I love the low 1% fee and that they sell Bitcoin at the current market price without extra upcharging. Features I’d love to see: mobile check deposit and maybe a secure Visa/Mastercard-style card funded by fiat or stablecoins, with cash back in Bitcoin or stablecoins that can be swapped into Bitcoin. Then it would replace my bank account. The one that my phone just automatically updated to feels soulless. PLEASE. Scrolling the Bitcoin chart on the previous update was so satisfying now it feels horrible! Also we need a cash chart the same way we have a Bitcoin chart. To be fair, there is an “account value” chart but it grows both combined totals. So having all there (Bitcoin chart, cash chart, and account value chart) would make it feel more complete. They closed my account the second it was opened for no reason provided. Move along to somethin else ### 1/5 — Very scammy *2026-03-31, version 6.186.1* I submitted photos for ID Verification and they closed my account right after. This is AFTER I had already funded the account and set up a recurring buy. If you’re going to keep the option to close an account after doing ID verification don’t allow the user to put money in first. Or at least have an option right away to take money back out. Now I’m stuck waiting for support. Just as bad as the banking industry with how controlling they are with your money. I sent money to a bitcoin wallet from my River account and that was enough to be classified as unusual activity and they decided to close my account which means immediately sell all my bitcoin without my permission and send it to my bank account in 5 days. This literally happened on the lowest it’s been for over 14 months and by the time the money gets to my bank account bitcoin could easily recover. I think this is extremely unfair and I think River should compensate me for the money I lost since I did nothing but use the services. If you’re looking for a nice platform, use Strike. You try to sign up for an account and they they immediately cancel your account and say you are not allowed to sign up. They try to force you contact their support to “help” you sign up. I’ve never seen anything like this before. I will not be doing that and more than half of people will not be willing to do this. There are better options with better companies. Good luck, River. ### 1/5 — Assets Stripped *2025-11-21* I started using the app and making a few purchases to test the exchange, like I usually do with all exchanges. However, this time was different. As I started getting comfortable with my purchases, I decided to increase my deposits and test sending my Bitcoin to my wallet. When I did, I was asked to take a photo of my ID, which I found normal, as I’ve done this with many exchanges. Almost immediately, I received a message stating my account was closed without a reason. I emailed their support and received an automated message stating they could not share specific details. I tried calling the number, but it’s not set up for communication, which I found strange for a company to provide without an actual use. I’m extremely frustrated as my funds and Bitcoin were stripped from me without reason. **Developer response:** Can you email us to support@river.com with the subject line 'App Store Review'?
