We have stayed at the hotel twice before in 2016 Main Block & 2019 Sea View Room, so we knew what the room looked like in 2019. To be honest it hadn’t changed and was in dire need of an update and proper maintenance. The foot stools on the balcony were tired and worn. The Entrance Door had been poorly “repaired” at some point, both the lock and the door frame, I have photos to back up my point. This is not the standard you expect at a RIU Palace 5* Hotel. The Hotel Staff (Cleaners & Waiters) are excellent at what they do. The staff is always nice, helpful, and happy to help. Our requests were fulfilled making our 29th anniversary memorable. Luis Anaya in the beach area is fantastic providing my wife an I with the best service. The entire restaurant, hotel, pool etc… staff define true customer attention. Hence why this is our 5th stay at this location and will be returning again next year. We don’t drink alcohol so soft drinks are the drinks of choice. We don’t use all the food restaurants/times. We only eat meals like at home. I would highly recommend Riu to everyone we meet. We try different hotels around the world. The hotel accommodation , food and the staff are superb. Because of illness my wife and I have not returned for too long but hope to in the near future. Status *2026-07-21* Die Anzahl der in der App genannten Übernachtungen und der Prozentwert sind bezogen auf den Status absolut irreführend und nutzlos. Hintergrund ist, dass in der App die Daten bezogen auf den letzten Checkout genannt werden. Für den Status sind allerdings die Übernachtungen der letzten 2 Jahre zum Zeitpunkt der Überprüfung relevant. Und so verliert man bei RIU seinen Status obwohl in der App 100% und mehr Nächte als erforderlich angezeigt werden. Diese Angaben haben null Mehrwert für den Kunden. Und den relevanten Wert soll man sich im Jahr 2026 offensichtlich noch von Hand ausrechnen. Auch ein Telefonat mit einem Supervisor von RIU Class war ohne Erfolg. The digital key card worked maybe 20% of the time. Resort would only give 1 card per room and there were 5 of us. We were unable to book restaurants together since we had multiple rooms as the app never worked correctly for us. It’s a great concept if it worked and the staff would help and their WiFi worked ### 1/5 — Horrible *2026-07-09, version 5.40.5* Can’t log in. It keeps spinning. ### 1/5 — LCP *2026-07-04, version 5.40.5* At hotel now Riu Capo Verde, told can use app for booking restaurants and more. The app is useless. You try to log in and it fails constantly and when you can actually get logged in, when you try to book anything or have any additional requests as a guest, it tells you to sign in and then says sign in failed. Tried repeatedly times with same result. No point having an app that is unusable. It would be great if it worked but sadly it doesn’t. Can’t even use QR code to book restaurants as it takes you to the app that doesn’t work. The app is also full of information that’s not accurate. Don’t bother using the chat bot. You DONT get free airport transfers, you can’t call to add a transfer, you can’t book reservations 7 days in advance. I’m probably forgetting some stuff too. Now it asks for a membership number which I don’t have at the process to recover that number is failing. Using Google to login doesn’t work either more errors. most companies use your email address and when I tried to recover it it just threw errors at me. They let third party people play with your food and plumbing system in their hotel. Don’t do it run and call the police.
