This is not the app for those who are traveling across the country and need many specific information such as accommodations and POIs in the area. The route with our own POIs is very handy. ### 3/5 — Just OK *2023-07-21, version 4.8.3* In the past, I have always used my desktop computer for planning road trips. However, the software is old and the maps are out of date. One particular feature I used is the ability to enter my fuel capacity and fuel usage and have the software provide me with a maximum travel point. This was extremely helpful in determining where to stop for fuel/hotels. This software only allow you to enter your fuel use not your fuel capacity- not if any value. ### 2/5 — Nice map BUT *2023-02-09, version 4.8.2* Would be nice to have these maps off line Will not use app after this trip too bad I did like it ### 5/5 — Wow. Fun! *2022-08-17, version 4.7.84* The more I use this apps the better it gets! It took a while to figure out all the little tricks, but was well worth the time investment. There are lots of little hidden features that are simply gosh darn fun. You can change icons, flag little diversions and add notes, such as distances and time. Then… holy cow… I stumbled across the itinerary feature which does all the time and distance calculations for me, along with directions. I can even switch mapping backgrounds. So much fun to imagine upcoming adventures! ### 5/5 — Great for planning road trips *2022-07-29, version 4.7.84* Handy tool for planning multi hop road trips. I wish there is an option to reorder the travel POIs based on shortest distance. ### 5/5 — Great Route Planning App *2022-05-08, version 4.7.84* I used Microsoft Autoroute for years and have not found anything as good since they stopped supporting it in 2015. This comes pretty close. Uses Apple Maps as it’s source, so everything you see there, you’ll see on this. All the POI’s are available, you don’t need to load them from other web sites. Very intuitive to use, even shows elevation over a route on the iPhone/iPad version. This didn’t work for me initially but with very prompt support from the developer, I had it working within 24 hrs. I use the iMac version as well which you do have to pay extra for and that’s my only slight irritation. Still cheap at the price though. And, it's inexpensive. I'm using it on MacBook Pro and iPad Pro. ### 3/5 — A little hard to figure out *2021-12-08, version 4.7.84* Got the app to go on a road trip out west but was hard to figure out on a regular basis ### 3/5 — Lacks MAJOR Features *2021-10-28, version 4.7.84* Don’t get me wrong, this is a great app, I love what it does and is my best travel companion, but I’m giving it only three stars for its two major flaws. 1.- The Apple maps version it uses is SOOOO outdated that there are roads and places that don’t even show, so you’ll have to guess their location with the help of Google maps. 2.- The inability to auto backup to iCloud, like so many other apps out there do, is frustrating If you want to have your route in several devices. I usually set up my route on my iPad, which has a larger screen and it’s easier to work on, and then just guide myself with my phone while on the road, but is kind of frustrating that every time I make a change I have to MANUALLY upload to iCloud or email myself the new route. So if for any reason I forget to send my updated map to the cloud, I’m screwed on the road the next day. If you look at the help section the problems are blamed on apple maps but it still makes this app useless. I get error messages when updating routes for no apparent reason. The program will plan a route out different ways in a matter of minutes. I put a pin at a ferry terminal on one side and the other side and it routes me to a completely different ferry by doing a bunch of back tracking. The program has so much potential but is just a huge unreliable frustration at this point. When i try to contact app support it loops you to their lousy FAC and a suppoirt forum which refuses you access to comment on Google I bought 2 apps...one on the mac the other on the iphone so i can plan my business travel daily and export it to my phone to use it. Den Support zu Kontaktieren schickt einen in eine Endlosschleife. Schade. I start with the main places I want to go and get a basic route that gives me an idea of times and distances. After that, it’s so easy to add in stops and places to stay and rearrange things and generate an itinerary.
