## What is RISC?

RISC-V Assembly Simulator is a mobile 32-bit system simulator. The app simulates the entire system, all the way from each individual unit on a CPU to the memory subsystem. Write assembly natively to the CPU, with a built-in debugger so you can analyze your code and see what the hardware is doing.

## Key features

- 32-bit system simulation
- CPU unit simulation
- Memory subsystem simulation
- Native assembly coding
- Built-in debugger
- Hardware analysis

### 5/5 — Wonderful Tool for Experimenting with Modern Low-Level Programming

*2025-10-07*

RISC-V Assembly Simulator is an incredible and unique tool for iOS users with programming experience who want to expand their knowledge in low-level programming. This app provides the resources necessary to tinker with the RV32I instruction set (and apparantly more sets to come), allowing users to experiment with a form of low-level programming that is otherwise difficult to use on iOS.

In addition to the undeniable qualities of the app itself, the developer is quite friendly and responsive to feedback, providing a very pleasant experience with addressing bugs or adding helpful features.

Overall, being a user of RISC-V Assembly Simulator has been a very educational and enjoyable experience. I recommend this app to anyone interested in learning the fundamentals of low-level programming.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.3 — 2026-06-23

Significant speed increase almost 2x for single core and 3x for dual core
Code editor now has highlighting syntax, and is customizable!
All new UI for interacting with apple intelligence
Fixed bug where token count wouldn't update on apple intelligence
Improved sample program and documentation

### 2.2 — 2026-05-26

Minor CPU revision - when failing to fully decode an instruction, halt is used instead of allowing a partial decode
Assembler now supports ASCII for immediate values. Write it as 'ABCD' for 4 bytes.
Push and pop pseudo support added
Small improvements to encoding immediates
When viewing a number in an instruction result, a little menu appears showing all notations of the value (hex binary signed unsigned ASCII)
Updated results page when no program is running
Fixed bug where you can't filter logs when program Is halted

### 2.1 — 2026-05-13

UI Changes -
Running a program is now a dedicated tab allowing you to edit and run much faster
Apple intelligence conversations now show token capacity (ios 26.4+)
Unselect button when selecting all programs
Importing a program now generates a success message
