However it frequently doesn't generate the ringtone. It'll work with other voices but not the one you want; then if you change what it says it DOES work. I believe this is a bug that they should work out. ### 4/5 — Too much fun *2012-10-10, version 12.1* The simple fact that you can make Siri curse is enough.. I would give it five stars if we could download right then but other than that it is easy to do. As far as the spam go. I used a fake email address and I had no issues. Just remember the email addy you used the first time and your good!! No spam here ### 4/5 — Cool App! *2012-03-17, version 9.1* This is a highly versatile app that lets you chose different sounds and voices. Type what you want the ringtone to say, choose a sound, then choose a voice. Tap the create tab and hear your new ringtone. Cool app and simple to use. The app would be better if there was a preview button to hear the new ringtone instead of having to create it. ### 4/5 — Lots of options *2012-03-16, version 9.1* Good value. There are lots of options because you can type in anything and can use different messages and voices on all your alerts, messaging features, alarms & individual phone ringtones. I'd like more music options and the voices are a bit too computer sounding still but they are continually improving on that and they regularly update voices. Also, being able to preview before creating would be convenient otherwise it's fun to play with and worthwhile. The tech support is excellent. I sent an email question and they responded within an hour and solved my issue. ### 4/5 — Awesome support!! *2011-10-18, version 7.3* Great app that works around Apples ringtone restrictions nicely. An easier/quicker process would be great, but I guess Apple's issues prevent that at this point. But the best part was the customer support I received. I didn't pick up on the process well, so the developer hung in with me and patiently fixed the problem, without reminding me how dense I must have seemed. Works great...serves its purpose we'll. I hate mornings so also use with my alarms to tell me what time it is in 15 min intervals. Love the ability to have it say anything I want and know who who is calling before I look at my phone. It has some nice FX as well. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Ringtones Uncensored *2011-10-16, version 7.3* In order to use this app, or service, you must submit your 'ringtone text' along with your email address to a web service. Even then, the ringtone is not emailed back to you. This app requires a computer to retrieve the created ringtone from a website. Next, the retrieved ringtone must be imported to iTunes and then finally synced back to your device where it was originally created. This app is fully web based. ### 1/5 — Fun but lacking *2010-06-03, version 0* It was fun for the first 30 minutes. However as soon as I heard the small selection of voices I was quickly dissapointed. Yes you can make thousands of ringtones. But you don't have many options for the spoken text you input. I just couldn't get a good voice and didn't find anywhere that I could download some.  I could play all day with the soundFX but you can't keep my attention when it comes to the voices. ### 1/5 — Total waste of (too much) time... *2010-04-27, version 0* It's fun and a great concept but the voices are too computerized and hard to understand. You have to download the ringtones from your pc and then sync your iPhone to get them (which takes a lot of time) and then...the ringtones caused an error in my library according to iTunes. Don't waste your time or your buck! I wish the programmers were as good at responding to problems as they are at emailing you when you leave a bad review. I've been waiting for help downloading my ringtones to no avail. I'm asking for a refund just to make my point. This app doesn't do what it advertises. ### 2/5 — Needs a preview button!! *2011-07-09, version 7.3* How can u hear what it is going sound like before you go through an entire process to download it. It "ties" you to your computer. People that are indecisive would benefit from this by being able to change the ringtone till it sounds right. ### 2/5 — Meh. *2010-07-29, version 0* Nice concept...Very easy to learn/use. A BUNCH of great QUALITY intro sounds.. But the text to voice is EXTREMELY ROBOTIC except for the devil voice (which I continually use because it's the only clear one). If you could give us an option to record our own sounds/voices, that'd be GREAT. That way I can have something that sounds remotely human. I rarely give less than 5 stars....but I have to this time...because the voices are atrocious. I look like a fool with these voice ringtones that sound like something out of buck Rodgers talking to me. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ADD A RECORDER ON...it doesn't even have to modify my voice. I just want it to sound human. ### 2/5 — Not a bad idea *2010-06-25, version 0* The idea is good, and can be fun although it could become obnoxious. There is room for improvement in the quality of the voices. They still sound very mechanical, and the ones that could be fun are just annoying right now (like valley girl). You would think w all the technology we have out there that we could get some "rea" voices. I'm disapointed that I had to pay for this app... Might be worth it if the voices were Better quality!!! ### 3/5 — T'was Okay... *2010-12-22, version 6.1* So I tried using this app to make a creative unique ringtone. After an hour I had gotten no further then the voices and noises. There isn't much you can do as far as tones and beats go. I didn't understand the 6 buttons on the bottom, they did nothing. 'Slow' did not slow anything down, 'Loud' didn't make anything louder etc. Having to install from the pc AND check your email to use on iphone was also a pain. Overall if you like the basics of this app then by all means enjoy, but if you want a real ringtone look elsewhere. ### 3/5 — Cool but... *2010-10-28, version 0* For some reason it doesn't work when I try to add my custom massage to the sound that comes first. It worked once with the "ahem" sound and the butler voice, but I can't make any other ringtone work. It always only plays the sound and not my message. And I can't find any kind of contact page for NoTie, so I hope you're reading this. ### 3/5 — Fun to use! *2010-10-23, version 0* Great concept to have a ring tone followed by a message. I found the ring tones were sometimes cut too short, however. Some were just the right length for the full tune, but some were chopped off right in the middle of the tune/soundbite. I'd like to see a better recording of these tunes in future releases. The messages were quite wonderful because you make them up yourself! I found most of the voices to be somewhat computerized and mechanical. In this day of advances in computer technology the voices should be able to sound a lot better than what they do here.
