In that light, I’m not sure of the app’s purpose. The single, eerie, cathedral bell toll makes me laugh though, so I keep it. ### 4/5 — This app is pretty cool *2021-09-05, version 1.1* This app is great fun, personalised ringtone is hella cool and it's a great convo starter, only problem I have is not all the deaths tell you how they died, other than that tho it's pretty good! It is a very interesting concept for an app and has been executed well. The other review talks about the deaths being irrelevant people, but then mentions KEYBOARD CAT? Who doesn’t know about the amazing Keyboard Cat! He was a legend. And there isn’t enough extremely major celebrity deaths every day for the app to be provided with enough in the feed, so they have to fill it with slightly less famous deaths. What do you expect? ### 4/5 — death do us part *2018-09-03, version 1.1* this app is really great! i love knowing about dead people but there isn't lots of updates. so i could get an update one day and then wait WEEKS for a new one. it’s kinda boring. i haven't seen a new dead person since August. ### 2/5 — Obscure ‘VIPs’! *2018-04-09, version 1.1* I like the concept of the app, not because I have any dark tendencies but it’s important news to know which major public figures have passed on. But the app is either so US-centric or just darn obscure because I have hardly beware of anybody whose deaths get announced. Sure there are a few big names, Winne Mandela and Stephen Hawking, but we’ve also recently had, Chuck McCann, Steven Bochoo, Rusty Staub, Charles Lazarus, and Bento the keyboard cat, none of whom I am familiar with. So I hope this gives you an idea. For me it’s a waste of money as the truly big names I’d known about anyway. ### 5/5 — Nice app! *2016-09-29, version 1.1* Works properly, extremely interesting. I'm in. It posts less death notices than just an average news source. Deleted the app. ### 1/5 — A death of a tree *2023-09-28, version 1.1* Had this app for awhile. Hits and misses with obits. Some people I heard of but others in music and film never heard of. Today, they announced the death of Sir Michael Gambon from Harry Potter. Then few minutes ago, they had the passing of a sycamore tree in England. Story was from Reuters. Since when do we mourn a tree. I am surrounded by trees, but they are inanimate objects. If this passes for journalism, humanity is doomed ### 1/5 — Refund *2021-07-07* I demand a refund right now. App doesn’t even work to contact anyone. Would give it less than one star if i could. Have not even had one notification before a death is heard about some place else. Then a day or so later it the app opened. Had two deaths since owning the app and neither one shows in the app. Piece of garbage. I got it so i could hear about celebrity deaths right as soon as they happen. But even though I have the notifications on, i NEVER get any alerts that let me know when someone has passed away. This means I have to check the app regularly, which is annoying because I might as well just check the news :/ Disappointed that I wasted my money on this app DO NOT BUY IT ### 2/5 — Slow on the draw & notable misses *2019-12-11, version 1.1* Other sources often beat this app to the punch. It also misses some more famous while heralding the more obscure. Recent miss, notable actor Ron Leibman. They could do better. It said it would announce local deaths but it just logs “famous” persons/animals. I’m going to keep it fer a bit.
