weeks since I sent it ) still ZERO response. Apparently they still charge for subscriptions though that department is still up and running.

### 4/5 — Some issues

*2021-11-22*

There are minimal issues but a few bugs that needs to be worked out. Sometimes the start countdown doesn’t appear which leaves the host confused about if the call is actually being recorded.

### 3/5 — Great when it works

*2020-05-16, version 3.1.5*

When it works Ringr is great! Easy, good quality, etc. However, I’ve had at least 3-4 separate instances where it stopped in the middle of my recording, sound when silent, or neither party could connect.

### 1/5 — Avoid at all costs

*2019-07-12, version 3.1.5*

I’ll keep it short: set up an interview, recorded remotely for over an hour, and the upload process was a disastrous failure that destroyed everything.

Both parties audio was lost completely, nowhere to be accessed in the cloud or on either device. Support was inaccessible and useless.

If you’re a podcaster or someone depending on recording software like this, don’t make my mistake — this software cannot be trusted.

### 2/5 — Not reliable

*2019-06-04, version 3.1.5*

Wouldn’t let me log in when I’m the host, had to switch to Zoom. Pretty embarrassing!

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2019-05-26, version 3.1.5*

Recorded 3 episodes, got kicked out and now can’t access them. Someone help, it won’t let me log in.

### 2/5 — This could be great

*2019-05-24*

I was so excited to have found ringr. It was perfect for recording our podcast with my cohost living far from me. Unfortunately this app is unreliable and extremely frustrating. There is literally nothing I can do to make it work properly. It crashes and restarts I its own. There have been issues with the audio not uploading. I sent the emails and never heard back from them. I was really about this program but it’s definitely not worth my money. I’m canceling my subscription until the program is more reliable and consistent and they improve their customer support.

### 1/5 — The worst solution

*2018-10-31, version 3.1.5*

Beware: Do NOT use this app. You will lose your audio, or at the very least force you to jump through a million hoops to overcome their insane limitations and flaws.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work as advertised

*2018-10-18, version 3.1.5*

I’ve never been able to successfully complete a multi-person call on this system. It always kicks people off the call and that ruins the audio recording. Also, invite codes don’t always work. It’s frustrating because I’ve wasted hours trying to get it to work.

### 2/5 — Lost all confidence

*2018-09-03*

It worked flawlessly the first interview. It’s been trash for the other interviews. It either doesn’t work or can’t connect all parties. Plus support wasn’t helpful. I’ve lost all confidence (and a few guests) behind this service. What’s frustrating is that I can see what it could be. It’s outstanding when it works, I just don’t know when that will be.

### 3/5 — When it works it sounds GREAT

*2018-07-18*

This was the only podcast service I found that works well for long distance interviews over the phone. The problem is every interview except my latest has had technical issues requiring restarts of phones and browsers. The desktop website is confusing as well. Hopefully they will get things right soon. This has real potential!

### 4/5 — Nice concept for general purpose recording

*2018-04-17, version 3.1.3*

Wish there was a way to try out/review the highest quality recording sound without having to pay. The basic 96k file is better than phone, but still full of artifacts and phasing. Also, The “click on code” function is broken for me-crashes the app when pressed. My guest had to manually enter the code in order to connect. Good thing it’s only 5 characters long. Kind of a pain though. Still haven’t tried anything longer than a few minutes testing. The comments about the app crashing at various points has me not quite able to jump onboard.

### 2/5 — Works occasionally

*2018-03-31, version 3.1.3*

When it works, it's good. But that seems to be when I'm testing, not recording with my guest. Then clicking the "start recording" does nothing. Also crashes reliably at end of every recording

### 1/5 — App crashes!

*2017-09-04, version 3.0.1*

The app continues to crash immediately after connecting with my friend! We both made sure our settings are correct but still nothing.

### 2/5 — When it works it's great

*2017-01-20, version 2.7.4*

This is a good app when everything goes as planned, but most calls result in technical difficulties and we've had more than 1 failed podcast interview. There also isn't a support number to call if you need emergency help which is frustrating.

### 1/5 — Completely useless

*2016-09-30, version 2.7.3*

If you can manage to get Ringr to connect you're lucky. If you can get it to connect and keep the connection is a miracle. I've tried and tried and tried with this app because the concept is brilliant if you do a lot of audio interviews, which I do, but I'm done.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — NO LONGER WORKS!

*2025-03-12*

They took my money and then shut the app down. The website is no longer existent. The app no longer works. I requested a refund from them and they ignored it. $189 poof.

### 1/5 — Does Ringr exist any more?

*2025-01-19, version 4.0.6*

I took up a year’s subscription just a few months ago & now the app and website appear to have disappeared.
Very disappointing.

### 1/5 — No longer works

*2021-07-01*

I used Ringr for a year or so and it was great. Of late, they’ve lost conversations. And the latest issue is I can’t connect with my guests. When I push record, they can’t hear me or I can’t hear them. Ringr support people are polite but not helpful.

### 1/5 — Lost audio files

*2021-02-24*

I am not one to share a lot of negative feedback, but this app consistently loses 30-60 min audio files. Multiple times I have spent the time recording with someone for a weekly show, only to have the files lost. I loved this app but in the past few months it has lost it’s way, and is not worth the $18 it charges based on the fact that the app does not actually do what it is supposed to anymore.

### 1/5 — Frustrating and unreliable

*2020-12-31, version 4.0.0*

This app has way to many problems. It only works with certain browsers, consistently has connection problems and sometimes loses recordings. There are more reliable, simpler and cheaper products out there. Avoid

### 1/5 — Very Unreliable

*2020-12-14, version 3.1.5*

Endless issues connecting with the other party. The five or so times I have tried this, four of the calls I had to rescedule at the time because either the other party could not connect or I could not hear them. Yesterday could not connect at all, even though on her end it said ‘waiting for host’. It has also been impossible to schedule the right time for a call because it will not use a simple interface but instead a analogue clock design that has impossible to move hands. I am so angry and will be asking for a refund. AVOID RINGR.

### 1/5 — Simply Doesn’t Work

*2020-04-24*

The promises of studio quality recordings are false. It’s glitchy software and it simply doesn’t do what it’s advertised as being capable of doing. Don’t subscribe to this service.

### 1/5 — Beware of Support and trying to upgrade!

*2020-01-08, version 3.1.5*

Tired to upgrade to premium, paid the fee to upgrade for the whole year and the app won’t change the settings from basic still, even after I paid. I tried the RINGR support team and all Keith said was to ask Apple.....what the heck is Apple going to do for me??? Super frustrated right now.

### 1/5 — poor customer service

*2019-11-09, version 3.1.5*

really difficult to get this to work...tried 6 podcasts...1 was ok

customer service is nonexistent

### 1/5 — Not working and no customer support

*2019-08-13*

I’ve just paid for a premium plan hoping to have the best quality recording. I recorded my first podcast with a very important guest based in London and I’m still waiting for my file 4 hours later!! The only answer I get 2 hours later is that the interviewee should re-open the app. She did and still no recording. It’s a shame there aren’t any clear instructions given to the host as far as what each party is supposed to do for the recording to work. It’s also a shame to have no customer support whatsoever on this. A waste of my time, money, and a very bad image for my business. Don’t choose this app.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Big improvements

*2021-08-13*

Ringr used to be generally reliable with minor bumps, but over the past year they changed how they record and save audio in real time on the cloud, and since Feb 2021 I’ve had zero issues. Customer service always responds very quickly if I need something. Highly recommend.

### 5/5 — Super happy...and sounds amazing!

*2021-08-12*

If you’re looking for a quick, simple way to connect for a podcast or radio interview and have the audio sound GREAT, this is the way to go. Love RINGR!

### 5/5 — RINGR Rocks!

*2021-01-05*

Yes, they’ve had a few problems recently, but I’ve recorded a lot of conversations with RINGR and only recently did I encounter any problems, which the update should address.

One of the best features is the ability to download individual tracks in different formats and resolutions. A great tool if you want good quality and editable tracks.

Thanks.

### 5/5 — Phenomenal!

*2018-08-07*

I think this is a phenomenal app. My girlfriend and I use it a lot. The only thing I wish is that it was a bit more accessible with voice over, and it had an option to share recordings to Dropbox.

### 5/5 — Nice Voice Clarity

*2016-02-05, version 2.3.0*

It has got amazing feature of clarity and consume very less data.
What you need more from this app.Really Excellent.
It works good even on 2g internet
Voice clarity is good on calling

### 5/5 — This App Has Changed The Way I Podcast

*2015-12-04, version 2.0.1*

RINGR is one of those few apps that come along to solve a massive problem - how to record great quality interviews.

If you create audio interviews (or simply want to record a remote conversation) then I highly recommend downloading this app.

### 5/5 — Love It

*2015-12-03*

We record phone conversations as part of our premium experience for podcast subscribers. It works fantastic. Clear audio on both ends and simple to use. We’ve now begun using it for interviews when our interviewee needs to do the segment via phone. Awesome.

### 5/5 — Great audio quality for post produced programming

*2015-12-03, version 2.0.1*

Although there are a few glitches from time to time, overall RINGR is a great app. I use it several times a week and I've been able to secure quality audio for post produced radio programming. It's usually very easy for both the guest and myself to use. However, I would like to see an option to text the interview code in addition to just the email option. Also as I'm scheduling interviews, it would be nice to have a copy of the interview code in case the guest didn't receive it for some reason.

### 5/5 — The Best, Hands Down!

*2015-12-03*

The best method I know of for recording interviews and conversations with anyone, anywhere in the world, and sound like the two of you are in the same room. I’ve seen other, similar apps come and go. Ringr is hands down the best and is here to stay! Excellent, excellent product.

### 5/5 — Beautiful

*2015-10-08*

Tried this a few months ago and it was a bit buggy. Upon trying it again this week, it worked seamlessly. This app is for connecting two callers and recording their conversation in MP3 podcast form. My business partner and I both used iPhones, no issue there. The audio came out clear as day. The app sends you 3 files (2 individual recordings of the callers & then the combined mix of the two). I couldn't ask for more. We didn't use microphones or anything and it still sounded great. Seriously, this an amazing app. Especially for when you have interview to conduct with people out of state. I'm happy I found this app and definitely recommend it!
