There wasn’t much that played continually through the whole time the guy was talking. What we did hear was good info and I wanted to hear it...sounded really interesting. Tried pairing with Bluetooth, tried the USB, tried to use the media mode....tried all the help methods and just found nothing worked. The newer I phones don’t have an aux cord spot. Not sure if it was a car problem. Anyway liked what I heard when I re-listened at the hotel but just didn’t work when we were driving. ### 1/5 — Concept works but execution failed *2019-05-17* Love the concept. Texted the app before we started the route. Everything was going great until the first stop where I unplugged the phone and took it with me when we ventured out. Then when I come back, the GPS was still tracking me but the audio never played when we hit the next audio market. It was very frustrating. Tried to call customer service and there was no phone signal. Reboot the phone completely and it worked again. That seems to be the fix but then that means I had to keep doing that each time I come back to the car from each stop. Another major problem is that the guide’s opinion is highly biased toward the last stop beyond Hana. Basically it will tell you that everything is not worth it to see. I rather have a more objective narrator to tell me what will I see at each landmark, what level of efforts it takes to hike or walk there, ease of parking, and let the users decide base on their interest and physical abilities (traveling with kids, etc). For example, one of the gem I found was the restroom stop at mile 22. It was a small waterfall that took very little efforts to get to. Perfect for people with young kids but was NOT recommended by the guide. Good thing I read an article about this because it was the highlight for my elementary school age kids. On and all, if I had to do it again, I would have purchased another app because of the constant reboot required (very frustrating and missed out on numerous audio markers) and the lack of objective information. **Developer response:** Sorry to hear you had trouble operating the app. It kind of sounds like an issue with plugging the phone in and how it would sync with the rental vehicle - but not enough detail to be sure. The app describes visiting many places along the tour, then it's up to you to decide which places sound of most interest to you. Most people only have a day to do the Road to Hana, so its important that they prioritize how to spend the time they have to enjoy the best experience, and that's why we make a point to emphasize what in our opinion, are the best things. We're glad you found Pua'a Ka'a Falls to your liking, the small falls are very nice and easy to access. The tour says that its a local's favourite, but for visitors, there are some bigger and better places, especially considering most people have limited time and want to go all the way to have the full Road to Hana experience. The Garden of Eden, Arboretum & Botanical Garden and Koki Beach ended up being our top two favorite stops on the highway. We missed the first stop to sample the Huli Huli chicken and we REGRET IT!! Once you smell that barbecue, stop for it! We stopped at the Kipahulu Visitor Center and were told that the pools have been closed for almost 7 years now. You can still hike up and see them from above but you definitely can’t walk down and take a dip. All of the trails down to the pools are blocked with gates and signage. We took the full loop all the way around and it was a must with this audio guide.
