Maybe Siri integration? “Siri, add new fuel expense” then it goes through the mileage reading, quantity and cost per unit. 10/10. ### 5/5 — My Favorite - Use it for a lot of things *2020-07-18, version 16.4* I’ve had this app for several autos and motorcycles now and find it extremely valuable and easy to use. I have a lot of information at my fingertips, at all times, and entry is easy and straightforward. I’ve started using the app for the house as well. The house takes the place of a “car” and I can schedule reminders, note when done, make notes, etc. Great customer service as well. My friends who have androids are really jealous. ### 5/5 — Exactly what I need *2020-03-23, version 16.3* For the last 7 years we have travelled from Canada to Mexico twice a year. I work in three currencies and US and metric units. Additionally l enter all my expenses for my vehicles. I also am able to track my overnights as we travel-by creating a “new vehicle” Bottom line: It’s easy to use. I have eleven units to track and backing them up now will be a breeze. Still would like to see it sync through iCloud, otherwise the app does exactly what I need it to do. ### 5/5 — Most useful app I own ... *2019-01-10, version 14.2* This is a 'must have' if you care about the costs of running your vehicle. I've used this now for almost three years, and have learnt a lot in regards to driving habits, costs of maintenance and regulatory costs as part of the overall cost. It has never let me down, and has been the basis of many discussions with my 4wd friends, usually around the campfire with a cold beer. Well done to a very focussed and competent developer! UPDATE: now used it for 5 years and 8 vehicles. Still stunning and makes tracking costs and maintenance issues foolproof. This app is nicely polished and high quality. It does a lot more than that, too. Keep track of maintenance and expenses related to your vehicle. Like that it logs grid references for any stops we make. ### 5/5 — Great App and Great Developer *2018-02-08, version 14.1* I've been using another app to track vehicle maintenance and fuel usage for several years. Now, that app is no longer available on the App Store and there is no support. So, I did some research and found Road Trip (MPG - iPhone, HD - iPad) to be the highest-rated of all the available comparable apps. Boy...I'm glad I did. First, I found the developer to be outstanding. I sent a help request and he responded in less than 10 minutes. Over the next couple of hours he assisted me getting the historical data for my 4 vehicles from my previously-used app imported into Road Trip. That's first-rate service! The layout of the app is nice and most importantly, the sync with Dropbox allows easy tracking of multiple vehicles on multiple IOS devices. This app and it's developer are outstanding! Buy with confidence! ### 4/5 — Great app! *2018-01-29, version 14.1* I’ve been using this app for years to track my wife’s car and my car. It’s helped me to save money at a mechanic when they recommend a service and all I need to do is consult my iPad (or iPhone). The downside is that the search function doesn’t touch the notes. So if you get 80,000 miles service completed, for example, you need to make a separate entry for each thing they do in order for it to pop up in search results. Since usually I go in for one thing at a time, that’s not that big of a deal for me. ### 5/5 — Top app for me! *2018-01-14, version 14.0* I have been using this app for close to 9 years now and just love it. It makes life so much easier. Never forget things like registration or insurance. I particularly like the way it forecasts expected dates for expenses based on previous kms. The Tyre log is very useful too. Easy to see your running expenses. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Don't buy *2014-03-21, version 1.4.1* Don't waste your money. Doesn't work. Any data you input calculates as a daily input. Makes 40L of petrol add up to nearly £15,000 on your totals. Emailed the developer but no reply. ### 1/5 — Good Update but disappointed *2013-02-25, version 1.3* One of the best apps to monitor your fuel usage. My only disappointment is if you buy the ipad hd version the iphone version should be free or discounted doesn't seem very fair to me to have to pay again to get it on your iphone ### 2/5 — Good *2015-05-03, version 11.0* I used the lite version for some time, really liked it so I purchased the app on my iPad. Then I went to transfer the data but I can't because I didn't buy the app on my phone? Why do I have to purchase the app again so it's on my phone? Such an inconvenience and money grab. You have to purchase it twice. Cool app otherwise. Will help me keep track of my girlfriend's vehicle better since she does not. ### 2/5 — Value for money *2011-12-19, version 1.0* It is an excellent improvement on the iPhone version, however most of the data is captured with the iPhone. Is it worth paying again to view the data on a bigger screen.... NO, well not in my opinion. It would have shown commitment to Darren's apps users to offer a free upgrade to existing customers!. For these reasons I can not support this app unconditional. If you have an iPad mounted in the car permanently go for it, if not stick to the original. ### 3/5 — Need help from support *2024-05-29, version 17.7.1* I really like this app a lot. But, I have sent a request to support 3 times to answer a question. The first one was a week ago. Have gotten no response. As we will be sharing vehicles this has become a huge issues. I’m removing 2 stars because there is no iCloud sharing ability. Original review: I love how this app does everything I need it to. It tracks services and fuel, plus syncs to iCloud so that my phone and iPad are always in sync. I just thought to myself, as they keep updating/fixing the app, wow this is awesome. This app will help you track a lot of details about your vehicle. If you do fuel and maintenance entries you will get cost per mile. This is helpful when my company wants me to use my vehicle for work and give me $0.15 a mile when I now know it costs me $0.23 a mile. I tell the no or pay me the balance. THIS IS A REALLY GOOD APP!!! You get it you won’t be disappointed. ### 5/5 — Now Available for Mac *2025-03-06, version 18.1* I’ve been using Road Trip on my iPhone and iPad for years. Just discovered that the iPad version can be downloaded for the Mac as well. Synced with iCloud and immediately had access to all my data. I’ve reached out to the developer with questions a handful of times over the years and he’s very helpful and responsive.
