### 3/5 — App function

*2025-04-18*

The filters are great, really enjoying the results. But the entire development of the app needs work, the filters switches to another when I select a certain one to shoot from. Also, sometimes the camera button doesn’t work on my iPhone 16pro. Request to please fix.

### 4/5 — Very nice Retro look

*2025-01-04*

Please make an Option so that the Analog Filter can used as standard when the Camera is started

### 4/5 — Love the filters but photo comes out at 12mp

*2024-06-10, version 1.10*

Love the filters but on my 15 pro max I can’t get a 24mp photo…why is that? 48mp works

### 3/5 — Great camera app but edit function missing

*2024-05-20, version 1.10*

I really like the app but having no option to apply the filters to existing photos shot with the stock camera app is a bummer. Also I‘d prefer a one-time purchase option (and maybe additional one-time paid upgrades when new filters are added) over the annual subscription model.

### 4/5 — Great App! Highly Recommend

*2024-05-04, version 1.10*

Some suggestions for future updates:
- Let us apply film simulations to RAW images after the image has already been taken
- Additional new effects, such as Positive Film
- An option for the drag to select effects being limited to favorites only
- when bringing up the favorites list make the icons clickable

### 5/5 — Got for xpan crop but it’s so much more

*2023-12-09, version 1.7.2*

I have an xpan but rarely take it out. Got this for the xpan crop but enjoying the subscription profiles!

Made for photographers especially the Fuji crowd! Love the pared down controls so u can focus on capturing the shot

### 4/5 — Awesome! Bugs to report.

*2023-10-28*

Pressing the volume button to activate the shutter is active even when the settings screen is open or photo editor/viewer is open.

### 5/5 — A pleasure to use

*2023-09-21*

Ritchie well done for this app! It’s making me enjoy shooting with my iPhone again.

The results seem to be free of over-sharpening like the regular iPhone pics (awful white edges). It’s a game changer for me.

As a UX designer, I find this app to be one of the most pleasurable to use. Really snappy. I love the possibility to choose different format like 24:65 or 3:2, and the drag shortcut to change filter.

Next step, give us the possibility to create and play with our own recipes like we do on Fujis?

### 5/5 — XPan tasting!

*2023-09-03, version 1.6.1*

I no longer use the iPhone camera app for stills.
The panoramic XPan simulation, together with some fabulous film simulation colour pallets makes this my favourite mobile camera. Additionally, the ability to save the raw file allows excellent exposure latitude when imported and edited in Lightroom.
The free version is good, the paid version is fantastic.

### 5/5 — Very good

*2023-07-03, version 1.6.0*

Love using a Fuji X weekly filters! Nice seeing an app for iPhone!
Suggestions: able to import pictures and edit with the filters

### 4/5 — Beautiful film simulation

*2023-06-11, version 1.6.0*

The filters and colors are awesome! I do wish that it could use a few of the regular camera functions, such as zoom and portrait mode- It’d be phenomenal if those things were added. And an option to let you edit photos taken with your regular iphone camera. I think the app would be close to perfect then.

### 5/5 — I love this app!! Thank you

*2023-06-11, version 1.6.0*

Thank you for making this app!!

### 3/5 — Ok app, but disagree with the yearly subscription

*2023-06-10, version 1.6.0*

I read his comments about it and this is not the same as Apple Music. I understand wanting to get recurring income, but this not the kind of app to do that. There are no servers to maintain. It’s software that is sold as is and should cost a fixed price. If he comes out with new features, those can be an additional fixed cost. No servers to run, no recurring subscription.

### 4/5 — Lovely!

*2023-04-10*

Wonderful app with fun filters. One big gripe however - please black out the viewfinder when in the app switcher similar to how the default camera app works. Loading up the camera also shows the last frame for a split second which I don’t like as well.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Poor programming

*2024-10-13*

Very poor programming. It freezes quite often and cannot be used. Very limited filters in total.

### 1/5 — Could be a lot better - only 2 free filters

*2024-02-17, version 1.9*

Only two free filters available to use. if you want more you have to pay a subscription of $13 a year depending on where you are to unlock the rest it’s a bit of an overkill. I wouldn’t mind paying one time fee. Annual subscription kills it.

### 1/5 — Pass

*2023-03-31*

So sad it’s not a one time purchase !

### 1/5 — Not worth 10$ a year

*2022-12-03, version 1.3.0*

I decided to bite the bullet and purchase a year subscription. The filters are terrible, they don’t even look remotely like what they’re supposed to. There’s no film grain, there’s no option for time stamps, and there’s no Fujifilm or vsco type options. I feel like I just wasted 10$ and plan on canceling my sub. If only you allowed a trial period to see if you even want to use the app but all the camera options are locked behind a paywall. This is a joke and now I’m furious.

### 1/5 — Probably a nice app

*2022-03-10, version 1.0.2*

It’s probably a nice app to use but uncertain about a recurring charge to use it. $10 isn’t a bad price to pay to unlock the features available but $10/year is not worth it to me. I’ll keep using my combination of other apps to capture & edit.

### 1/5 — Not worth it

*2022-03-04, version 1.0.1*

• the photos are always overexposed, the contrast is too high
• the 3 free filters are no big deal
• HEIC only (even though the AC is set to JPG)
• focusing point is linked to the exposure causing over/under exposure
• no GPS info is recorded
• the filter switching is clumsy
• the lens switching and EV comp are in the picture area

At least one can try it for free.

### 1/5 — .

*2022-03-02*

Just another vintage-like presets cam app, nothing special. Only 3 presets available for free, it's not enough for make any competition to another apps

**Developer response:** This one is designed to be simple and intuitive, so that anyone would feel comfortable using it. Were there any other issues to warrant a one-star review? That seems pretty harsh for it being "just another" camera app.

### 2/5 — nice concept

*2024-07-10, version 1.10.1*

really roasted images though on 15pro max. it's like when you zoom in the image has that noise reduction watercolor effect cranked up to 11. the photo look like mosaics

### 2/5 — It’s not working for me

*2023-10-27*

Going to the photos just displays a black screen. No photos taken appear to be saved.

### 2/5 — Import

*2022-03-04, version 1.0.1*

I really like the app and I was ready to paid the 9.99 a year. But there’s no way you can import pictures taken from the native camera.

In my case I like to take my pictures with another app and have the “original” file also.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Amazing App with possible improvements

*2025-08-24*

Amazing App and idea! Love the receipts for my Fuji Cam already. This is a nice addon for my iPhone, but I’ll really love if it would be possible to edit already existing Photos (raws) in my library with this app as well. Then 5 more stars. 😃

### 5/5 — XPan in your pocket

*2025-05-14, version 1.23.0*

I’m a voracious XPan photographer who just loves the 24x65 aspect ratio. And on the rare occasion when I don’t have that exotic beast over my shoulder, I reach for RitchieCam. The film simulations are excellent, and I’m sure there’s plenty of depth to the app I’ve yet to explore. But the XPan mode alone is worth the price of admission (and a subscription). Thanks for your excellent work — the smash hit podcast I Dream of Cameras loves your app!

### 5/5 — Exellent

*2024-11-01, version 1.20.1*

I have used this for years now and it’s been great since day one

### 5/5 — Replaced the standard camera app for me

*2024-08-08*

I just love the look of the Standard Film in RitchieCam. It works in almost any situation and produces results that I find really pleasing. This has replaced apps like VSCO or RNI for me completely and saves me a lot of time! Bought the annual subscription just to support the dev Ritchie, the guy behind FujiXweekly.

### 5/5 — AMAZING

*2024-04-15*

Solid addition to everyone’s iPhone. Love the new update - hopefully Positive Film is coming soon!

### 5/5 — Almost perfect

*2024-03-26*

Instant love for this app .
Film simulations are top notch .
Just missing a spot metering

### 5/5 — Best Film Simulation on iOS

*2024-03-15, version 1.9*

I have tried a few other apps that provide some sort of film simulation on iOS. A few require adding those filters in post while some just dont give the results I was expecting.
This is by far the best and the easiest to use.
You just have to worry about the composition and the app does the rest. The photos come out really good.

### 5/5 — This app is AMAZING!

*2024-03-07, version 1.9*

It’s so easy to use and the filters are beautiful

### 5/5 — Xpan crop and analog filters

*2024-02-28, version 1.9*

Might be the one… Fluid app with many crop options. Minimal design and results have a real authentic feel.

### 5/5 — Xpan Crop!

*2024-01-06, version 1.9*

Thank you thank you thank you for the 65:24 option!

This is the first app I have found that allows that option as a frame to compose not just crop afterwards. This works great with the 48mp option. The file comes out to ~ 24mp.
