I don’t listen to radio anywhere else, hugely grateful that this exists. It’d be great to see a few improvements to the app though if possible: The player is really fussy if you wanna scroll back and forth, sometimes it bugs out so hard that you have to quit the app all together and start again. Would be amazing to be able to mark shows as favourites, so it’s easy to keep up with the latest episodes. Also being able to use the app with Carplay would be amazing. Using the app whilst driving is pretty much impossible. ### 4/5 — Awesome database of sound *2023-11-19* Unbelievable amount of listening content provided by Rinse, feels real slick. There are some features missing that would make this absolutely perfect, like a way to save particular channels or shows maybe with a favorites section and a search function. And the slider button is awful, you have to put a finger on the line somewhere and hope for the best. ### 3/5 — Love the music, but unstable app *2023-06-13* I really want to give this 5 stars but most of the time, the play button just isn’t responsive when trying to launch a show. It just hangs and hangs. I end up having to restart the app to get it to play. Other than that, I love how organized the app is, and I can easily find the show I want to listen to. Of course, the music is proper, but we all know that! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Slow, broken and unresponsive *2025-06-19, version 2.3.1* The music is the only saving grace with this app, playback is slow and unresponsive regardless of data or connection. It will sometimes take the app 2 minutes just to start playing and the download function is aspirational at best. ### 1/5 — Love Rinse but app no longer works in background *2024-12-08* Love everything about this app and music except for the fact that it cuts the audio off when you lock the screen. App isn’t listed in “Background App Refresh” menu so there is no way to fix it until the developers add this in. ### 1/5 — Music is great; interface - not so much *2024-06-06* What’s happening devs? ### 1/5 — Stops playing randomly all the time *2023-07-31* Doesn’t matter where I am, wifi or data. Without fail every ~5 minutes I have to reopen the app and press play on whatever station i was listening to. I’m lucky to get 3 songs before I’m back to silence. ### 2/5 — Some basics that don’t work *2025-10-06, version 2.4.2* I love the station, the app “works” when I play something for a bit. That’s great. But it needs to be able to have native controls for pause/volume, and it needs to not lose my place when I leave and comeback to a show. Otherwise I generally won’t use it hence 2* for the product) And I want to download in app. Probably been spoiled with (not great but very slick) other apps from national broadcasters with hundreds of developers, but I hope these things can be added/fixed! ### 2/5 — Amazing radio, poor app *2025-09-22, version 2.3.5* The good news is that the music on offer is incredible. So, so happy I came across this - they have an epic selection of music that touches on everything from jazz to far out electronica. The issue is the app. You can’t download anything (presumably a bug at the moment), which means you can’t listen on the tube/anywhere offline. If you listen back to a show, you can’t pause it and pick up again where you where you left off - it restarts the show. You also can’t search by music genre - that’s only available on the website. Overall, I’d say it’s a better experience when listening via the website, so do that. ### 2/5 — Not working *2025-03-22, version 2.3.0* All that works is the shop since last update. ### 2/5 — Functional, but needs fixing / updating *2024-07-07, version 2.2.9* Currently, the schedule tab is broken for Kool, showing no upcoming shows or who is on air. We are also supposed to be able to replay shows from the week, but most shows (at least for Kool) are unavailable. Not sure if this is a fault the the app or something else, but it needs to be looked at as the option is pretty much useless at present. Much Love ### 5/5 — Everything sick *2025-12-12, version 2.4.4* Really happy that the audio player now supports native controls. I can finally play and pause from my headphones! Properly delighted. I’ll be using the app a whole load more from now on. If you could add carplay support too I’l give you 6 stars 😉 Big ups ### 5/5 — Flawless Amazing Perfection *2025-11-09, version 2.4.4* This is maybe the best radio/music app ever based on how much pure music is available free from the best radio station for these types of genres nothing in the world comes close the app has never crashed you can download free they’ve added shop now too so you can support this I can’t stress how important this app is and you should all get it and massive respect to all Rinse Kool owners and app developers for this and now since the November 2025 update it’s ever better the skip forward feature fixed all previous issues ### 5/5 — Big renovation *2024-05-27* Major props for the app overhaul, it’s really nice I can stream old shows directly from the app. Downloading shows is also super convenient (hope this comes to the android version someday). Of course the content is as great as ever, gives a voice to the artists that don’t always get the mainstream attention. Only thing that could improve is maybe an easier way to find new shows, as some sort of subscribe/follow/bookmark function. ### 5/5 — Rinse FM is still a threat! *2024-04-04* Love love love rinse fm and the much needed updates to the app are appreciated for one of my favorite music stations. A feature I hope to see implemented is a way to see a list of shows filtered to a type or genre you search by 🤠 ### 5/5 — Amazing Content and lots of it *2024-03-23* Amazing collection of artists and mixes from so so many top name djs and artists and shows this app works very well and you can download shows and it downloads fast too the UI sometimes freezes but not often and if it does re open app and it’s fine.
