If I had realised what they were like, even for a point and click game, I probably would have just avoided buying it unless they do for it what they did with Myst and optimise it for play on phones/ipad. Edit: Having tried to persevere with this, it was not worth the money. Stick with realMyst unless/until they come out with similar for Riven. This is just such a subpar experience in comparison to realMyst and it really takes you out of the game constantly. ### 3/5 — Remastered! *2024-08-14* I like Riven. It’s very much like Jules Verne and i love the Maglev and how all the different islands are connected. I also played the new version of Myst and enjoyed the new scenery. L'adaptation mobile est très bien faite mais vraiment ça m'a rappelé pourquoi Je n'ai jamais fini l'original. Qui a le temps de passer des jours à essayé de comprendre comment marche tout cet univers? Il devraient faire une version plus simple aujourd'hui. Myst était déjà assez dur / long, mais Riven il faut vraiment être un ultra nerd avec beaucoup de temps à ne faire que ça. A quand une version simplifiée? J'abandonne. ### 3/5 — Great story, terrible design *2023-05-14* I’m guessing it’s better on a computer or other device, but on the iPhone the design has many flaws. The zoom in feature is really annoying, so it’s easy to miss lots of clues, and sometimes when you tap on a clue it doesn’t work. That’s just a few issues on the design. The method to move around is a little underwhelming, but if you’re patient and dedicated to the game, you get used to it. The gameplay is awesome, a great sequel to Myst, but I recommend NOT playing on the phone and choosing a different not-so-annoying version. ### 2/5 — January 31 new update ruins game *2022-01-31, version 1.6.0* Don’t update this app if you can help it. Auf dem iPhone nun endlich portabel. Schönstes Spiel ever, welches allerdings klangliche Einbußen zur CD-Version von damals hat und an Bugs leidet. Auch Rätsel sind visuell anders leider. I was SO disappointed. In Myst, you walk and explore and everything is very fluid. In this game, you don’t actually walk to explore. The game is just a series of stills, and you just tap everywhere.
