### 3/5 — Limited function

*2026-01-12*

Rit doesnt seem to have secure login channels for the app. Integrating eservices would be appreciated for secure transacting.

### 2/5 — :(

*2024-08-22*

The map low key broken. Went the wrong way. Much sad :(

### 2/5 — Why doesn’t it let you login to your account

*2023-08-24*

There should be a way to connect your accounts directly to the app. It’s basically just links to other sites in one place, why shouldn’t it just be combined into one place.

### 3/5 — Bus stop notifications please.

*2022-02-07*

Please add bus notifications for 5, 10, or 15 mins before a bus is at a selected stop

### 2/5 — Needs serious work for an "Institute of Technology"

*2020-08-17*

I wish the developers would make this open source. There are several things in this app that are frustratingly un-intuitive, especially design-wise. For a school that boasts "Technology" in it's name, this app is pretty disappointing.

### 2/5 — Needs Some Fixes

*2015-07-30*

When it works, it's alright. I wish that my food debit would be on here (maybe a sign in option for that) and eservices and such. However, most of the time when I open it it immediately crashes. Please update before the next semester, we need it

### 2/5 — Bus schedules are very confusing

*2015-07-20*

I don't like that they changed the style of times. I like old version of bus schedules so much better.. Please change it back! Thanks!

Pros: everything is good except bus schedules.

### 1/5 — Needs Serious Work

*2012-08-26*

Requires too much searching for stuff to be useful. App should be able to use the date/time to simply display if a dining location or lab is open, then simply display the days hours and maybe tomorrow's hours.

Could use a map and checking debit pr tiger bucks balances as well.

All in all it's not very useful or user friendly.

### 4/5 — Tigers!!

*2012-01-13*

Good app for common things. If this app was able to use email service or a RIT search engine it would be amazing!! Go tigers!!

### 4/5 — Good Start

*2011-12-08*

Wish I could check my tiger bucks and debit from the app. Hope that will come in version 2. Map will be useful.

### 4/5 — More

*2011-12-08*

Would like dept. pages

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Stay in the app

*2025-08-25, version 4.1.1*

Why does it refuse to stay in the app? What’s the point of an app at that point?

### 1/5 — 🤨

*2024-02-16*

The map never works, sometimes the button to pay for online food orders breaks and shows a loading icon for an indefinite period of time (refreshing/closing and reopening the app does nothing to solve this) and the UI is awful. For a tech university with a new media design program, this app is laughably bad.

### 1/5 — Bruh

*2021-08-17, version 4.0*

Not good

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2021-03-16*

Only way to order food is through this app, and it has no way of processing credit card payments. I tried 3 different cards and they al failed. The map also doesn’t work, and the UI is bad

### 1/5 — Not a good app

*2019-08-05, version 3.6*

You would think that a school which prides itself on having an amazing art program, an amazing tech program, and lots of opportunity to interlink the two would be able to produce a good phone app.

This is not a good app. First and foremost, it doesn't work if you aren't on the internet. Since campus doesn't have outdoor WiFi everywhere yet, that means you can't check the bus schedule on your way between classes without turning on cell data about half the time.

Second, it is mostly a thin wrapper around web views. Sure, this saves development effort, but the result is worse than just setting up some bookmarks in Safari, because at least Safari looks good. This app's primary color scheme is orange on dark gray.

Third, the choice of where to make a custom interface and where to just open the website baffles me. The "Social" module has custom UI to display Tweets and Facebook posts that is much worse than simply showing the websites for Twitter or Facebook. But the dining hours and locations page is served unchanged from the web. The dining hours would benefit tremendously from having a custom UI better suited for a phone, why did they spend that effort on the social tab (which I would be surprised if people actually used)?

I do give credit where credit is due, however. The most recent update fixed some buttons in the in-app browser (please just use SafariViewController) that were read by VoiceOver as "KGC_not_localized," so that's a definite improvement. The app's bundle size is also about 10 MB, which is a little less than what I'd expect for a simple utility app like this.

I hope that this app continues to improve in the future, especially improvements that result in more UIKit and less HTML. I also hope that the accessibility of the app continues to improve, because RIT does have several students who would benefit from improved VoiceOver support.

### 1/5 — No on campus Shuttles schedules anymore

*2015-07-22, version 3.1*

Don't update. 24 Marketplace bus schedule is there but no on campus shuttle schedule. :/

### 1/5 — Needs to be fixed

*2015-04-14*

The app constantly crashes and is extremely slow.

### 1/5 — Constantly crashes.

*2015-02-03*

I can't even open the app anymore since it crashes on start up

### 1/5 — Horrible update

*2012-11-26, version 2.0*

Still no iPhone 5 support? Added new pointless features? So mad I updated the app.

### 1/5 — Crash!

*2012-11-22, version 2.0*

New update makes the app issuable because it crashes every times I go to Shuttle section.

### 5/5 — Redesign is a HUGE Step Up

*2026-04-30*

The new redesign that was just released is a huge step up from the old app. It’s a lot easier to see information in the app, it’s more responsive, and information is actually displayed within the app rather than sending you to a browser or an integrated web view. There are links to just about every possible RIT thing you could need now as well.

I’m also very happy with the decision to build a new RIT app in-house instead of using another vendor app, because it’s already proven itself as proving a better experience and it should hopefully be able to change as needed rather than going stagnant after a couple of years.

All in all, great work ITS!!

### 5/5 — New app changes!

*2026-04-30*

This is a major improvement on the old app. Everything is so clean and well designed to use. Dining features are super helpful.

### 5/5 — Good app

*2024-08-19, version 4.1*

I love this app😍😍😍😍

### 5/5 — Pretty Tasty

*2021-08-17, version 4.0*

### 5/5 — RIT mobile

*2014-01-23, version 2.2.1*

love this app

### 5/5 — AEC_007

*2013-11-09, version 2.2.1*

I Love RIT.

### 5/5 — Rit app!

*2013-08-26*

This is awesome! I don't have to bring rit guides!

### 5/5 — Student

*2011-12-08, version 1.0.1*

Really good app!!!

### 4/5 — Pretty good!

*2015-09-01*

There are many things you can do on this app! Works pretty well.

### 4/5 — RIT handheld helpfulness

*2014-06-01*

This app is really useful for bus schedules, maps, and anything at RIT. It would be more useful if they had updates with changes to daily events, or if school is closed or not (though it never does). Overall, good to have, and no major flaws.
